We ordered our son's kid's meal first, before we ordered our apps, but it came out after our entree's which was closer to 7:15. I assume the kid's meal coming out late was an awful server mistake, I can't imagine it would take over an hour to make a burger and fry up some potatoes. The chef was nice enough to let us order the octopus from the tasting menu (it was the only reason we came here, didn't realize it was part of the tasting). I almost did order the 5 course tasting menu, because it looked really good- but I'm so thankful I didn't. The table behind us was seated before us and by the time we left he was only on his third course. I'm also always cold but it was really warm in the restaurant. Not sure if their ac was broken or if it couldn't keep up with the weather. Not knocking the restaurant for this, things happen. But they probably could've used another few fans. We were the one table in the middle so the air wasn't getting to us. Not knocking the restaurant at all for this, it's a hot hot summer and things like this happen. The kid's meal portion was huge, actually bigger than my gnocchi order. We also ordered the brussels, pork ribs, seared tuna, tagliatelle, branzino, and pork chop. While there are some good things about the place, which I will list first, there are some not-so-good things. The good --- When we arrived, the place wasn't busy at all. There were a few people sitting outside. The dining room was empty. Throughout our meal, we had the place to ourselves. Our server greeted us and seated us. Masha was very friendly, polite, and efficient. The dining room was decorated with artificial hanging plants. Also, there was a large mural of Eve holding the apple with the serpent coaxing her to eat it. Now for the not-so-good things --- getting to the entrance wasn't easy, especially for my husband, who is waiting to get his knee replaced. To reach the entrance, you had to walk down a paved path with descending steps after parking the car. Upon entry, we had to climb a somewhat long staircase. On the way out, Masha stated that there was a ramp and pointed to a door leading to the kitchen and said we could go out that way. We chose to exit the way we entered. Also, they don't have any printed menus -- just a QR code to scan for the menu. We found that to be off-putting. Fortunately, we had already decided what to order before coming here. We chose to start with "Zaytoun", which consists of "Mixed Pitted Olives Tossed In Extra Virgin Oil. GF". This was a tasty starter. There were a few different types of pitted olives. However, we didn't think that there was any olive oil in the small bowl; rather, it appeared to be brine. For our main course, we both chose "Beef Kofta" which consists of: "Beef rolls served with Lebanese Couscous, Refreshing Tomatoes, Cucumber, & Labneh". The beef kofta was very dry. Growing up, I sometimes had Kofta, and it often turned out quite dry. The kofta did have some kick, and the small amount of very tasty labneh helped mute the spiciness. The Lebanese couscous portion was huge. That, too, helped give moisture to the kofta. This was a filling meal, and we ended up taking some home. Weighing the pros and cons, the cons, alas, outweighed the pros for us.

What makes Nick's special is that it's truly family owned. The family is from Greece, and they're still very involved in the restaurant. They even come in and contribute many of the recipes, which is why the food tastes so authentic. You can tell it's made with tradition and pride, not just following a generic menu. Their happy hour is one of the best around, with great food and drink specials that are tough to beat. The service is always friendly and welcoming, and they make you feel like you're part of the family. There are plenty of places to get Greek food, but I always find myself coming back to Nick's. The authentic recipes, consistent quality, great happy hour, and genuinely caring staff set them apart. It's the kind of local family-owned restaurant every community hopes to have.

The waiter apologized, but then it took him 20 minutes to return with refills so we decided to skip dessert. So then it took another 10 minutes to get my card back once he disappeared with that. This is the third time we've been underwhelmed with slow or disjointed timing. Some meals come out while others at the table have to wait. It's really odd. I don't think we'll give it another go. I prefer supporting local, but not while my meal goes cold waiting for people at the table to receive their meals.

The wine sat there untouched. Mind you, we had purchased a full bottle for the table along with the added wine pairings. It was a simple modification for 3 OUNCE pours. Ridiculous. The pours were also inconsistent. The first two courses and wine pairings were exceptional and delicious. As was our appetizer and bottle of wine. When it came to the last course, the dessert. It really left a bad taste in our mouths. The crème brûlée looked like scrambled eggs. It was runny and lumpy. It looked more like cottage cheese than a custard. Like the sweet wine, we all left it untouched. We explained our grievances to the server and she said that she would not tell the chef because he was "sensitive" and she was too afraid of him. As a former server myself, I couldn't help but be upset. When it comes to customer service, your job is to have your guests leave happy and wanting to come back. For example, we couldn't taste the oysters at all because they were filled with some kind of cream with a rhubarb sauce on top. A complete abuse of an oyster in my opinion. Oysters are a delicate flavor and the point of them is to taste (or enhance) their unique brine, not bury them in a sweet sauce over cream. The giant pork chop was overcooked. The fries were so overcooked you could barely bite into them (and insanely salty). It is also incredibly overpriced. I rarely comment on price (we eat at Michelin restaurants a few times a year), but this place is ridiculous. Basically Clyde's style of food for 3x the price (and Clyde's is better). The staff was nice, but they seriously need to drop some of the pretense. Like I don't need my table swept for crumbs several times throughout a meal when you don't even bother to provide a beverage napkin to mitigate condensation (on a bare wood table, no tablecloths). The servers won't even take dishes off the table. They find their little crumb sweeper minions to do that for them. I've eaten at fine dining all over the world. This place is just trying too hard to be something it's not. Oh, and you also get the perk of paying $15 to park in the lot behind the hotel. Because apparently spending $500 on dinner doesn't include parking. Ridiculous. AVOID. They need to figure something else out. Loudouners may have money, but we also have taste and don't like being swindled.
