As a Workday workmate, I want to share my concerns about All in One Dental's billing practices since many of our coworkers are treated there. My husband received a crown several years ago with an initial quote of $1,000, which we paid in full. My family had been going here for the past 2-3 yrs and we've had great experiences. The doctors have been great, the office is nice and clean and very local to us. However recently we had a very disturbing and quite opposite experience than what we were used to. We had appointments on 4/7 for the family to get our regular check up and cleaning. My wife, myself and my 2 yr old son. My wife opted for fluoride and was charged $35 out of pocket which she paid that day. My son unfortunately was not having it and did not allow the doctor to get inside his mouth so she mostly just took a peek and said he looked ok, mind you no cleaning no X-rays and if you wanna call peeking inside his mouth as he's throwing a tantrum an exam then so be it. Anyway I had unfortunately lost my job on 3/28 about a week before our visit. I was certain that I had coverage for 30 days after I lost my job but apparently that wasn't the case. I was terminated from my insurance 3 days after being let go. I was not aware of this until I got a call from the office stating that my insurance had denied the claims. I explained what happened about my job loss and that I was looking into COBRA coverage. They told me they'd give me a week and then wanted an update. At this time there is a lot going on in my life so this was not a priority for me. Anyhow I was looking into COBRA but also was looking into covered California coverage and these things take time to get answers to. The office continued calling, emailing, and texting me about payment. At this point it felt a bit harassing. About this time I get claim forms from delta dental my insurance provider for the service dates. Not looking fully at the document I see a section that says $0 so I assume they paid. I contacted the office and said it appears as if they paid and they are confused because they said they never received payment. So I agree to come in with the document to show them. When I do they point out the area where it is not covered. I felt a bit foolish at this point and she then tells me that her manager gave me a discount so I could just pay that amount. But looking at the bill I realize that my son and I are being charged for fluoride application and my son is being charged for an exam and cleaning. I try and explain that we never got fluoride and my son definitely did not get a cleaning nor an exam. She said that she would need to speak with her manager. I told her that this is insurance fraud and that I would be reporting this to the BBB and delta dental. I ended up getting the COBRA coverage and I think they just re billed them because I never heard back. This whole situation just put a bad taste in my mouth because now I can't trust this office and their office manager was very aggressive and rude when trying to collect payment. She would not try and understand my situation even for a minute. It's too bad to because I really liked this office. Please look over your claim bill's carefully and make sure you aren't being charged for services never rendered. read more

I came a bit disappointed from court after the judge dismissed the case because it "expired the time frame limit" to have the courts hear my case regarding the dental work that Doctor James Huang performed. Some facts and this Is my opinion at this time.- I have been seeing Dr James from 2017- 2021. I paid Dr James Huang close to 50, 000.00 dollars in fees and at the and of 2021 my family took me in to have Dr James do a procedure in which to regenerate the gums "in order to save the implants" and he said that it will take about a year or so for the gums to regenerate. But towards the end of 2022 I started to have pain-so in other words the implants failed and I did not know if the implants could be saved or not. . Plus I found out in 2023 January - that he placed two different colors for the implants. (We had to wear masks for so long due to Covid). He also was supposed to fix the gap between the implants - which he never did. But that was the upper jaw. On the lower jaw He was originally only supposed to have one implant but the implant failed and then Dr James decided to do a bridge but that also broke in 2023. When I reached out to him to see if he can fix the implants and the bridge-His office texted me that per Dr James - He is very firm in not wanting to see me anymore- so to me that meant that it was a refusal of him to look at why all the work he did failed. Thus I had ended up in having to go to another general dentist who stated that I need a specialist to fix this. When the work failed at the end of 2022 - me and another person contacted Dr James Huang and both of us met with him in which he stated that he would be able to reimburse me the money after he looks over the records. But that was almost the last I heard from HIM- he purely lied to us that his lawyers will get