My son in law and I went to Pedro's for lunch, and noticed on the menu, they advertised 2 for 1 margaritas. I looked at the menu and for a regular small margarita, the advertised price was $8.99. However, when we received the bill, we were charged $11.99 for the same margarita. The manager even came over and argued that the 11.99 was an upcharge for the 2 for 1 prices. This is advertizing fraud and I will never do business with this restaurant again. read more

We came in for a late lunch and decided to share the Seafood Enchiladas (comes with 4). But let me start with the chips and salsa they brought were Great! They even had black bean dip! I was disappointed with this place. The chicken seemed to have been butterfly to make it seem a large piece and it was paper thin. Price to food ratio wasn't good. Music had the bass to maximum level and couldn't understand the words being sung. Now this is my opinion. I might give it another try but not in the near future. Ordered the birria tacos and a michelada. Both were adequate, however the salsa was bland. The worst part was the music was entirely too LOUD. I asked if it could be turned down and was told the would "try". One of the male waiters came back and said "this is as low as I can go". The difference was negligible. Visited the Pedro's restaurant today. Order the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans with green sauce. I was disappointed. The beans taste it like they came from a can, the chicken enchilada was dry.No sauce on top or inside. When we informed the waiter and the manager, they were indifferent. Terrible. Way too expensive for not enough food. And a guy wouldn't stop harassing our large party about the flan. He literally asked every single person multiple times in the hour we were there if we wanted it. Then when someone asked about the sopapillas he lied and said they were huge and there was 7 of them. But I went ahead and ordered them for the table to share and there was only 5 and they were tiny. It seemed like he was trying to get us to get the flan so bad that he tried to tell her not to get the other dessert. Went here for lunch yesterday with a group of coworkers- right when they opened! Loved the murals that were placed around the restaurant with the unique white chairs. First time here, so I went with the table favorite which were the not a hit for me. I'm more of an enchilada, or nacho person - and should have went with my gut. We tried this place when it first opened.... HORRIBLE experience from the rude staff to the overcharging my bill.... WHAT food we got was tasteless and cold. They tried to charge me 49.99 for a grill plate that was listed as 36.99 on the menu - also tried to charge me 19.99 for another plate listed as 14.99.... I asked what made the bill so high.... She got a "manager" on the phone who just said "this is why we don't take call in orders.... The menu you found is outdated and the prices aren't correct.... Ok, but the "menu I found".... First time to visit and it smelled so good that I wanted to like it much more than I did. Chips were warm and fresh as was the salsa. A nice sprinkling of salt on both gave it that extra touch. I ordered a mixed enchilada plate and my husband went with a chimichanga. Both of our meals came with rice and beans. The enchiladas were barely warm and all of them were covered with a red sauce that had a sweet aftertaste...was not what I expected in a red sauce and not really what I wanted. My husbands chimichanga was not very crispy for being fried and a very small portion, most of which was tortilla...not a lot of meat in it. For two meals to cost $40, I want to get full and satisfied and take some leftovers home...neither of which we did because they food was less than average on flavor. Visited a month later. We ordered fajitas for the two of us. We received an order of 3 tortillas, and needed one more so we could get 2 each. Take a look at the photo: we were charged $1.99 for an order of 3 even we wanted only 1 tortilla. This is crazy! Then I wanted the green sauce again, Ok, it is $1.00 extra. I knew and accepted that. Ended up here on a whim and had heard good things in the past. The interior is bright with an interesting layout. I was expecting a typical tex-mex meal. Unfortunately, the service was below expectations as the server seemed in a rush during each interaction and table visits were few and far between. I'm not sure why the server seemed rushed as there were only 5 or 6 tables in the place with plenty of staff. As for the food, it was bland. The ground beef in the enchiladas had no seasoning, the rice was bland. The charro beans were actually ok and refried beans are just refried beans so those were fine too. On my meal they forgot the burrito at first but after eating the enchilada and seeing how bland the meat was, I told them don't even worry about the burrito. It was also ground meat and I just wasn't interested in eating anything else. Also, of their plates don't include rice & beans in the price. Those are extra which I thought was very odd. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant that didn't include rice & beans with the plate. Last thing is that their version of a chalupa was actually a tostada with guacamole and tomato and not what I was expecting, so that was an unpleasant surprise. read more

