Avoid this place if you don't want to get ripped off. I went for a routine dental cleaning. After X-Ray and initial diagnosis, they suggested deep cleaning (which I agreed to). Then they quoted $1,000 out of pocket for the deep cleaning -- stacked with optional add-on charges (antibacterial irrigation, bacterial decontamination) that insurance flat-out doesn't cover. My husband had the same deep cleaning procedure done at this same office 7 months ago for a fraction of the price -- $198. I wrote to them asking for a revised quote without the optional procedures and never got a response. On top of that, no matter how early you check in, you're always waiting at least 30 minutes past your appointment time. Front desk staff are not pleasant to deal with either, so don't expect any warmth or willingness to help if you have questions about your bill. Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion elsewhere before you let this office anywhere near your mouth. read more

I've been here three times and tried to brush off my poor experiences to thinking they were stressed and overworked, but their processes are just plain bad. First appointment was at the end of the year (so everyone is trying in to make their appts, I get it, so I shut up, smiled, and dealt with it). I was so rushed even though /they/ were running behind, the cleaning was so sloppy, and the hygienist was visibly annoyed that she had to do a cleaning (that's what I was scheduled for...but they said they had to "squeeze me in?" Odd). The 2nd time they ran out of that biting stuff for the xray machine and had to make something for me to bite on to get the images they needed. Nice work to the tech for making it work, but management should have the supplies available for employees. They /also/ ran out of fluoride that day and asked me to come back another day /just/ for fluoride treatment. So I did--and then all of the staff was confused and couldn't make sense of why I was there when I came back to my scheduled visit. Do you not use scheduling notes to communicate with each other...? I got a bill stating I needed to pay $500+ out of pocket, and my insurance usually pays for all of it. I had no additional out of pocket services done. I had to physically go to the office to get it sorted and they told me "it's a notice, not a bill" and to just ignore it moving forward--I didn't actually owe anything. Okay...If I ignore it, and it's actually a bill...how do I know I don't owe something and get sent to collections? Shouldn't there a posted notice telling patients what to expect if they receive this? How would we know this if we didn't go out of our way to talk to staff? I went in for my 3rd appointment, and while the front desk staff is very kind and respectful, they told me my appointment was cancelled because I never confirmed it. I mean, if I scheduled the appointment....doesn't that mean I'll be there? Are we not adults here? No where in the text messages, voicemails, nor emails was there a notice stating my appointment would be cancelled if I didn't confirm. Again, they said they would "squeeze me in" but at that point I already experienced too many red flags and didn't want to deal with more inevitable headache, being rushed, and another "bill that's not actually a bill, but it might be a bill" situation. I really tried to make it work since my job is so close by, but it was just too much headache. Worst Dental Cleaning I've Ever Had I'm honestly shocked at how little effort Fallon Dental Group put into my visit. After waiting 10 minutes in the lobby (because the hygienist was out to lunch), I was finally called in--only to get a 10-minute cleaning that felt like absolutely nothing was done. No exaggeration. When I got home, my teeth felt exactly the same as when I walked in. I've never left a dental appointment wondering if they even cleaned my teeth at all. To make it worse, I never saw an actual dentist--only the hygienist, who spent the first few minutes trying to sell me a $500 deep cleaning I'd have to pay out of pocket. Spent more than 3 HOURS here for what we thought would be a normal cleaning. As a new patient, the regular check ups and exams were needed. Some of the gum was found to be receding so they recommended deep cleaning. We still wanted to do the normal cleaning only. However, they claim that since they diagnosed the gum was receding, they cannot perform normal cleaning and only deep cleaning. is this true??? I don't know if it's a policy of theirs or they are just trying to make more money. Lots of waiting in between each process, 15-20 mins of just being left alone (happened at least 3 times). There was little to no communication at all between the times when the hygienist or dentist leaves. The hygienist cleaned for some minutes then disappeared after saying they needed a "quick break". It was ok thinking it would be a 5-10 min wait. But they didn't come back for probably arojnd 30 min to 1hour. Extremely disappointed with my experience here. I booked an appointment for a regular cleaning and X-rays -- fully aware of some prior reviews mentioning that they push deep cleanings, but I decided to give them a fair chance. I spent TWO HOURS at this office -- time I took off work -- and all I received were X-rays. The dentist came in for maybe 2 seconds, glanced at my teeth, said I had a couple cavities but that everything looked good, asked if I had any questions, and left. Then came the predictable push: they recommended a deep cleaning for over $700 AFTER insurance. I politely declined and asked for the regular cleaning I scheduled. I