Shawarma Pita with a side of fries
    Jenny C.

I really wanted to like this place, especially after reading so many glowing reviews. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. I got the shawarma pita w/fries. While the portion size was decent, the pita itself had more filler veggies than actual meat, which was also quite bland. In fact, the overall meal was so flavorless that if it wasn't for the ketchup, I definitely would've thought I got covid and lost my sense of taste. With their prices, I could be convinced to give falafel cafe another try, but at this point, I am not hopeful.

Very friendly and fast veggie and cheese pies as well as other Mediterranean fare made to order.

Wow we had such high hopes in helping a new business but came away disappointed First, the owner put on a soiled mask after she washed her hands then prepared to make our food in the age of Covid, it doesn't bring confidence to diners in how she handled herself Second, the food was underwhelming relative to other Mediterranean food in the area It was not bad but certainly not very good Third, the service attitude of the owner wasn't pleasant or helpful She stated she would bring our food outside but another diner told us to come in to get it. Candidly, she was just going through the motions When we asked he what she recommended she was very unhelpful Fourth, the plastic wear given to consume the food was the cheapest I ever used You could not cut with the knife or eat with the fork If you eat bring your own silverware Fifth, the servings consisted of mostly fillers The dinners for $14 did not give you much meat but did give you a lot of rice and:or lettuce

If you want authentic Lebanese food, this place has a variety of tasty options. I usually get the spinach fatayer and lentil soup. The lentil soup is perfectly seasoned and is light while satisfying, while the spinach fatayer brims with flavor!

Absolutely fantastic to see Falafel Cafe back again. I had the Falafel + Hummus Combo, and it was (as usual) incredibly tasty! The spinach + mushroom pies are absolutely incredible!!! The falafel ingredients and taste are very unique to Falafel Cafe, as well as the hummus. The tabouleh is also very fresh, and compliments the dishes very well. If you're looking for incredible food, made with love and heritage for over 20 years: this is the place.

There was good service, but the food was mediocre. I was expecting more flavor, and or spices/seasoning.

Everything we ate was fresh, homemade, and excellent! I highly recommend the stuffed grape leaves and falafel.

Excellent authentic Middle Eastern food. The falafel pita wrap was delicious. Will be sure to stop by again.

Delicious and cooked with care! Proprietor really cares about the food she serves. A nice break from all the franchise places around here.

Wowzers. We dropped in for a late lunch on a Sunday after hitting the Science Center. Our…read morearrival coincided with the end of what looked like a significant private event in the dining room, so it was a little weird at first. But once things were sorted out we were seated and ordered some drinks and the kibbie appetizer (which was glorious!) We decided to share a double grill platter to try some different selections and not overeat, this was ideal and we were very happy with our choices. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Clearly this place deserves the reviews.

I ordered…read moreahead and arrived at pickup time, but I waited for over forty minutes before my single entree (mujadara) was ready. There were several staff members moving in and out of the waiting area, but only one asked me about my order and reassured me that it would be coming out shortly twice, though I still ended up waiting 20+ minutes after these reassurances. To be fair, this restaurant is within walking distance of the convention center, and several conference attendees grabbed lunch here that day, but I was hoping that ordering ahead could mitigate some of the wait time. Some fellow conference attendees also noted the extremely long wait time for their sit-down meals: several of them had to immediately take their food to go once it arrived to make it back to the convention center, despite the two-hour lunch break we had. As for the food, the mujadara was pretty yummy! I enjoyed the fried onions on top, though they were pretty limp and soggy by the time I could eat it. The lentils were a bit on the hard side, and the side of pickled turnips I ordered was pretty small but added to the meal. I did really enjoy the pillowy pita that was included, and the sumac olive oil dip was pretty good as well.
