I have been coming here since I was a kid! My twin brother and I would ride our bikes at least two miles here. Every day in the summer this place is packed. You can find most of the local kids coming here for ice cream. Cute barn style shop. Family owned! Its surrounded by other little shops and across the street is the drug mart. Seating is mostly outside but there is also a small restaurant attached to it. Parking here can be tight at times but there's street parking sometimes and parking across the street too. They always have fun flavors and the ice cream is thick and creamy! YUMMY! Their scoops are HUGE as well. Lovely. When the town has heritage days the whole area is POPPIN! Love the ice cream! It's been couple years since I was here. Woman taking my order was attempting to put it in computer for the fourth time and was acting irritated with me the entire time. All I wanted was two scoops w one certain flavor on the bottom and the second one on top. She ended up having such an attitude with me I walked away and the other two I was with orders theirs. There is no need act rude explaining the single and double size vs how every other ice cream place does it. I remembered once she was saying it but she didn't have to talk to me like I was a freaking idiot nuisance. If it weren't for the two people I was with, I would have told her to "buzz" off and left without anything. This first (of what is destined to be many) visit to Falls Ice Cream was a happy accident. The wife and I were wandering around Grand Pacific Junction on a weekday evening with the intention of leaving to indulge our sweet teeth elsewhere, when we came across the shop and insinuated ourselves into the steadily moving line. There's not much room inside the shop. A couple of small coolers with a variety of ice cream flavors and a few friendly staff members. On top of the standards, there were also some more tantalizing flavors (the names are escaping me, but trust me, they looked great). We both opted for junior scoops, which are easily the size of a regular elsewhere and together they were less than five dollars. Once we paid and sat down outside at one of the cast iron tables, we were in ice cream heaven. I opted for the Boston Cream Pie, and the wife ordered some kind of chocolate-peanut butter-pretzel-explosion. The Ice cream was REALLY rich, very smooth and tasted fantastic. If we were a little more adventurous (or less full), we probably would have opted for one of the homemade chocolate chip or m&m cones, which would only have enhanced the experience. If you live in the area, this is a must visit. If you don't live in the area, it's probably a bit of a hike to get to Grand Pacific Junction to visit Falls Ice Cream, but it's most likely worth your while. read more

Walked in and a teen working the counter was very pleasant. I liked the fact that the person handling the ice cream cones was wearing a pair of gloves to keep the food clean. (DISCLAIMER: I WOULD GIVE A 4.5 IF I COULD) Falls Ice Cream is located in a quaint, set back little town in Downtown Olmsted Falls. There is parking everywhere, with signs telling where it is. The ice cream shop is set back in the "village", and it is not visible from Columbia. However, you will recognize and know the "village" if you look at one picture of Falls Ice Cream's storefront. You can easily access the shop from 480 and 71, with about a 8 minute drive from the highway to the shop from both. We got the non-dairy cookies and cream, and the non-dairy mint chocolate chip. They are amazing and the creamiest vegan ice cream I have ever had. Most vegan ice cream tastes like flavored ice, this did not! Sadly, we sampled some of the sorbets, and they were freezer burnt. I know that they just cannot sell enough of it, but if it was fresh, it would have been good. There are plenty of places to sit; tables at Falls, steps and porches, park benches, and even a large gazebo a minute's walk away! If you bring children who are obsessed with trains, there is a non-running two car train in the back to look at by the gazebo! The only downside to Falls is they way you get your ice cream scooped. Everybody crowds into the place, and they serve whoever seems the most determined to get served. You have to stomp your foot down and tell them you are ready so you are not waiting to order for hours. Some kind of system to the ordering (maybe deli tickets?) would be nice! Also, they are definitely understaffed, they usually have about 3 people working, when they should have at least 4, maybe 5. Also, they have plenty of toppings and syrups, but they are not on display. If you would like any on your ice cream (1 free, each one after for a small fee), just ask and see if they have it, because they may. I love the atmosphere there, but they definitely may need to move to another unit if the serving process becomes more of a problem. read more
