We went for lunch on a beautiful Tuesday in October. We wanted to sit outside to enjoy Lake Conroe. Outside was dirty tables scattered everywhere, electrical wires scattered around, the wait staff running like they were swamped. There were 4 tables of customers out there. Service was slow. I ordered $10.99 cerviche and it was about 1/2 cup of food. $5.99 would have been all the money for the portion size. Very disappointed. My friends lunch portion was right sized, and she enjoyed it. The inside of the restaurant looked very nice, organized, clean. Don't know why the part that is the main draw of waterfront dining, the outdoor lake front patio, was so blah , dirty and disorganized. Maybe management never goes out there, or just doesn't care. We won't be back. Will try Sam's or Wolfies patio next time. Very disappointed. By the way, I used to wait tables. read more

My husband had the corpus diablo dish. Bacon wrapped shrimp and chicken/cheese stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon. Well, it was not that great. All I can taste was bacon. I know bacon is powerful but he and I have had this dish MANY places. It was not worth it. I had the pick 3. Crispy taco, bean cheese chalupa, cheese enchilada and chicken flautas. U know that's 4 lol, I added to it. Mine was good but i played it safe. Not sure how to f up a crispy taco and a chalupa lol. My husband ate my cheese enchilada and he said it was good but again it's a cheese enchilada. The real disappointment was my husbands corpus diablo. I almost forgot the queso blanco turned in to a hard mess. Ugh! As I'm writing this not sure why I'm even giving a 3 but I will leave it. Giving this place 5 stars because they accommodated to our seating requests and the food was great. We wanted a seat by the window so my family could enjoy the views and they quickly cleaned up a table for us and sat us down with no hesitation. The food was fantastic. All around favorite in the area! The chips and salsa are impossible to stop eating, the charro beans ate the best anywhere and the perfectly seasoned fajitas come with hot homemade tortillas. The food is ok if not a little bit boring. The salsa was flat missing both spice and substance. Chips followed suit in the boring category. Typical mexican food offerings, where the majority of the effort obviously leans towards fajitas. If your looking for something besides fajitas go somewhere else. They do have a diverse fajita option set, and their margaritas are both tasty, and delivered by the bucket. The wait staff are always slammed and that's not their fault. They could staff the place a bit more on heavy dining times. It has a nice lake view, but I prefer several other Mexican food places nearby for cost, quality, and service. read more

I had dinner here with my family last Sunday 11-15-15 and received food poison from their beef fajita. My mother and mother-in-law both got it as well. The other two people we were with didn't eat beef fajita and they were fine. I called the restaurant to let them know and as soon as I mentioned that they hung up on me. I called back several hours later and asked to speak with a manager. She said she couldn't do anything for me other than to take down my number and have the owner call me. During a pandemic takeout service should be at least decent. Fajita Jacks takeout orders are a dumpster fire. They messed up my order twice a couple of weeks ago and I didn't attempt a third time because I was starving. Today however I had time. So I made sure I was super specific about what I wanted for both my order and my mother's order. I had to correct them over the phone three times. Then I go to pick up the order and both my mother's order and mine were completely wrong. So they redid them. Upon opening them when we got home we realized that my order was completely wrong again. Fajita jacks is always right when you have time to sit in the restaurant, but during these times they need to put equal priority on to go orders. Not to mention another customer had to get her order redone three times as well. So if you have time for crappy salsa and getting your order wrong several times go ahead and eat there. read more

The best Mexican food around. Its close to Montgomery and sits right on the lake. I love sitting outside overlooking the lake and enjoying any of the items on their menu. Great atmosphere and great food. Sometimes they are a bit crowded, but thats just because they're a really nice place to eat. read more

We contacted Fajita Jacks today (Friday) advising a group of 30 would be coming in at 3PM. They did not hesitate advising us come on it. Several of us arrived early to decorate, as we were saying goodbye to a good friend who is moving out of the state. We ended up having 25 come in, our waitress Katlyn was excellent. She kept up with all the different orders for drinks and food, since not everyone ordered at the same time. They also gave us an area all to ourselves. The food was hot and good everyone dish as it came out, I would think "I should have ordered that" everything looked delicious. No one had a bad word to say about their food. We ended up being there until 6PM, the last stragglers, and not once did management come in and try to get us to hurry. We will be back as a group (we have eaten there before at 11:30am) and we meet everyweek to eat. What a wonderful way to say goodbye to our friend. read more

I watched a waitress get yelled and cussed at by An irate man over a straw today. She was in tears. She walked by later and he yelled to her quite crying and not to come at him with her emotional insecurities over a straw. She was a super sweet and took care of us amazingly. Went in last Monday to enjoy the lake view and have some appetizers and ritas. The bar area was actually quite slow at the time but the bartender seemed to not want to be bothered with serving us. I finally got up to find menus for us bc none were offered. After rudely answering our questions about the drink prices (which were not shown on the menu) she seemed to loose interest in us all together. 10 min later I got up to find a member of the kitchen staff and asked for chips and salsa. We decided to move outside to the patio when our other friends arrived. Our waiter Lorenzo was actually a friendly guy and didn't make us feel unwelcome like the bartender. We had nachos then decided to leave and eat dinner elsewhere bc we had asked for Grand Marnier in our drinks and was brought a well version of Grand Marnier which was disgusting. As we left I kindly questioned the manager about their Grand Marnier (if it was real or a knock off) and he responded to me like he was irritated. We were visiting family and stopped at Fajita Jack's for lunch. I ordered the Chicken Pablano Nachos. They were very good! Loved the creamy sauce that was on them. I have always loved this place, but tonight they charged us $1.50 for more cheese for our fajitas for two. The server didn't even tell us there would be a charge for more cheese. It was just on the bill! I have had this dish many times there and usually we each get a plate with the toppings.....but not tonight we got one plate with one small amount of pico and cheese....not enough for two people to make two fajitas. Try 7 League's just down the street (ironically, at Fajita Jacks old location) and the food is 1000 times better and is authentic! 2 stars because we got seated quick on a "busy" Monday night like the hostess said. One of the managers was so rude! He yelled at me when I came up to check up on our table (since we overheard him say their system was down) but he wouldn't let me talk. He was loud and his tone was very unprofessional. He was a bald headed older man who from my understanding- has a bad attitude among his staff. The food was horrible! Our table had fajitas, tortillas and rice. They were bland. We will never be back. Great selection of Fajitas, best we have had in this area. They are always busy, a good sign, so you may have a little wait. Always have enough to take home, which makes up for the little higher price. The spinach Chile Relano (sp) was 5 stars the last time, not a thick batter and plated Beautifully. I'll get that again when I'm not starving! You could share fajitas if a couple isn't too hungry & get extra sides.