was then told they'd need to "check with the dentist" since that's not what she recommended. Soon after, the hygienist came in and said they don't even offer regular cleanings unless I signed a consent form stating I'm going against the dentist's recommendation. I was then told for today they could simply "polish" my teeth, but it wouldn't accomplish much. It's truly upsetting to see a dental practice operate this way -- prioritizing profit over patient care. If your business model depends on upselling unnecessary treatments instead of providing the services patients book and expect, then maybe you choose the wrong profession. I'm a new patient at fallen Dental. Anytime I get some kind of dental work done I get very nervous and anxious, I've had bad experiences before so you can imagine what was going thru my head. I definitely recommend this office the staff was amazing so nice and very friendly. For the visit I had to get a cleaning done and the hygienist Nilofar was super sweet. Their office tried to charge for unnecessary services that weren't preauthorized and double billed for dental work that was included in another procedure. It took almost 10 months to get the claims resolved. During that time I got advice from an attorney, filed grievances with the insurance companies, received 2 refunds and the office manager still refused to document my refund. P.S. DO NOT GET DENTAL INSURANCE FROM LIBERTY DENTAL. Liberty preauthorized my dental work at Fallon Dental Group and then refused to pay claims as my primary insurance provider. I have been visiting this facility for the past several years. Of late there have been changes to this organization. Practices they follow now are very unfriendly and misleading. When I sought an appointment in February (2024), the front office changed me to a new provider, Dr. Brandon Diep. My insurance is with Delta Dental and the office staff are well aware of that information, but they changed the provider without disclosing to me that Dr. Brandon Diep is not in the network for Delta Dental. Delta Dental informs me that the provider Dr. Brandon Diep billed them at an out of network rate, which is much higher than the contract amount would be for the services that I received. Since it was an out of network claim, Delta Dental does not cover it the same way they cover an in-network claim, and thus my cost of the treatment has gone up significantly. Through the time when I called to make the appointment, and through the treatment, the office staff were completely aware that they were trapping me into an out of network bill, but did not give me any hint till they finally slapped me with a huge amount due! read more

Terrible from quality of work to misleading billing practices. I needed a crown for a chipped tooth in November 2021. The work was done poorly and ended up giving me an infection for which I was in excruciating pain and needed antibiotics and painkillers. A minor chip that caused no pain became a seriously painful issue. I had decided I was done with them at that point. However, fast forward to June 2022 when they finally send the claim to my insurance (probably figuring with it being so long I'd forget) and they over billed me. They charged me $603.40 more then the insurance claim allows. I called and they say I chose a crown that was more expensive. I wasn't given any choice. My paperwork doesn't say anything like that and the submitted amounts match. It's the allowable amount by the insurance that's different. Long story longer, stay away. I had a good experience with this provider. After examining my teeth and taking x-rays they recommended a deep cleaning which didn't surprise me at all, I felt like it was something needed in my case. The price they quoted for the deep clean was 1/4 of what another local dentist wanted, so I was very pleased (I felt the other dental group were shady, which is why I found Fallon Dental Group instead). My teeth are so white and clean now! I don't regret it at all. I kind of procrastinated getting my teeth fixed until mid December and of course by then I wanted to use up all my dental benefits; they didn't turn me away! they found some time for me, and I'm very grateful for that. They were obviously extremely busy being the end of the year rush, but they never made me feel like they didn't have time to take care of me. The dentist working on me Dr. Diep is from San Ramon, and he was great. It's so nice to see someone local to the area. Everyone was friendly and kind to me, from the office staff to the dental staff. They explained the pricing of everything I needed in detail and provided a printout showing what my insurance covered and my out of pocket cost, that's why I don't understand the reviews who complained that they were ambushed by the cost. As I walked in, I was greeted by the lovely receptionist and then take him back for my cleaning fairly quickly unlike other offices, were they make you wait and wait. I went there for deep cleaning and was given 4 local anesthesia without my permission, after two shots I intervened and asked why am I been given anesthesia, she said that's our normal procedure and haven't you done deep cleaning prior. Without local anesthesia it feels uncomfortable. I missed all my important meetings due to her stupidity and I've done 10-12 deep cleanings prior and was never given local anesthesia. I made an appointment as a new client through my husband's insurance policy. The phone call to book it was ridiculously long. They gathered a lot of info upfront so that they can input it into their fancy shmancy