After noticing there was an Italian restaurant at Leesburg Village Market, I went home and looked…read moreat their menu and Yelp reviews. Seeing that their recent reviews were good, we decided to give them a try. We were here on a Saturday around 4 p.m. for an early dinner. The place had a few occupied tables, including a large party. Our server, Steven, was prompt in getting to us and asked what we wanted to drink. I chose sweet iced tea while my husband had a Heineken 00. We decided to start our meal by sharing a caprese. It consists of: "Fresh mozzarella, vine-ripened tomatoes, olive oil, basil, balsamic reduction." There were 5 slices of tomato, each topped with a generous slice of mozzarella. We enjoyed this starter. The tomatoes were ripe, and the balsamic reduction added a nice flavor. For dinner, I ordered "lobster and crab ravioli, which consists of: "Brandy cream sauce, jumbo lump blue crab". This dish had 4 raviolis. From their appearance, one could tell they were handmade. The brandy cream sauce was well-balanced. I was glad to see that the brandy didn't take over the sauce, but rather, it complemented it quite well. I could taste the lobster and crab. The one thing I didn't like was the cost. For that reason, when we return for a meal, I would choose a different entree. Before heading here, I looked at the menu and told my husband that I thought he would like "Sausage and peppers rustica". This dish consists of: "Italian sausage, roasted peppers, red onions, cavatappi, spicy marinara, mozzarella". He looked at the description and said that's what he would order. The dish arrived hot and remained hot through the meal. It was quite filling and tasty. We actually had some room for dessert, so we agreed to share a serving of Tiramisu. It consists of:"Award-winning layered creamy rum-flavored mascarpone cheese, espresso-soaked lady fingers, espresso sauce". This dessert was quite tasty. The espresso added a nice flavor, and the whipped cream on top was a nice touch. Service from start to finish was excellent. The young woman at the host stand was friendly. We liked that she wiped down the menus before giving them to us. Steven, our server, was prompt, friendly, and efficient. He checked with us during the meal but wasn't overbearing.

The staff was friendly but honestly had no sense of urgency. Food was presented well and made as ordered. Portions are generous. The food runners did a good job except when 4-5 people were holding our meals not knowing where to deliver the food. We watched them approach 2 other tables before finding our table. That was almost comical. Where did the communication fall short?

We started with drinks - the old fashioned was perfectly made. We got the lobster spinach queso - and it was really great. Hubby had the buffalo chicken salad and I had the steak tenderloin salad. Both were perfectly crafted. Tip - Get extra crispy onions and the chipotle ranch sauce! Service (5/5): Our server was fantastic, Cecelia, she was kind and helpful at every turn. We had an issue with one of our entrees (hidden cilantro) and they remade the entree quickly and didn't blame my friend for not realizing that there was cilantro in the chimichurri sauce. Ambiance (3/5): The restaurant was fine, but half the restaurant was closed due to a tile that fell from the ceiling the night before. They were a bit crammed but still were able to put us in a large booth.

It's truly one of our favorites and never disappoints. The food was absolutely incredible (as expected). We also want to give a special shoutout to our waiter, who was in training he did an amazing job! He was attentive, friendly, and made our experience feel seamless. We love this place so much and will definitely keep coming back every chance we get!