back to us about reimbursement . And I believed HIM so I waited . and I waited too long because I never heard back from His lawyers. There were no calls or any emails or any post office mail. The only problem that I am having is that in order to fix all the failed dental work that was performed by Doctor James Huang the cost was another 80,000 dollars and another two years of pain and suffering. Suffering is a lot worse when removing failed implants than the first surgery to have them placed in......The more implants a dentist does the more money a dentist makes - that's a lot of money- especially since I just paid appx 50,000 dollars to Dr James - Implants are not Cheap. In my opinion I believe he's concern was more about Money than my case and to quote Dr James message to me "My consultant has been on us for the outstanding balance on your account. It is really throwing off our metrics. .....I know we have the right side to restore but the implants are placed already. That will be a whole new charge. But before we do so, l'd like to kindly ask that you help us regain our unbalanced metrics and clear our accounts receivable so we can further continue and finish your dental work."...but to me it's not all About money - it's more about the fact that if Dr James thought I was a medically difficult case in terms of All My medical issues why was I not offered a Referral to a specialist from the beginning. So To everyone that is ever considering a doctor for implants please make sure you always get a second opinion first- and go to a Prosthodontics Dentist- one that is specifically trained in implants.. Just like in medicine - if you want heart surgery done you go to a heart surgeon not a dermatologist- it's the same in dentistry apperantly. The new general dentist that I have seen said that my case is too complicated and I have to see a Prosthodontics dentist- did not even know that there are specialists just in implants. And for everyone out there DO NOT FORGET- there is a two year limit on a personal injury case. They were recommended to me by a friend. They billed me without giving me an estimate first so when my treatment was done and I was told it was $900 my jaw dropped. I asked several times prior what the cost would be and I was told a different price. It would have been nice to know first. It wasn't Dr James who treated me, it was someone else. My crown is not the color of my teeth and very short. My bite is off and chewing is uncomfortable. The clinic is totally fraud. I went to this clinic for the first time for my tooth extraction, because it broke. The doctor mentioned that extraction can't be done without bone grafting, which I agreed. After the procedure is performed, the billing department applied for insurance for 1 extraction and 2 bone grafting (before the procedure they mentioned only one). My delta dental insurance covered both extraction and one of the bone grafting. They rejected the other bone grafting, saying that the other one is for repairing an existing tooth and should not be done, when the extraction is performed. I called the insurance and the clinic billing multiple times. The Insurance totally surprised that the doctor was trying to extract and repair the same tooth on the same day. That's why, even if both bone graftings are covered under the insurance, since they both are opposite of what should be done on the same day, they are not covered as a same day procedure. Even if, I and insurance tried to convince the doctor, the doctor didn't budge. Also even if the maximum allowed fee for the rejected bone grafting was only around $350 (where I should be paying only 20% as co-pay), the doctor charged over $750. In the end, what was covered under my insurance, because of this fraud by the doctor and clinic, I had to pay an extra $600 out of my pocket. Afterwards, I cancelled all my future appointments for me and my family and left this clinic for good. read more

Based on the glowing Yelp reviews, I chose this dentist after moving to the tri-valley area. After 2 visits, I have decided not to return. I am much happier with my new dentist (per recommendation from both my neighbors), despite their Yelp reviews being much poorer. The problems I had with All in One dental were not major, but enough to turn me off. 1) For both of my cleanings, they billed my dental insurance for some kind of cancer screening. I do not recall receiving this screening, but if I did, they did not tell me they were doing this. My insurance did not cover this, and the office did not bill me for it, but I do not appreciate the lack of transparency. My new dentist always tells me if something out of the ordinary is going to be billed to my insurance (e.g., an impromptu consultation with their in-house endodontist). 