system. Once all of my info was entered, I confirmed the next available appointment through that system. They called me a day before to move my appointment to an hour earlier. Upon arrival, they did my initial x-rays, which was done by an "experienced" tech who wasn't even familiar with their system. That x-ray process took almost an hour. Upon getting seated and my teeth reviewed by a hygienist(?) for the much-loved number system based on how bad your gums are, she walks away, and I was confronted by the receptionist about proposed treatment(s). Why the receptionist?? Shouldn't the hygienist talk about the conditions of my teeth to me and recommend the treatments?? I was basically told by a mere receptionist that I have early stage of periodontitis and that I needed deep cleaning, which was quoted at $1,700. Yes, $1,700. I kid you not. If I opted out of it for now for a basic teeth cleaning, which they even didn't have time for (refer to next paragraph), they would refuse to provide any service to me the second time around unless I get the deep teeth cleaning. To add insult, whoever that was supposed to provide deep cleaning, wasn't even available that day, so I had to book a separate appt for the deep cleaning. What was the point of coming in that day for a "general cleaning as a new client" and coming in earlier to accommodate their shitty scheduling system? I've been to better practices who were very honest and cost-effective. In fact, I went back to my old practice that wasnt covered by my husband's insurance company, and they told me that I didn't even need a deep cleaning. This place is basically trying to game the dental insurance companies for max payout without even caring about what your general needs are. Stay away from them at all costs! Just horrible! Dr. Tamhane performed my most - recent gum surgery and I am unfortunately quite familiar with gum surgery due to my genetically poor, receding gums. Although this group has changed ownership, they have not improved their billing practices. Recently had a filling for a chipped tooth and I was charged over 2 times the amount I should have paid. When I signed and paid at the office, I stated I thought this was more than I should be paying. Called my insurance company when I got home and they concurred I was overbilled. Had some resistance for reimbursement from the office management, but I persisted and they finally said they would post a credit to my credit card. We'll see. I would recommend you take a copy of your dental plan with you when you go here for treatment. Have also been done the deep cleaning routine with me. Think that is the latest money maker for them. *** BEWARE AND READ *** I had just relocated to CA and looking for a new dentist. Fallon Dental was close by, clean, and had new technology. In 2020, I came to Fallon Dental for an annual cleaning and to watch for a molar that was wearing down due to grinding my teeth while sleeping. I got a night guard. Everything was normal. In 2021 (maybe under the new ownership), during my 6 month cleaning they insisted on getting a crown to prevent cracking and preventative pain. At that time, that tooth showed no sensitivity or pain. I decided to listen to their expert advice as that tooth was on watch for some years now and I didn't want it to crack unexpectedly and be in tremendous pain. Following the procedure, I NOW HAVE sensitivity issues for the past 2 years. I've asked them about 3 times (1 post crown check-up + 2 annual cleanings) and they said everything was sealed and looked fine. And said that my gums may be receding and that a deep cleaning will help. The deep cleaning made things worse and caused sensitivity on other tooths as well. I had flossed and added a tooth water flosser to my daily and they still said I needed a deep cleaning. Now that I'm reading other reviews, it's like everyone is being asked to get deep cleaning. Deep cleaning is no fun. They numb you and pretty much dig into your gums so it bleeds and takes a layer of your gums off. In addition, I had asked for a refill to a prescription I had from another dentist. The dentist took a picture and then placed the prescription at the nearest pharmacy. When I picked it up, I noticed it was a different prescription item for sore gums. I messaged the Dr 2 times (saw the email was read) and NO RESPONSE! She PRESCRIBED ME THE WRONG PERSCRIPTION!!! Lastly, my insurance plan covers 100% dental insurance. Note, I've never had to pay for a normal routine cleaning. So why is it now I have to pay $500+ while I have insurance for a normal cleaning? Why am I getting charged for fluoride, when that's a normal practice and no one told me I was getting charged for it. Now they are asking patients to get routine cleanings 3 times a year instead of 2. So shady! They even remembered our names walking in! We have had two Dentists there. One left the state. Great chairside manners. All of them. Even the x-ray and techs and specially the deep cleaner folks. Being almost at the Livermore border east. It's worth the drive. The lead practice dentist was personal and spent time explaining procedures necessary for my loved one in detail the way I needed to hear. Yes. Modern equipment and 360° digital x-ray. Movies. TV. Headphones. Tea/k-cup type coffee. TV out front as well as each treatment room. They worked with our two insurances and self pay plan for our lower amounts as well. Had a dental outside plan too. Cleric was used on a couple of spouses sealing and ceramic permancy of three teeth. Hygentist was patient as the patient was not. Thanks for understanding. The Office Manager was always on top if issues to flow the atmosphere smoothly. Bi-lingual in many cultures as well as English. Had after hours emergency contacts and made things simpler. They are both very professional and courteous. Everyone working there is very professional and knowledgeable including the front desk. They have Guest WiFi. Thank God for that. T-mobile service isn't very well in Tri-valley area. I have the procedure that needs to be done. I did it last May in the right area. And august in the left. They charged me with their estimated quote after each procedure since insurance usually doesn't cover the procedure.