If a place executes its vision at a high level and exceeds expectations for its lane, that is a 5 star experience to me. And this meal absolutely did that. We relocated to Northern Virginia a couple of years ago, so we have been exploring the dining scene here with fresh eyes. Since moving, we have visited The Wine Kitchen several times, and each visit has been consistently impressive. They are truly a gem in Leesburg. We went with the pasta tasting menu and it was an outstanding, technique driven progression that really showcased the kitchen's command of fresh pasta and sauce work. The pasta itself was the foundation of the experience, clearly house made, with impeccable texture across every course. Each shape was cooked to a true al dente, with that ideal balance of tenderness and bite that only comes from properly handled fresh dough. Nothing felt heavy or muddled, which is no small feat in a multi course pasta progression. The mushroom tortellini in brodo was beautifully restrained. The broth had deep umami from the mushroom parmesan base, yet remained clean and structured, allowing the delicate tortellini filling and chestnut mushrooms to shine. The truffled Alfredo could have easily gone overboard, but the richness was controlled, silky, properly emulsified, and well seasoned, with the truffle supporting rather than overwhelming the dish. The lobster ravioli was another technically strong plate. The pasta was thin and tender, the filling sweet and delicate, and the crab fat sauce added depth while the ginger Calabrian soffritto brought a subtle lift of heat and brightness that kept the dish from feeling too rich. The short rib rotolo delivered deep, slow cooked savoriness, balanced nicely by the ricotta and the earthy luxury of the truffle fonduta. What really made the dish stand out for me were the crispy edges on the pasta, which added a beautiful textural contrast to the tender filling. For dessert, we enjoyed the tasting menu dessert and also added the cornflake French toast. The French toast completely wowed us. Texturally, it was outstanding, crisp exterior, custardy interior, and that nostalgic cornflake crunch elevated into something refined. It had richness, sweetness, and contrast in all the right ways, and ended up being my favorite of the two desserts. Overall, this is how you do a pasta focused tasting menu with finesse, strong technique, thoughtful balance, and flavors that feel indulgent without becoming heavy. In its category, this was a 5 star experience for me, and I would absolutely come back.

We made reservations since we were a group of 6 including 2 infants, and these were warranted as the restaurant progressively filled up as we got closer to peak brunch hours. We were offered a large booth, which was appreciated as we needed space for the babies. The food here tasted quite good. My wife ordered the Pork Belly Benedict, which offered tender-crisp, thick slices of braised pork belly atop soft, buttery focaccia and coated with well poached eggs and creamy hollandaise. We both highly enjoyed my Broadlands Breakfast Sandwich, a clever take on a standard bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich swapping crispy, perfectly sweet French toast for standard bread. The breakfast potatoes served alongside were crispy on the outside with fluffy interiors and good seasoning. Our friends enjoyed their sandwiches as well. As the name alludes, the drink program is strong and offers something for everyone. In addition to wine and whisky, a solid selection of both cocktails and draft beers are available. Prices for both food and drinks were quite reasonable given the quality of what we received. I do dock a star for just so-so service. Our waitress was a bit MIA during the first part of our meal when we were trying to order, and then kept checking in on us every 5 minutes once our food arrived. We also had to remind her a few times to get a high chair for our little one. Fortunately, the food and drinks all arrived accurately and within a timely manner once ordered. Service woes aside, the creative fare satisfied our taste buds and we look forward to returning soon for to sample more of the brunch menu and libations.

As always, the food is delicious. I enjoyed my all time favorite Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps, listed as an appetizer but I eat it as a meal. The various sauces and toppings really make this a meal for two or a takeout option for leftovers. Everyone else in the group enjoyed the flatbreads, burgers, sandwiches and salads. The star of the show was our server in the dining room. She provided us tastings, made sure our beverage glasses were refilled and enlightened us with our free glasses of wine. Nice, roomy restaurant which never came close to filling up on a Saturday lunch. Booze was tasty but lotsa ice. Kids meals were likely the best deal. Seemed like they were really short staffed which made table service rather slow. Hostesses weren't very welcoming nor that helpful. Kinda just stood around chatting until they were required to act when customers walked up to them to get help. Kitchen staff was hopping! But. The food. Um. Not yum. But not entirely horrible either. Seemed like a lot of stuff was from the night before. Warmed over yet not hot nor warm by the time it got to the table. Stuff under the heat lamp too long got over cooked while the stuff underneath the overcooked stuff was lukewarm to cold. Would think one couldn't mess up donuts, but these were fried in old oil (probably from the night before since we arrived at opening). Blobs of bland dough that were really dark on the outside but gooey, mushy, and not thoroughly cooked on the inside. That bitter taste from old oil really ruined any hope of enjoying what sounded delish on the menu. The donuts were rather disgusting. In general, the food just didn't taste really fresh or mouthwatering. Salty, maybe. From the bread to the entrees, most everything fell flat. An expensive flat. Worth the drive? Overall, while we had good service minus the hostesses, the food & value just doesn't warrant giving it another shot, which is disappointing. It's a place you'd want to really like, but it's missing something significant that makes you want to return to give it one more try. Just wish the food had been a lot better.