2) I've attached a handout I received from All in One called "Insurance 101". While I understand the sentiment of the handout, "FACT 5" made me laugh out loud. "Did you know that dental practices on the East Coast require that patients pay for services in full at the time of service and get reimbursed by their dental plan after they submit claim forms themselves?" -- I lived in NJ for 8 years and saw 3 dentists (you can see my Yelp review for my favorite dentist in NJ, in case you ever move there!) and never once had to submit my own claims (so long as my dentist was in network). This insurance handout is so condescending and gives the false impression that this practice is doing you a huge favor, when IME, they are doing what any normal dental practice should be doing (if they are in network). This thing screams "Red Flag" to me. If you do not care if they bill your insurance randomly for things as long as they don't bill it to you, or need Saturday appointments, then these guys are fine. If you care about transparency, I would recommend asking people you know in real life for recommendations. I simply do not trust Yelp reviews for health care services anymore. I think it is unusual for a dental practice to have so many reviews period on Yelp -- especially when this practice exists in a strip mall that has at least 4 other dental practices side by side. They have done a great job marketing. read more

Be aware of the billing. I had some work done on my teeth in December 2019 then in March 2020. A few months later in July 2020, they called me to tell me that I owe them more than $1,000. This was about additional 25% of my total bill. They told me that my insurance paid less for the dental work that was done in December. I went back in March so I wonder why they didn't tell me about this in March? My maximum insurance payment is $1500 per year. How can they mis-estimate Insurace payment by 75%? After questioning a few things, they said it's $478 and not $1,000. I'm very disappointed about this shady and unprofessional billing and charges. I have never encountered this with any other dentist. Please be very careful about payments and billing. You could end up paying 10, 20 or 30% more after you are done. Dr. James and his whole staff is great! I had some bony/hard tissue growing out of my gums and after a couple google searches, of course I had feared the worst. Concern for osteosarcoma (malignant bone cancer) I immediately called Dr. James's office right away and they were able to schedule me in quickly. At his office I was able to get a detailed CT scan and was relieved to find out that it was just a benign bone growth know as exostosis. He reassured me that it was a common benign condition and nothing to do if I'm asymptomatic and he would continue to monitor during our routine checkups at his office. I am lucky that Doctor James DDS has been my dentist for 10+ years. He saved my teeth and, thus, my overall health over the years. Let me start out by saying I am a germ phoebe that suffers from PTSD and Panic disorder (not the easiest of patients to have in the chair, lol) I arrived at my first appointment with significant repairs needed. Scary! We (yep, I was involved) created a lengthy treatment plan. They explained EVERY procedure and cost and presented alternative options. I asked questions, and they were answered. Not one person in the office ever made me feel ashamed or embarrassed about the state of my dental health or the rate I could afford to address the issues. The All In One Dental Innovations team's goal was to get me well. Their office offers all the bells and whistles. The doctors stay very well versed in new technology but are still not afraid to use old-school common sense problem-solving. When I had emergency dental needs, Doctor James has always been there for me. Him and his staff have always checked-in after all procedures (big or small, and when I say checked in, I mean the Drs. themselves called as well as Moose" Office staff personnel"). I have spent many hours in their dental chair, and everyone has been exceedingly kind and patient. I do not often post on Yelp, but my visit with the office this last week 02/11/2021 inspired me to sing their praises. As Doctor James has always said that he is all about function over vanity, but in my case, I have lived the better part of my life with a smile I would hide (and that is hard because I like to smile). I think Doctor James knew how important this was for me, so he made it happen. With all this COVID-19 stuff I was still nervous (more then usual), but once I saw all the extra precautions him and the staff had made with special filter system in each room, extra cleaning and masks and gloves on everyone, including testing the staff for IGg/IGm related to the COVID-19. I was all in and ready for the chair. For me this was very emotional, and Doctor James listened to my requests and just dove in, to be honest, I did not feel a thing and at no time did I feel anxious about the procedure, but anxious to see the amazing results. Took a trip here for the first time and was continuous thereafter. Clean location and area. I can see how the receptionist is very accommodating and they really take care of you. I had to hold off on reviewing until I became a regular for fair review. I noticed a few things. It seems that they were too in a hurry when coming in and