My guy and I got lots of yummy ube themed desserts to try and really liked everything we got, except for the ube cheesecake that my guy wasn't impressed by (I didn't try). They have an ube frappuccino on the menu that I didn't get to try, but I promise I'm going to come back to try!

I got a cheesecake slice, brownie and mochi brick with coconut. Cheesecake slice was my favorite, its like ube halaya mixed with a bit of cream cheese and put into a pie crust. The mochi brick was ok, the cashier warmed it for me because he said its served warm, I took a few bites in the car while it was still warm, wasn't blown away, so I let it cool. When I got back to it later it was already back to room temp, I liked it better that way. The ube halaya brownie would have been good fresh but what I got looked and tasted old. Like when you leave brownies out for a few days how the edges and top start getting hard. Thats probably what happened here. It felt like this brownie had a shell casing around it. I ended up peeling the hard parts off to taste it but I threw most of it away.

This one kinda hurts to say but this place really fell off. I used to like it, but after this visit…read moreI think I'm done coming here, especially with how many better boba spots are around Mira Mesa. I stopped by because it's super close to the freeway and I just wanted a quick drink before heading back south. Sunday around 4:30 the music was good, the place was clean, and the workers were friendly. There's a lot of seating inside and outside, plus board games if you want to hang out or study. Ordering was easy with the kiosk too. I got a jasmine milk tea with boba and asked for less sugar and less ice. The drink came out pretty fast and the cup design was actually cute and different from what I remember. I didn't try it until I was already back on the freeway and the first sip was honestly confusing. The jasmine flavor was super faint and watered down, but then it tasted sour. Like really sour. Not in a tea way, more like something went bad. It genuinely tasted off. I couldn't even finish it. I took maybe three sips and threw the whole thing away, which sucked because I was already driving and couldn't go back. That's the main issue. With how many boba places are in Mira Mesa, you can't be serving drinks like that. If it was just bland that's one thing, but tasting sour like that feels like a bigger problem. It honestly made me question the quality. I'd skip this spot for now. There are way better and more consistent options nearby.

There are plenty of spots for boba drinks in San Diego. I wasn't necessarily in the mood for one…read morewhen I went here, but I came specifically because this spot is one of the places I can earn extra miles on my credit card through dining reward programs. I ordered a strawberry lychee green tea, one of their top ten drinks. It was just okay. Fine, not horrible, but nothing that made me smile or would hook me to come back. It's pretty standard stuff but given the competition of boba shops out there and all the interesting things that are being done with flavors, I would say that this place is in the low middle of the pack. One small gripe I have about this place is that the receipts they give you don't show the last four digits of your credit card, which for me, makes it harder for me to submit receipts for points...