Came on opening day. As always, there are some kinks to work out but all hands are on deck trying to keep everyone happy and the food flowing. I'll always judge this, but the beer selection is lacking, but that is common with a Tex Mex place like this. They did a great renovation on the inside. Doesn't at all look like the Golden Corral that once sat here, or the other two Mexican restaurants after that. The food was hot and fresh. I especially like the salsa. Great flavor and just enough heat for us gringos. Despite it being inaugural day, the lunch special still came out hot and fresh. read more

I feel really bad changing this review because when they first opened up it was AMAZING. Like so delicious and flavorful. The food was hot, service was great, and they didn't have the cheesy music. The last 2 times I've been I'm just disappointed. The food has become very bland and subpar, and while the rice and beans are hot (obviously stored in a vat container) the entrees are coming out warm at best. I used to love the choriqueso and the size got small, and the quality of product isn't the same. My meals have been lukewarm at best. There's been a lot of staffing changes. The one gentleman that served us is just very cocky, doesn't know how to balance his tables, and would just disappear. Even some of the original staff have made comments on how things have changed, and not in a good way. I loved coming here and the food used to be so good. Now with the cheesy "live music", which no one is interested in, and the subpar food it's just not worth it anymore. On a positive they still keep it clean, but to be honest Taco Bell gives you more flavor now. So sad to see it change the way it has. read more

Recently had my husband's 40th birthday party here using their private room area and it was great! Nelson was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. This restaurant has a lovely interior and is well furnished. Sadly I'm not here to eat the furniture. If I ever want to feel better about my cooking I can come to Pedro's. The queso was watery, thin and flavorless, but it was served in a nice fried shell, at least. I can make better queso at home with a box of velveeta and pico de gallo from HEB. That isn't me saying I'm a great cook; I'm awful at it. My family forbids me from helping cook Christmas dinner because they don't want to become pariahs in the eyes of our extended family, but even I can make a better queso dip than what's found in this restaurant. But maybe Queso just isn't their specialty. I ordered the Enchiladas al Carbon, the $20 one with steak, because I'm just fancy like that. For $20 I expected a bit more than just a few tiny bits of beef sprinkled on top of undercooked cheese enchiladas. The enchiladas were undercooked; the cheese inside was still solid and you can tell it was shredded cheese; it hadn't gotten hot enough to remelt into one glorious cheese collective, no, those shreds were individualists each with their own distinct personality; all bland and flavorless. The rice and beans were generic; nothing special. I will unironically say I would have been happier just getting a frozen Mexican TV dinner from HEB. Would that have tasted better? Probably not, but I wouldn't have felt so violated after I finished eating it and would have $40 left over for booze to drown away the depression. We came in on May 6 for a friends dinner. The interior of the restaurant is very nice. We arrived early and decided to have a drink at the beer. My hubby had a beer on tap. It was a decent price and served in frozen mug. I had the large coronarita. It was blah. They use a pre-mix for their drinks and it is just blah. You do receive complimentary chips and salsa which were pretty good. For dinner I ordered the ceviche and he had the nachos. I don't have a picture of the nachos but he did say they were just okay. The ceviche was okay but a smaller portion. Our waitress could have checked on us more often. It's just basic and nothing that stood out that would make me want to come back. read more

