They make the sauce in-house, and it really adds something special to the sandwich! My husband had the Italian sub, and he loved it just as much. Came off of a flight from Montana and wanted something quick and simple before going home! Stopped in to be met by the Thursdays night football game, great beer and food and friendly staff! Christian helped us out at the bar where we ordered food and beers! He was very friendly and attentive! I noticed in his down time, he took no time to go empty the trash cans and wipe down all the counter tops. He kept himself busy the entire time I was there. I have been to many board and brews. The food was the same. But I feel so bad for the manger girl. She is the only FOH employee that was working and has a great attitude. Owners you have cameras. Today is 9/18. Go ahead and review around 210pm and see all the dirty tables and customers having to whipe down by themselves while employees are relaxing and leaning doing nothing. Also have a better attitude working in this industry. But like I said. The manager is great but she needs a whole new staff that actually cares and helps. read more

Was very disappointed on February 5th, placed a call in order at 6:10pm, so that I could pick up my food promptly. When I arrive, the gentleman with the facial piercings completes my transaction and I proceed to wait. I notice the employees talking amongst each other, on their phone from time to time, then I noticed someone that ordered after me get their food. I follow up to check, he proceeds to ask me what my order was even though there was only 2 people who have ordered in between. And my order was on the counter behind the register the whole time. I understand one off occasions so I'll let that pass. I am only leaving this and review after providing the restaurant feedback and multiple opportunities to correct. I placed an online order for pickup on 7/8. Picked up food, got home, order was wrong. Called restaurant multiple times and no one picked up that same evening so I left a voice mail. I've received zero call back. Emailed them through their website and also received zero response. Called back 5 days later, spoke to an employee, explained situation and that I wanted a refund. He said they would process a refund. Never received said refund. Just a total service failure! Came in for a meal to celebrate my brother's birthday, but the outdoor experience was ruined by the heat. They have 11 patio tables, but only 3 have umbrellas for shade. When we asked management if more shade options were available, we were just told they didn't have any. It's hard to enjoy your food when you're baking in the sun. Summer time in San Diego means I am constantly craving a good deli sandwich. I will say when I first got there it took awhile for us to get anyone to take our order but after we did Jaford was super attentive with us and even cleared our table with our trash from our sandwiches. It is a typical sandwich with pressed meats, vegetables and mayo, cut into a triangle. Everything was fresh. The ratios are for the most part, pretty good where you don't take a bite and everything just falls out. The thing that makes B&B special is their orange sauce. I believe it is a variant of thousand island with more spice and acid. You can ask for quite a bit of that and it makes each bit a bit more festive and unique. Also, you can ask for the Au Ju as well if you want to make your sandwich fall apart but it is good broth (both of the sauces are free) Service & Atmosphere: Service: Friendly, Attentive, Fast, Food came out after 5-10 minutes Ambiance: The space is in the corner of the plaza. There is plenty of parking but can get really busy during the weekends. The interior is table seating with some bar seating, and booth seating. There is basically no privacy inside as new customers come in from the sides next to the booths. There is also some outside seating with tables/chairs and big table/benches with umbrellas for the sun. When you are outside there is a view overlooking the Mira Mesa exit on the 15 Freeway. Overall Thoughts: Best thing I ate: That orange sauce. Something to improve: I wish the bread can hold the content better. I think i will need to get a french baguette instead of the sourdough bread.