asking questions for consultations. It's very rude to stand up while you are conversing with a patient just to try to meet with another. I suggest waiting off until the patient is done asking questions and ask them first if there is anything else that you can help them with just for them to feel safe and cared for. Second, based on the other reviews. I did notice that people mentioned they had to pay more out of pocket later on. I too was able to receive a bill 2 months after the procedure and thought I was already taken care of through my insurance as well as paying in house when I walked out. Little did I know that I was to receive something in the mail of a balance. I'll take care of this, but it's quite a surprise when you were told "You're all set!" when leaving the dentist. read more

I've recently relocated here from socal and as such, I've had to let go my dentist of over 20 years. Aretha Franklin's "I will survive" started running in my head but then I remembered there was All-in-One Dental. A bunch of my family members live up here in norcal and I remembered they all went here. I was long overdue for a cleaning and check up so I figured I would go ahead and arrange an appointment. The girl at the front desk was genuinely helpful and kind over the phone. She got me setup right away with an appointment. The coolest thing was I even got text messages confirming my appointment and reminder calls to make sure I remembered. I forget things really easily with my hectic schedule so this was definitely helpful. I drove myself all the way from South SF but it was worth the drive. I don't want to exaggerate things but after this experience, I will never look at other dentists offices the same again. Dr. James and his staff were the most welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable ever. Their equipment is so state of the art, I've never been able to see my own x-rays in such detail and have them explained to me was so cool too. The cleaning and exam was extremely thorough. All the equipment was new and clean. They really took their time and checked me out real good. They even have this cool oral cancer screening device and luckily I was cancer free in my mouth lol! Sometimes going to the dentist, or doctor can be really intimidating but the staff here really made me feel at home. They really go the whole mile to make sure you are well taken care of and recommend honestly if there is anything that needs attention. It's difficult to find a professional, knowledgable, and friendly dental office but after coming here again, I am at peace because I have finally found the one. read more

I had a slight emergency a few weeks ago and couldn't bite down on my left side. I was desperate to see Dr. J. With no appointment made, Dr. J was able to squeeze me in and asked what the problem was. After explaining the sharp pain I was experiencing, I just wanted him to rip the tooth out of my mouth! Dr. J fired up his tools and with a little buzz-buzz, drill-drill....RELIEF!! Dr. J saved my tooth!! I came back a few weeks later for my scheduled cleaning. He checked on that troubling tooth, did a little more fixing, and I can now chew on steak, salami, hard bread...bring it on!!! NO PAIN! I hate making appointments to go to the dentist. I hate going to the dentist. But I love walking out with a slippery set of pearly whites. I swear All-In-One Dental has an identity issue - it thinks its a day spa! Seriously. Super clean and what i can only describe as serene inside. Went in for general cleaning, and everyone from the front desk to my hygenist were genuinely very nice. In fact, maybe too nice. While my mouth was open and being stuffed with all kinds of stainless, she started to ask me a bunch of questions. Some i could nod to, but others required a more detailed response. I mumbled best i could. Ha Anyway, got done pretty quick but i never felt rushed like at other places. Checkout was just as smooth as check in. I've been going to All in One for a while now. In the beginning, I thought it was amazing. The staff was friendly, Dr. Huang was friendly, but then over the last couple years things changed. I've noticed a lot of turnover with his employees. I had adverse affects after a crown (necrosis). I've had multiple people calls to confirm the same appointments, as if they weren't communicating or documenting their work-which was really annoying, but I decided to give them another chance. There's been more too, but I'm just going to focus on the recent. Yesterday, was my final straw. To start, I received multiple texts/emails to confirm my appointment and was then told that my son's appointment would be given to people on a wait-list, even though I confirmed it already!! During my son's cleaning the dental assistant broke his glued in retainer while flossing (they forgot to floss my teeth during my cleaning). Dr. Huang "seemed" to repair it on the spot with bonding, but a couple hours later when we were home, my son said the wire was poking out. When I emailed Dr. Huang pictures of the retainer, he said it was a faulty retainer and that they need to be replaced after so many years and to have my son's orthodontists replace it. The retainer is 2 years old. We went in with an intact retainer and now have a broken one. I feel like I've given numerous chances and it's just time to move on. read more

