Great waiter and bar tender!! He put up with the 11 of us on a Thursday night, after a lot of drinks.

I made reservations for 7 people for a Sunday at 11:45. When we got there, there was no handicap accessibility which I had requested in my reservation. We had to walk through the neighboring apartments, through a locked gate and through the pool area to reach the restaurant. Not very conducive for a senior using a walker. Upon getting in the restaurant, we were greeted by several staff. They were friendly but not prepared for my reservation. (There were 2 other patrons at a table on the deck. The restaurant was empty and no need for reservations!) We were seated in a back room. The restaurant was FILTHY!! Tables not wiped down, windows with smeared food and fingerprints. All the glass on the doors were full of dirty handprints. It was obvious no cleaning was done before closing the night before or before opening that morning. Had it not been for a 40 minute drive and a frail senior with me, I would have walked out! There were 3 other staff sitting at the bar the whole time we were there that should have been spending their time scrubbing tables and washing windows. The food was ok, our server was good, however stood over my shoulder, waiting, when I said I would be paying the tip in cash and not on my credit card. Disappointing experience! read more

Food was great! Burgers are huge and tasty! Kitchen staff does amazing! Appearance wise, it really needs an upgrade or upkeep. Tables outside were full of cobwebs. I thought I'd post an update regarding my most recent visit. We stopped by for lunch and some drinks. They've added some new tables outside, and have made some improvements to the facility. The restrooms were clean. The servers were attentive and it was fairly busy. Just had bottles and cans of beer but they have a decent selection. We had crawfish and it was very good. They include potato, corn, and sausage without an up-charge although it's just one of each. They're making progress and I'm happy we came back. read more

My family and I dined in last night on the patio for the first time and will not be back. We had a decent service however the queso was horrible and tasted like chemicals, the shrimp tacos had no flavor and had maybe 7-8 total in three tacos, the ketchup had a film on top and chicken was way over cooker for the kids strips. This place needs a lot of TLC and really sad because it's a great spot on the lake. Sucks we wasted a nice Saturday night at this spot and wasted hard earned money. read more

VEGETARIAN REVIEW This is a cute little place on Lake Conroe. The margaritas were good and so was the service. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She made sure that we always had a drink. We also ordered the chips, queso and guacamole. The queso was "meh," but not bad. The guacamole was good, and I would order it again. They had multiple vegetarian options including mozzarella marinara, crispy brussel sprouts, vegetable quesadillas, pasta primavera, and various side dishes. I was surprised that they didn't offer a veggie burger, but they did have plenty of other options. If I return, I would order the margarita again for sure, and would probably try the veggie quesadillas. One last note. The music was terrible, and I was left with song "Girls is Players Too" stuck in my head for days. read more

