However, after my recent experience at Falcon Park Dental, I feel compelled to share my concerns so others can make informed decisions. My wife and I have been patients at Falcon Park Dental for four years since relocating to Denver. While the initial care was satisfactory, we've noticed a marked decline in service quality over the past year, coinciding with staffing changes. Recently, I scheduled a routine exam and cleaning after receiving new insurance cards from our carrier (while maintaining our existing Delta Dental coverage). As an established patient, I was required to complete all intake forms again, which I did promptly. During scheduling, I specifically discussed our insurance with the receptionist, who assured me they would contact me if any issues arose before my appointment. I heard nothing, so I proceeded as scheduled. Upon arrival, I was informed my insurance was "inactive," which was incorrect. Despite explaining that my wife had identical coverage and had recently been seen at the practice, the front desk called the wrong verification number. After I provided documentation from our insurance agent, they finally cross-referenced my wife's account (which should have been standard procedure for linked family accounts) and confirmed my coverage was active. This verification issue could have been resolved with a simple phone call before my appointment. I had rescheduled multiple business meetings to accommodate this appointment. After keeping me waiting for 10 minutes, the staff informed me they would need to reschedule for another day, despite the error being entirely on their end. There was no understanding or desire to accommodate. It is hard to believe that 10 minutes, on an error that was their fault, and without the proper focus ahead of time, could not have been accommodated for an existing patent. The lack of basic customer service, poor communication, and apparent inability to perform routine insurance verification tasks have led both my wife and me to seek care elsewhere. I cannot recommend this practice to anyone based on our recent experience, and I am attempting to help others avoid the same problems. read more

After having Dr. Spooner as my dentist for nearly 10 years, I can't recommend. Under her care, I had one failed crown and one failed implant. Working with my new endodontist, I have learned that the success rate for dental implants is over 90% with a typical failure rate between two and four percent. My impression is that Falcon Park is more interested in deep cleaning than patient outcome. read more

We stopped giving "Falcon Profit" second chances. There are too many good dentists around to settle for mediocrity. I think the worst part about this place is the continual upselling and shady billing. I just wanted my teeth cleaned, I do not want optional screenings, bacteria treatments, or a cpap machine. Worse is when they don't get approval and just do the treatment. BTW, don't just sign the signature pad, always ask to see the document that you are signing (not their brief explanation). I plan to file a complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's office. The employee turnover is very high. I started dental work with one dentist and had to finish with another because the guy was no longer with them. We also had multiple appointments canceled at the last minute and we had to be rescheduled months later. They said it was for training, though it was odd that it happened so often. The final straw was when we called and said we could bring our kids to their scheduled appointment though they were recovering from the flu. The receptionist said that the dentist did not want them to come in and since we were canceling there would be a $100 charge. So we said we did not want to cancel, we would be at the appointment. Then the receptionist acted annoyed and said no we cannot come in the dentist will not see you. Then they billed us the $100 even though the dentist told us not to come in. They can keep the money, going elsewhere will save us much more. read more

We do not recommend using this dental group. We ended up changing dentists and found out what we suspected was accurate. They over charge. They add in procedures that are not needed. The new dentist took X-rays and said "what they told you needed done is over-kill". They also recommended a procedure that is useless and just adds money. Very unhappy with the way this practice operates. They also make you pay upfront and don't work with you for payment plans. read more

