Brassica in Shaker Heights was such a good find while visiting a friend. I went twice in one trip, that should tell you something. Got the salad bowl both times with hummus and basically loaded it up with everything, and it just works no matter what combo you put together. Tried the chicken on one visit and the brisket on the other, both were fabulous. Fair warning though, the brisket is subject to availability, so don't count on it being there every time. Do yourself a favor and order the fries at least once even if you're trying to be good. They complement the bowl perfectly, and throwing a few fries right into the salad is genuinely a great move. Also have to mention the beer selection. Good local options and reasonably priced, which is a nice touch alongside the food. This place earns the trip back any time I'm in the area. read more

I love everything about Brassica, but especially the falafel with their hot sauce. Everything is fresh and delicious, with bright and bold Mediterranean flavors. The hummus is also a favorite. I love a salad bowl with greens, hummus, falafel, special sauce, pickled cabbage + extra carrots. Don't sleep on the tahini chocolate chip cookies, either. Staff is all so nice when you go through the line to order your food. The restaurant is sparkling clean with a really patio area aside from the abundant seating inside. I'm always greeted warmly immediately upon entering and they really make you feel like you're taken care of from the start of your visit until you leave. The place is always clean and the decor is very modern feeling but cozy. I usually get the chicken grains and greens bowl with all the fixing. The roasted veggies and pickled cucumbers and radishes really elevate the fast casual meal and the chicken is super well seasoned. I rarely get the fries because the bowl is big enough, but I will never deny myself a chocolate chip tahini cookie. Probably one of the best restaurant chocolate chip cookies out there. read more

We were recommend this spot by a bunch of contractors in the area. We have pretty high Mediterranean food standards and I will say this place met it! It was a fast food like restaurant. The menu is right as you walk in on the left. We got a chicken bowl with falafel side and a cookie. We got our falafel so hot it wasn't able to hold together for a bit! It was an amazing. I've been loving this place that I find myself craving it every now and then. I usually get the bowls, sometimes add a pita on the side. All the proteins are flavorful and tender but my favorite would have to be the brisket. I've also heard of the falafel being some of the best that my friends have had. Tried the cauliflower soup--creamy and filling for colder days. Definitely appreciate how they have a well portioned and balanced kids meal too with a protein, rice/lentils, hummus, and pita. Plenty of seating inside or you can take the food to-go to eat at other tables in Van Aken. The line can be pretty long so I've been finding myself ordering online to-go, for which there can still be a 5-10 min wait after you show up. I'd recommend that you check all your items are there since my fries have been forgotten in the past. The parking is free and there are parking spots just for online pick up or you can park in the free Van Aken parking garage. Soooo good! Mediterranean bowls & pitas, like Cava, except they also have fries dusted with the perfect seasoning. In fact, everything was seasoned well! The brisket and eggplant are a lil spicy which I didn't expect, but it was a pleasant surprise... The creaminess of the hummus and the tangy pickled veggies tamed the heat. The lentils & rice are very flavorful and the greens appear to be very lightly dressed with citrus which makes them sooo tasty! Service was friendly, efficient, and prompt. Brassica is the most amazing fast casual food I have ever had anywhere. I was thrilled when they were coming to my area after trying them in Columbus years ago. I'd qualify them as fast casual "plus" because they have alcohol like you can get a bottle of wine for your table and make it a longer event than like Chipotle. The pita is out of this world and they make it fresh all day long. The prices I think could look a little high to some but it's incredibly filling if you get a bowl with the rice/lentil base and it can be split between two people even. They also make homemade tahini chocolate chip cookies which are amazing Their patio is lovely and has table lights for a nice ambiance in the evening. read more

I know I could go back and have a good experience. Unfortunately it was so good that I forgot to take a picture. I know lots of people love this place, but it truly is a solid meal. There are different options for how to have your meal. I went with the salad bowl (which comes with some rice and lentils so it is more filling) and falafel. I would also recommend getting hummus on your bowl, it is a great addition! There are great options for anyone with different dietary needs. Even at a busy lunchtime, the service was pretty fast. If you've never been to that location, there is an indoor seating area and outdoor seating area, in the Van Aken district. Located in Van Aken Market Hall, you can easily grab a meal here and order a side of poutine from Banter, enjoy with some beers in Craft Collective, or top it off with some ice cream for dessert at Mitchell's! You order similarly to Chipotle style - where you tell them what you want and go down an assembly line adding toppings along the way. My go to here is the chicken sandwich (served in pita). You get to choose whether you want hummus or baba, followed by optional veggies and sauces. Service is quick, and the end result is a nice, hearty meal. My family and I come to Brassica every time we visit no matter what :) their chicken and falafel are so delicious, in a bowl or pita (you can't go wrong here) the fries are also just the right amount of crunchy! The people there are so nice and is normally very fast even if there is a long line, which is to be expected on a weekend. This location is attached to the Market Hall so you can explore more if you stop by, but Brassica is a must try if you're debating. The place itself is very cute and there is a lot of seating options inside, as well as outside when the weather is nice! I really like this restaurant. It's like Chipotle as far as the ordering in line style goes, but the food/ingredients are far more superior than chipotle. I ordered the braised beef bowl and loaded it with rice, crispy onions, pita chips, sweet potatoes, pickled relish, beets, hummus and cabbage. It was delicious! I also had a side of falafel and fries. The falafel is packed with so much flavor and the fries were seasoned to perfection. This is probably my favorite restaurant in Cleveland. I moved away for a year and this is the first restaurant. I wanted to come to when I moved back. The brisket is a little more expensive than the rest of their options but it can't be beat. I usually get a sandwich to save a few dollars but I could probably spread the bowl over a couple days so either way you can't go wrong.
