I finally made it into their storefront and OMG they have even more amazing ube offerings!! It is such a cute little shop and the employee was incredibly nice. I was super excited when I saw this place on yelp. I love ube! Pretty easy to find, when you pull in the lot just look for the purple signs and follow the driveway to the back end. I got a cheesecake slice, brownie and mochi brick with coconut. Cheesecake slice was my favorite, its like ube halaya mixed with a bit of cream cheese and put into a pie crust. The mochi brick was ok, the cashier warmed it for me because he said its served warm, I took a few bites in the car while it was still warm, wasn't blown away, so I let it cool. When I got back to it later it was already back to room temp, I liked it better that way. The ube halaya brownie would have been good fresh but what I got looked and tasted old. Like when you leave brownies out for a few days how the edges and top start getting hard. Thats probably what happened here. It felt like this brownie had a shell casing around it. This place has a very fitting name because literally everything is made of ube. I went in to go pick up for another pop up event from Buckets and Bibs and decided to pick up some bakeries while I was there. I've had their pastries at farmers markets before as well so I knew everything here was good. I grabbed ube brownie and ube crinkle cookie which are my 2 favorites. My son got the ube latte which perfectly has no caffeine. The drink came out pretty quick. He tore up the ube banana creme pie and said it was delicious so I didn't even get a chance to try. The ube matcha latte was okay, but the ube frappuccino was actually excellent and my favorite of the drinks. Since the location is in a warehouse area, it's hard to find unless you are intentionally looking for it. There are signs from the entrance but essentially turn right when you get to the plaza and head towards the back! It's definitely a takeout kind of joint since there are no tables or seating area. It's a small spot but the dessert options looked amazing and they offer drinks as well. I got the iced coffee with ube foam paired with the gut-busting concoction of an ube crookie- a croissant and white chocolate chip ube cookie rolled into one. It does take a couple minutes to prepare since they want to warm the crookie up but DANG that is a delicious treat . My compliments to the chef for making a unique and decadent dessert. Being at the Ube Festival in Cerritos yesterday (for those living up closer my way, there will be another Ube festival in Cerritos Oct 11- 12 in front of the Cerritos Performance Art Center and is also dog friendly), I decided to try All Things Ube Desserts because the ube silvana on their banner caught my eye. But sadly I was told by an employee that they only have what is offered in the bakery case. Since I had already waited in line, I ended up purchasing: Ube Cheesecake Bites, $11- These min cheesecake bites comes in a set of 4. To my surprise, this dessert wasn't overly sweet. Honestly because Filipinos really love sweets, I really was expecting this to be like that. But this was not and really had a nice balance (I am one of those Asians that do not like things too sweet. I also grew up eating a lot of Filipino food for those that are curious. I had a Filipino nanny growing up). I really liked the cheesecake bite that I had and wished I had gotten a second box since the rest of my family ate the rest. Ube Mixed Mochi Brick, $5- Another dessert that I thought would be on the real sweet side but this was also just prefect. The dessert wasn't too sweet and I just loved the texture of the mochi brick. The ube flavor shines through, just like the cheesecake bites. --------------------------- (Total= $16) As I was ordering, I asked one of the employees if they have a store front and he told me yes, they are from San Diego and in the Mira Mesa area. I told him that I was just in San Diego last month and wished I had known but will be sure to bookmark them on Yelp (done). This place is a little hidden, but just follow the signs, or take a stroll around the building and check out all the small businesses in this eclectic plaza! The girl working front of house was very sweet and did a great job answering all my questions. I, like many others I'm sure, was skeptical if they used real ube since their products have a very vibrant purple. And guess what?! Not only do they use real ube, but they make their ube jam from scratch. Yes, that's right, from scratch! Of course you won't get the same strong flavor artifical flavoring provides, but it's all natural and a labor of love to make. We ended up trying their ube banana pudding and was informed that custard itself is made from scratch i.e. no instant pudding shortcuts. It was served in like a 8oz container and for $7, I thought this was priced well. The custard was smooth and creamy and overall had a good amount of wafers and bananas. That said, since the ube flavor is subtle, as expected, and hits at the end, the only thing I'd suggest is either reinforce the subtle coconut background flavor within ube by folding in or topping the banana pudding with toasted coconut, fold in some white miso paste into the custard to add a little bit of umami, or add some pieces of purple sweet potato or ube jam with the bananas. All that said, I'd give this place another shot if in the area. Would be open to trying some of their other products. read more

If you're looking for a sweet treat then this will definitely hit the spot! Been really wanting to try this place, and finally got to! It's in a plaza of businesses, and definitely more of a grab and go type place rather than sit down but they have a table and a few seats outside! We got the cinnamon roll and the halo halo and both were so good. I'm very picky about my cinnamon rolls since I bake them myself, but this one was warmed up for us and very moist and fluffy. The frosting was the perfect amount and it tasted great! The halo halo was also really good! Sometimes I don't like the things they put into halo halo but I thought all of their ingredients went really nicely together. Service was quick and they were very nice. For someone who loves Ube, I was very excited knowing that there's a place that makes desserts that focuses in Ube flavor. Sadly, the halo halo was okay. I had way better ones. The Ube cheesecake though was sooo delicious and flavorful. Truly enjoyed that however because it's so rich with flavor eating half of it will be enough. The Ube latte, it did not taste any Ube even the knafeh chocolate bar. It's creamy but i was not able to taste the Ube flavor. The service was good considering there was only one person working when my friends and I came in. I wish next time they have proper seating tables inside their store. The store was tiny so you can basically just order the treats for to go. If you want to eat it there, there was 1 table outside that's placed like in a parking lot. FINALLY stopped into their store front after visiting their booth at various pop up foodie events overs the last few years. Tucked away in a small shop on the backside of an industrial park I found a solid variety of Ube goodies! I have always been impressed with the variety of treats they offer and was so excited to see them in store. I picked up a crinkle cookie and brownie. The brownie was thick, like a soft brick of brownie waiting to be dug into. The crinkle cookie kept a beautiful layer of powdered sugar on top. Tucked away in one of those commercial buildings in Mira Mesa, once you drive into the complex/parking lot, look for the small purple sign and follow the sign. The entrance is towards the right side of the building. It is a really small place with just a counter to order and the displays with no place to sit and eat. The staff were friendly and worked quickly. Their crinkle cookie was thick and soft on the inside and you got that Ube flavor coming through. Their drinks are pretty sweet; we got the ube latte and the halo halo. Ube flavor is there with more of the sweetness. The Vietnamese coffee base was strong, which I loved. The Ube Knafeh Chocolate was scheduled to be delivered at 2:30pm when we came on a Friday. You can place an order and pick it up when it arrives. I highly recommend calling ahead to find out when it is delivered. (*correction: it seems they were being made late today and they normally have it when they open!) We happened to come by around 1:50pm and it was ready around 2:20pm so we didn't have to wait long. Since it is Ube chocolate, it is white chocolate base so if you are not a fan of that sweet white chocolate, it might not be for you (especially if you are expecting that strong Dubai chocolate flavor). It did not have a strong flavor of the pistachios but it was super crunchy and sweet. The chocolate shell was also not too thick so you are easily able to bite through. Lovely texture!