I would give this place no stars if possible. 1)They push cosmetic dentistry onto you without looking for a cost effective alternative first. I just want to fix my gaps caused by me not adhering to wearing my retainers after Invisalign. So I thought why not refer me to some other practice or give me an option which my insurance covers. I then stated I wasn't happy with my teeth due to grinding. So the doctor tells me the best thing to do is cosmetic dentistry with a temporary wax that would cost me around $1200 and veneers for 8 teeth that would cost me $1300 for each tooth. Over $11K out of pocket ?????!!! All I want is the gap fixed first and foremost. Then I ask the front desk, can I just get 2 of the teeth that have gaps done and she tells me that's not gonna look right. Not once but a couple times when I kept on insisting till she said hold on let me ask the doctor. And obviously he was in the bathroom. How are you going to tell me that I can't fix just two teeth which is what I wanted in the first place, to fix my gaps and possibly work on the remaining issues when time and money permits? The dentist tells you to go with most costly way of fixing a minor gap instead of working with me to find the best cost effective treatment that my insurance will cover. 2)They lie about what your insurance covers at the time of fillers or implants so you end up paying one portion out of pocket at the time of appointment assuring you that that's all you need to pay out of pocket and then a month later you get a bill for a couple hundred more that you need to pay in addition because your insurance didn't cover it. They obviously are not aware of what your insurance covers and what it doesn't. They're NOT honest. I'm fine with them being upscale but don't lie to me about what I have fo pay out pocket ALSO stop with the rude behavior ! In the note that came with the extra out of pocket cost, it was stated that "you and your family members will no longer be seen at the practice if you do not pay this bill" WTF?!!!! No notice. So rude. All they care about is money. After talk to the front desk person today and addressing all my concerns above, she pretty much said "I don't understand what your problem is? You can get those two tooth done but it won't look right." The receptionist and front desk person told me I have to get in touch with my insurance to see how much my insurance covers for implants and crowns . Back in 2018, they told me that the insurance covers 70% but they NEVER said the insurance is "estimated" to cover 70% and that I would get billed possibly more. Had I known that up front, then I would be fine. 3)The dentist treats you like a number and not like a patient. I brought my 9 year old son here once and the dentist yelled at him to the point where my son was in tears. I never brought my son back. Having all the latest and greatest technology in dentistry DOES NOT make you a good dentistry. Very rude and shady! I've been a client since 2014. That's 7 years and this is how you treat me? How sad. All I want is transparency, honesty, respect and GOOD customer service. At the very least good customer service. I feel you guys can do better. It's NOT cool that you guys treat me like this after I've been with you this long and bit my tongue when I questioned your process before. NOT COOL. Enough is enough. If they can't get their billing right avoid going! There are a couple dozen dentistries in the complex itself, not to mention so many other's in the Tri-Valley area that actually treat you like a patient and know what they're doing. I came here for the 1st time and Dr. Huang did my check up and let me know a few concern and provided me lots of information and answer as well as what he suggested I should do. His assistant Rebecca did the cleaning and polishing and she was nice and sweet. The receptionist Jennifer is the cutest and sweetest girl with lots of knowledge of information as well. I was impressed that she knew the information and was very helpful with insurance questions and booking me in advance. Totally recommend this place and I called my friends to switch dentist since it's closer to home. read more

I've been a patient at All in One since 2009 (wow!) but I don't think I've ever left a review. I've been living in the South Bay for a long time now, but I make the commute to see Dr. Huang because everything about his practice is so great. I've never had to wait too long for an appointment, they're super accommodating with rescheduling, the staff is polite and considerate, and Dr. Huang's work has made my teeth look so much better, as well as inspired me to take better care of them on my own time. I would definitely recommend coming to this office if you're still deciding, because I've always had an excellent experience. read more