Came in for dinner on Saturday. It was a nice day so we sat in the patio. There was a live band and the music wasn't over bearing. You could still hear the individuals at your table. The place is very clean and there's a lot of cool "Day of the Dead" wall art. The furniture inside is very nice. Something you'd see at an upscale restaurant, but this place is not upscale, actually it's very casual. Relaxed, and fun atmosphere. Good for a casual dinner date. The service was friendly and attentive. The server checked on our table regularly. Onto the food, the shrimp cocktail had a slight orange citrus taste to it, but was otherwise flavorless. I added salt and some Valentina hot sauce to help it. The shrimp in the cocktail were large and not those tiny cocktail shrimps you often get at a restaurant. We asked if they had a "Fajitas for 2" and the only option that is enough for 2 ppl is the mix with beef, chicken, & shrimp. My son & boyfriend said The fajitas were good, but just the typical flavor you find in any Tex-Mex restaurant. The mangonada margarita was delicious. It had plenty if chamoy and a tajin rim. The large comes in a very tall glass that looks good but is difficult to drink out of... I finally gave up and took it off the table and held it next to me every time I wanted a drink! LoL! Overall, a decent meal. We paid about $115 (before tip) for 2 margaritas, the fajita mix and a shrimp cocktail. I would visit again but definitely wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

Wow!! Probably some of the best customer service I've had at a restaurant in Texas!! We hosted a bridal shower in their event room and it was fantastic! They were so easy to work with, incredibly accommodating, patient, quick with the food, drinks stayed full... we couldn't have asked for a better place for a large group!! read more

I was on my lunch break jonesing for some tacos, and I drove right by this place. I noticed they were open, so I turned around. It doesn't look like it from the outside, but it's nice! When I first came in it looked like all the employees were standing around in a meeting. Turns out, it was their first day open. A manager showed me the lunch specials and told me they'd be pretty quick. I ordered a two taco combo, and looked around. I felt like I wasn't doing the place justice with my "To-go" order. The dining area is kind of posh for a taco place, and the bar is exquisite. I was happy to learn they make tortillas from scratch. My food came out relatively quick, for being their first day AND this isn't a fast food place. I really enjoyed their salsa, the beans and rice are above average, and their crispy tacos aren't anything to complain about. I will definitely be back to try their margaritas and Tequila selection, it's slightly intimidating. read more

Visited for the first time today around 4:30pm (Saturday). The place was not very busy and we were seated immediately. The table was okay, but was dirty underneath (dirty napkin, lots of crumbs, etc). We got a sweet tea, the large queso, a taco, enchilada, and two half quesadillas (grilled chicken and cheese). Service was good. Food was fine. Wouldn't complain about going back but would recommend somewhere else for the price point (~$30). One thing to note: the place was VERY loud and there were only a few other tables seated! read more

I am almost reluctant to share my prized gem! The inside decor is lovely. The food is amazingly delicious! I've had the fajitas (beef, chicken and shrimp) and they are perfectly seasoned and so tender. Really wonderful! Fantastic Chili Relleno. There is also a great a la carte menu for those with a smaller appetite. Delicious chips, salsa and queso! I can't praise them enough for the food! Then, the service which is always great. Our favorite is Katie, at the bar, but we have had great service from Milton as well. The staff is so eager to please! Do not miss out on having the perfect Summer drink; a Strawberry Margarita. The flavor was good and the cook on it was spot on. My rice and beans were decent. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. When I first walked into the place it had a bad stench... Decor is on point and Instagram-able! Sat at the bar, order enchiladas and crispy tacos, they both were bland, dry, and had no flavor. The refried beans tasted like they were cooked with rancid lard. I had one bite out of my enchilada and a spoon full of beans and refused to eat anymore. Asked for my check and left. The bartender never asked me how I liked my food. If you want a venue to take pictures, this is the place, other than that it's over priced BAD FOOD. I have been here at least 3 times, probably 4, and I just can't find anything about this place that warrants a good review. I think the only reason we have been here as often as we have is we keep trying to make the aroma meet the taste. If you drive by this place, it smells devine. I have to imagine its the aroma you get when you drive by this restaurant. Maybe its the fajitas, maybe its not even Pedro's, I don't know.