Dr Spooner gives bad medical advice. Don't fall for her NightLase treatment. It's very painful and won't cure your snoring. You will be out $3,000. Very bad experience with Dr Spooner. I had a crown done in her office and it went bad. I had pain and swelling for over a month and had to have a root canal. I had appointments for further dental work but had to cancel several times with notice because of continued pain. Dr spooner decided she was going to charge me $100 for canceling. I explained why I had to cancel and she still charged me. Horrible experience. I will never go back. I did hear back from dr spooner and she reviewed my case and waived the $100. 11/29/23 service with the insurance portion (around $60) approved and paid on 12/13/23. I understand these checks take time to credit my account but Falcon Park already sent my balance to collection agency on 12/20/23. The office says they can't do anything about it until my account is credited - whenever that might be. I don't want bad credit so I have not choice but to front the de minimis payment and check in later to get my money back because they didn't offer to follow up. After having crown placed I had continued pain and a tooth that abscessed. Tooth eventually needed to be extracted but the pain continued for weeks on end. Dr Spooner couldn't understand why I was having continued pain and after weeks of horrible pain she decided to refer me to an oral surgeon. I walked into his office and he immediately sent me to the emergency room. I ended up having a life threatening infection in my jaw which caused me to have emergency surgery. After 3 days in hospital on iv antibiotics I was released home on oral antibiotics for weeks. Infection never completely went away because it was so severe. Eventually ended up with Osteomyelitis of the jaw and had to receive Iv antibiotics for additional 6 weeks. Strongly recommend not using this dental group or Dr Spooner for your dental needs. Always selling you something... I have been to this dentist 3-4 times. Each time, they have opaquely sold me additional services that aren't covered by my insurance. They frequently do this as you enter before any healthcare provider examines you to see if you need the service. For example, on my most recent visit, they tried to charge me for two additional services at checking; 1) A oral examination for cancer screening which is recommended once per year unless you have other history (which I don't) and I had already done with this dentist 8 months ago. 2) A procedure for deeper than standard cleaning, even though they hadn't examined me to determine if I needed the extra cleaning yet. They attempted to charge me at the door without explaining any of this, and back peddled when I questioned what they were charging me for. My concern here is, most patients probably don't strongly question the extra's, including myself at earlier visits. I had the same experience in previous visits. Had I not been pushy, they would have gone along continuing to charge me for extra's and not explaining if and why I needed them. As a healthcare provider, we put a certain level of trust that what they are recommending is in our best interests and necessary, not just additional services so they can make more money read more

Had dental work done, evaluations done, recommendations made ... found out wife has Cancer and need a paper signed saying there is no infection (Which they stated there was NO Infection during evaluations). ... Bow for the MONEY GRAB ... the dentist will not sign off for Cancer treatment because a "scaling cleaning" that was recommended was not completed. Let me be clear ... this office would rather a patient forgo Cancer treatment due to a recommended cleaning not happening ... Now, in the midst of dealing with Cancer, we've got to find a new dentist with a bit of integrity and humanity. This office is ALL about the money they can get out of your pocket. Beware new Medicare patients! I chose this group because they were in my new insurance plan. At my first and last visit, the first thing, in the door, without any exam, they asked that I pay $74. When I asked what the charges were for, the clerk did not know but commented that I should be lucky to pay this amount compared to the $1400 cleaning that was to be forthcoming. I then asked for a receipt, and she said she could not provide one. As you can imagine, my trust in this group went right out the door without even having any services rendered yet! My x-rays, cleaning and exam took a full 2 hours, with at least 40 minutes of this was simply sitting in the exam chair waiting. The dentist who examined me did not apologize for the wait but did provide an explanation of 3 crowns that she felt I needed. After reviewing closely a copy of the Financial arrangement, I noticed two ADA codes, D0431 and D1999, that accounted for the $74, bill up front, that I was charged and paid for as I walked into the door. I called my insurance company to see whether or not these two codes are covered, one was and the other was not. I subsequently called my brother in law, who is also a practicing dentist, and he was surprised that this group was charging for these tests when they should be covered in the "complete exam" and "Propy" ADA codes. After reviewing the processed claim for just the cleaning, exam, x-rays, one of the ADA codes listed above was omitted and replaced with another frivolous ADA code for "oral hygiene instructions" which I never received. I then got a second opinion from my previous dentist of 25 years. After this consultation exam and reviewing 2 years of x-rays, pictures, this dentist totally disagreed with the Falcon Park dentist that I needed 3 new crowns. In addition, he commented that if any of the suspected teeth may need work in the near future, it will most likely be just fillings but not a crown. He also was surprised that this new dentist charged and took a over $400 xray, ADA code D0367, (not covered by my insurance) in addition to 7 other x-rays. Needless to say, I feel like this Falcon Park practice is taking advantage of patients financially and putting patient's clinical needs secondary. As with any service provider, trust is so important and hard to find! I would not recommend this practice. read more