( As per them) So I paid and did the procedure. Lucky me, My insurance covered some of it and they need to refund me. I got the refund for the May procedure and credited it for the August procedure. Now , I need a refund from the August procedure. I called and they 1st said that they did refund it from the card that was used. 7 to 10 days passed, I didn't receive anything. I called again and they said, because of the amount, it will be a check on the mail. So I still waited for another week. Still nothing. Now it's already Oct and all they did to me is to put me on hold. Always! Every time I call, it's like I need to tell the story over and over again because it seems like they don't know that I'm waiting for my refund. I have never been seen by a team so unprofessional. I went in for an exam X-rays and cleaning. Before they would clean my teeth they ran the numbers first. I could not afford the deep cleaning at this time so they went to get paperwork for me to sign that said I was passing on deep cleaning and just proceeding with regular cleaning. They then came back without paperwork and started no one was able to clean my teeth to finish the exam as the dentist was now with another patient and the hygienist on lunch. It took them 20 minutes to run the numbers. If they couldn't complete the exam they should have called me in the morning to advise I wouldn't get what they were billing my insurance company for. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for dental work. Dr. Boparai and her staff are fantastic. I needed substantial dental work done. She walked me through it as painlessly as possible and gave me options. I trust her so much my 3 boys are also patience of hers. Had a service performed at Fallon Dental Group and was charged an additional out-of-pocket of $700.00. When checking the insurance claims listed on the insurer's website I noticed a non-listed dental code. The insurance company said this could be for a laser treatment, but also indicated that this procedure is included with the initial service and shouldn't be charged separately. When contacting Fallon dental it was clear they would be less than cooperative about this. My only recourse was to file a dispute/claim with the insurance company about these bogus charges. Needles to day I won't be returning to them again. When it comes to dental office visits have a copy of your insurance plan document (i.e. evidence of coverage) with you. Never trust a dental office to give you accurate insurance information. As they say, "knowledge is power". read more

After a few visits, I am completely repulsed by the way this dental office is run. My most recent visit left me a sour taste with how they handled themselves. The front desk receptionist Sabrina is horrible, to say the least, she lacks basic customer service skills and compliments it with a bad attitude. Blamed the discrepancy in price on my insurance and the new people in training (she is the one training them), refused to accept any blame for the miscommunication and completely unapologetic. On top of all of this, the work that was done is questionable. I had a sore gum for a week from the injections and currently still in pain when I eat where the treatment was done (2 weeks ago). Not exactly what I would call a good job. Dr. Boparai did not even double check the source of pain, she just immediately began working on her previous "recommendation". The place is a total rip off. They always try to upsell you on the most expensive and often unnecessary procedure, do not honor the estimates they previously provided and pretend that they can't locate them, do not provide any adequate explanation as to why you need the most expensive treatment, etc. The receptionist is horrendous and hard to deal with. Getting a copy of the receipt for your past visit is a very challenging task. I only went there because it was close to home, but will be going back to my regular dentist who has integrity and is trustworthy. read more

STAY AWAY!! SUPER SHADY! Don't trust this place! I have warned you!! I regret not yelping this place first before coming in. I am forever haunted by this mistake! If I can give this place a zero, I would! I feel like I have been duped by getting treatments that wasn't necessary. And paid an arm and a leg for all of it, which I did not even have to begin with. But because the dentist said I needed it to get it done before all my teeth falls out, I TRUSTED the dentist's suggestion. You would think a dentist would know what's best, right?!! Now that I got all the treatments done, I get this letter in mail saying that I am now RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING that was done!! I want to know why this place did not check if my insurance covered those treatments!! Or how come the dentist did not tell me that my insurance plan does not cover those treatments, would I like to still proceed with the treatments or not?! WTF??!!! read more
