I really wanted to like this place, especially after reading so many glowing reviews. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. I got the shawarma pita w/fries. While the portion size was decent, the pita itself had more filler veggies than actual meat, which was also quite bland. In fact, the overall meal was so flavorless that if it wasn't for the ketchup, I definitely would've thought I got covid and lost my sense of taste. Tried this place for the first time and it was awful! My dad and I both ordered shawarma sandwiches and they were absolutely dreadful! They had so much tahini that they were soggy and dripping everywhere. The vegetables were not fresh and the meat tasted unpleasant and had an off texture. My dad ended up with food poisoning after. The only part of our meal that was satisfying and tasted well were the fries. It was an abysmal experience and we will not be eating from here again. Definitely do not recommend. read more

I was happy to find this cafe that I had known years ago. They were forced to move from their original location and now a lame chain restaurant is in their former location. This is their new downsized spot in the former Simply Greek location in Uptown. This was my first time visiting the new location for lunch since I've mostly been working from home. They have such friendly customer service from the second you step in the door until the the moment you leave. You feel cared for as their customer. I have always stuck with the Falafel pita because it's so tasty. The only downside for me is the rice pudding, this one is more savory than sweet. read more

Their spinach and tomato pies are bursting with flavor, and their falafel/hummus platter is worthy of walking 500 miles to eat it. I will be eating here for life. read more

Needed a place to grab a quick bite and based on the ratings, we decided to give Falafel Cafe a try. It is located right next to Case Western. We ordered the Shawarma Pita and the Shishtawook Pita (grilled chicken, pepers onions, tomato, pickled turnips, garlic mayo). The food was fresh and didn't take long to come out. Although the owner was very kind and the service was great, I still remained underwhelmed by the food. The pitas were full of veggies and didn't have a lot of meat (as others have stated) and as for flavor, it was just ok. Definitely not my favorite shawarma. The food wasn't too expensive so if I'm in town again, I'd be willing to try something different. read more

I've even left with some complementary baklava at times! When the weather is nice there is a great patio to sit at as well.