I wish I could give this business 0 stars. As a professional business, you would expect better communication, transparency, and overall customer service to their patients. I have been dealing with broken teeth, crowns, bridges, and implants for nearly 3 years and have been nothing but disappointed appointment after appointment with Dr. Spooner and Dr. Gasca. After reaching my breaking point after having a failed implant with this office, and finally deciding to go for multiple second opinions, Dr. Spooner herself told me that I could receive my credit in a check as it is my money. A couple weeks later, I inquired about this credit and the process for receiving the check. Dr. Spooner told me that the credit was a "courtesy" if I were to continue service with them. She lied right to my face and then completely turned around and finally decided to be "courteous" with their services. When I arrived to the dentist office they had not called to confirm my benefits and the automated system for benefits confirmation was down that day. I had called my dental provider and got a hold of somebody they called into the office to confirm benefits and it has now been a week since I have heard from anybody at their office about getting an appointment set up. It was impossible to reschedule an appointment if the one you made 6 months prior didn't fit into your schedule, there was no reminder phone call prior to my appointment, and the overall experience made me so irritated that I decided to try another dentist. The front office staff is excellent - they provide a check in call prior to your visit and they're attentive in getting you checked in when you enter the office - you're never left sitting around for long! This place has honestly been one of the worst dentist, sleep apnea, etc. places. First off the service was extremely sketchy with how they did billing, etc. We have blue cross blue shield for insurance, as well as dental insurance. My husband went and they charged us out of pocket for something we knew insurance covered as we had called in advance to confirm. Then when we told them to bill insurance she claimed she couldn't because she isn't a doctor or some sketchy excuse considering what she was doing was medical. Regardless they ended up billing our insurance after we called for months to get this resolved with falcon. Our insurance paid them, as we knew they would, and now falcon owes us back. They have yet to pay us and it has been hours of calls with falcon to have them get the process going or try for resolution to get a check written for the money they are holding of ours that they owe us. They keep bouncing us from one to another saying it will be resolved and 7 months later still isn't. My time has been wasted on this and they could write a simple check for the amount but apparently can't figure that out either. Highly recommend not going here as it has been a nightmare. read more

Great follow-ups and no sales pitch in my past few visits. Very different than other dental offices that I have been visited in the past. Was a bit reserved at first due to some online reviews. Dr. Jake Hauser and his staff are very friendly and professional. I received good advice and sufficient information to decide on the dental works that I need to get done in each visit. The works were good and I don't feel uneasy or in pain after the medications wore off. The billing was upfront and clear. The office is clean (plus during a pandemic) and equipped with higher-end technology. I don't have to travel to other offices to perform other procedures which is a plus. Staff is very nice. However, they are exceptionally expensive and aggressive regarding treatment needed. I called to cancel appointment and was asked why, I told them their prices were excessive. They assured me they only charge what the insurance company allows so I should contact my insurance company and discuss the rates they approve. The insurance company pays what is coded. So I am of the opinion that this group up charges to the maximum for their procedures. They have a 3D crown printer in office and I wonder what percentage of patients need crowns. I got my crown redone by them the 2nd time yesterday, since it was not done right the first time. My appointment was at 3pm, I didn't leave the office until 730pm. YES!! You read that right 4.5 hours. I asked them, why you make your patient wait that long for a crown that is made inside the office. They told me ,they would have to charge me extra to give me a temporary crown, so that's why they made me wait 4.5 hours. Never again!! read more