After my friends + I have been coming here for a year, I've felt obligated to leave a review: If you can navigate the exposed nails + loose boards on the deck, there's a beautiful view of Lake Conroe at the end of your journey. Are you looking to scratch the hull of your boat? If so, dock at The Wave as the exposed nails (yes, they're dock side too) will leave a warm reminder of your time at The Wave. If you love whiskey and mixing it occasionally with Coke ICEE. Don't knock it til you try it -- oh wait, you can't try it. Sadly, Management has told us multiple times it's too expensive to fix the ICEE machine. This has gone on for months, a fun game we play with them. We're currently pooling loose change + dollars we find around our houses to buy one off Amazon or FB marketplace and donating it to The Wave. I hope my review helps. I encourage you to visit and see for yourself. One more thing -- take a friend's car or bring your AAA card. The parking lot looks like an earthquake wrecked it. Truly a wave of an experience. Staying in the neighborhood & stopped in here for a few happy hour appetizers & drinks. The happy hour menu they were advertising everywhere included: - Chips & Queso - Chips & Guac - Boudin Eggrolls - Buffalo Sliders - Meatball Sliders - Margaritas (house & flavored) - Well Drinks - Draft Beers (domestic & import) They had no draft beers, no tequila for house margaritas, no frozen margaritas, and no well liquors. So happy hour started out not-so-happy. We ordered 3 happy hour apps & 1lb of crawfish. Waitress forgot to put our crawfish order in, then once she did, it took so long we ended up canceling (had kids with us & needed to head back to our condo). The kicker was getting our bill & being charged full price for 2 of the apps. Then we had to wait around for a manager to approve the happy hour price, which took a while because he was apparently unloading a delivery truck out back (hopefully with some alcohol!). This place has so much potential & an incredible location on the water, but right now it's pretty much rundown, frozen food, and a green pool outside. We love this place! So close and food is great! During crawfish season, it's some of the best we have had. Offseason, the other food options are great too. I have to admit - I've never been a huge fan of dining in here as the service was always lackluster in recent years, despite the amazing views and atmosphere... but after ordering some crawfish to go I'm tempted to try dining in again. Ordered 4 pounds for take out around lunch time. Price as of today (2/21/24) was $10.99/lb which included 2 good sized potatoes, 2 corns and 2 slices of sausage. The flavor profile was classic spicy Cajun (I was sweating), very easy to peel (nicely soaked but not at all mushy) & decent size considering time of season. The waiter who took my order even threw me some extra butter/seasoning, which I hardly used because the flavor was already spot on. Willis & Conroe folks - don't sleep on the crawfish here! "Meh" Food was ok. Staff was amazingly friendly, but entirely inefficient. We waited about 30 minutes for our drink order. Food came out quickly and was tasty, but simply okay. As soon as we walked up the server told us there is a 45 minute wait to get our food, and there is only one cook. We decided to wait it out. I'm so glad we did. The scenery is beautiful and the food and service was amazing! It's family friend. It's literally in front of the lake (we took a few steps down, and looked at the water - you can dock your boat and have a bite.) It's family friendly, and even perfect for a night out with friends. I would highly recommend Wave on Lake Conroe. I know they are understaffed, but the food is really that good! They only get an extra star for the service. The food is overpriced, and poorly prepared. The quesadillas were plain Jane, the chicken Alfredo was bland, and didn't come with anything else (not even bread), the catfish and shrimp were overcooked, and soaked in old grease. The avocado bacon burger was good, but they were out of avocado. The floors were extremely sticky. The outside area is rundown, with piers that have broken and missing boards. After reading the reviews I was a little worried but this place was AWESOME! Liz was AMAZING and took such good care of us. Brought us an umbrella(the sun was vengeful), she carried a heavy ass sand bag across the restaurant so it didn't fly away, she checked on us often while running around taking care of many other tables! The wave is a unique step up in restaurant quality here on Lake Conroe with three separate establishments inside one building, all run by one owner there's a local pub/sports bar, there's a wonderful high and whiskey bar and there's a event venue. The food is excellent, the service staff is well trained and the food is amazing. Now, when you add all that to one of the best sunset views anywhere you've got a you need to visit. My favorite at the WAVE is the whiskey bar. Be sure to speak Bogart, the most amazing mixologist we've run into in a long time. We went on a weeknight- happy hour. Mixed review. What I liked: Friendly staff, love the pool area, reasonable prices, mediocre food, family friendly (sort of) excellent view of sunset. What I didn't like: No masks or COVID protocol, mediocre food, no happy hour specials, no handrail on stairs to enter pool, lousy hip-hop music which was not only inappropriate for the type of clients they serve, but was full of vulgar language (not family friendly). how about some Jimmy Buffet, raggae, or even some variety, should be more pool friendly. and finally, they need a better check presentation method. I was given the check and a pen. It's wet and windy around the pool- can you get those black check holder things? Returned on Saturday afternoon. Much better! Servers excellent as always. To me, if you're going to hold yourself out as a choice of restaruants on Lake Conroe, you're going to have to change some things. First of all the food is good, a little pricey for the portion, but still good. Staff and service also good. But folks have to know, this is the club/house restaruant of a group of condos and a neighborhood, next to the community pool. Not really a standalone eatery. But there is hope. Yall have a lot of people workin there and a great view - right on the water - looking west. But, the windows haven't been cleaned since the 80's. Can't yall see that? Dirty. And that's not cool for a restaruant. The inside is older and uses outdoor tables but its ok. Lastly, you advertise a happy hour, but the beer and wine we bought were excluded. Well we went in February. Beautiful weather. Food was good. This place seriously needs to be updated by Bar Rescue. We sat outside at a table with duct tape on it. Moved to another table. Out of draft beer & other beers on the menu. Poor wine list. Ordered crawfish which was good, but in a plastic bag. Ben was a nice waiter. Stayed in a condo next to restaurant ordered food to be delivered & they were out of crawfish. Don't advertise if you don't have it. I mean the place had no customers. I'm so torn on what to write! The food was DELISH but it was a bad experience from the beginning. The boudin egg rolls and the mac and cheese were bomb! Our boat was getting trashed by waves and banged into the dock. Once we got it secured we exited the boat to a dock in TERRIBLE condition with lifted boards and exposed nails. MAJOR safety hazards. My friend tripped over a board. The pool was nasty. I hope y'all can get the dock and pool fixed up so we can come and continue to enjoy the awesome food!! On days the lake isn't calm I guess we'll just have to order it for delivery on the dock! Ha. read more
