Parking was difficult to find and they were slammed on a Wednesday night. Once inside, I found the flavor board. It was extensive, 20+ options, both with dairy and vegan options. Even tho the line was long, the well organized staff greeted every guest with a smile and quickly filled their orders. One of my favorite ice cream places in Ohio! Mitchell's ice cream is a trademark of Ohio. In a pool of lots of competition(Graters, Handel's, etc) they continue to shine with the flavors of ice cream they serve and excellent service. They have a great atmosphere to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Great for family or grabbing that bite of ice cream after lunch/dinner or on the fly. My wife and I always rotate among ice cream places and we've determined when it comes to the base layer of ice cream, Mitchell's does it the best. The base layer of ice cream is always a hit. Even a simple vanilla bean is packed with flavor. My go-to is always a turtle sundae. I really enjoy the sauces they use for sundae's. Very rich! My wife tried the seasonal tiramisu flavor yesterday and loved it. She's a huge tiramisu lover and she already wants to go back for more. Highly recommend Mitchell's to any ice cream fan. read more

We had a chocolate mint ice cream with hot forget for my wife... and their turtle sundae, which had chocolate peanutbuttter ice cream, hot carmel, fudge, pecans wiped cream, and a burgandy cherry It was delicious! the staff was amazing, and the line was out the door at 8:45 and was moving quickly. I've been a Mitchell's fan since the beginning when I was kid; my family and I would attend the one in the original Westlake location fairly regularly, especially in the summer. It was a great treat! I would always get the chocolate milkshake. Over the years, though, I don't know what it is, but the ice cream just hasn't been as good as it used to be. I'm big on milkshakes, so I will usually get chocolate, cookies and cream, or peanut butter chocolate. But unfortunately, every time I come here, I'm disappointed in the taste. This isn't the case at other ice cream places around the area that I go to, so I know it's not necessarily me. Such a cool place to eat. Super clean, and incredibly kind and patient staff. The ice cream is so good, and even a single scoop is enough to feed an adult, they scoop very generously! Very kid friendly as well, with a coloring table for kids and a train that tracks around the building roof area. Visiting from L.A I was blessed enough to stop by and grab ice cream here! My life has never been the same and I cannot wait to go to Ohio again for this ice cream alone. I even checked to see if they offered shipping to L.A since a few places did this during the Covid shutdowns. I love ice cream. It is one of my guilty pleasures. Getting older my tastes have changed. I like what I would consider old man flavors when I was a kid. The butter pecans, walnut, and ice cream that doesn't have to be sweet but walks the lines between salty and sweet. Today was the autumn apple. First time trying Mitchell's... We got the Buckeye ice cream (one the "Favorites" menu) and a peanut butter shake. The Buckeye was peanut butter ice cream topped with hot fudge, a generous amount of chocolate shavings, real thick whipped cream, and a cherry. Great combo of ingredients! The shake was super thick, also topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, needed a spoon because it wouldn't come thru the straw. Something tasted a little "off" with it though. Maybe it just wasn't as sweet as the ice cream we had. They were pretty packed but worked well together to keep the line moving fairly quickly. Staff is very friendly too! They have outdoor seating but it was a bit cold today so we sat inside. What in the hell is wrong with me people? Seriously, I want to slap myself with a wet waffle cone. This has to be the coolest ice cream shop on the planet. Simple, modern and the interior of this building is B-E-A-utiful! The dome cieling, the train and all the natural light really make this place stand out. Located on Detroit Rd near Costco, this is a great location to be in. Lots of traffic and an area that has really been built up in the past decade. Plenty of parking and easily accessible as well. Service here was phenomenal. The young girls taking care of us were full of smiles, lots of patience and really made the experience perfect. We tried several (and by several I mean at least 10) flavors and finally settled on the vegan chocolate and the vegan salted pecan. PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE, these flavors changed my life. But beware, they are super sweet. Thank goodness we split them. A little goes a LONG way. It is rare to try vegan ice cream that is creamy and not gritty. They have this down to a science. They were even more creamy than the real thing IMHONSHO (in my humble or not so humble opinion.) Their mission to use local and well-sourced​ ingredients made my heart smile. This is the most delicious ice cream I've ever had in my life. I got a peanut butter fudge sundae with toasted hazelnut ice cream. The ice cream isn't overly sweet, it's just right. The peanut butter sauce and fudge sauce were both delectable. And it was enough for at least 2, maybe even 3 people to share. And at a reasonable cost too. THE BEST PART ABOUT CLEVELAND. Amazing ice cream, plenty of flavors. Honestly, not much else to say about it. It's creamy, never icy. It's never overly sweet or skimping on mix-ins. The flavors never taste artificial and the fruit ones are especially fresh. They have seasonal flavors as well. If you buy to go pints or quarts they'll give you some small cones to take home as well. I found out last night that the hype was true. This local ice cream shop has some of the best ice cream I have ever tasted. My hippy side was super grateful that they had vegan options. Mitchell's is a Cleveland classic! What's not to like? The Avon location is great! It's very clean with plenty of seating both inside and outside. The parking lot is a bit small, but there's plenty of extra parking behind the building by the old Bar 145. The workers at this location are awesome...super friendly and they keep the line moving quickly. Mitchell's ice cream is made fresh at their Ohio City factory using local ingredients. I've never had a flavor that I didn't like, but my go-tos are the Key Lime Pie, Banana Cream Pie, and the Vegan Salted Caramel Pecan. Their seasonal flavors are fantastic too! Props to this delightful ice cream shop for its friendly and cheerful staff, colorful and vibrant ambience (love the miniature train set that circles around the entire store), large serving size and placement of scoops that utilize the entire real estate of the cone, large chunks of candy in each bite, flavors that taste exactly how you'd expect based on the name, and last but not least the ingenious cone design with a twist at the bottom to prevent melted drips, allowing you to slow down and savor each bite. I want to make special note of their key lime pie (perfectly tart and refreshing) and their cookie dough ice cream (milky and soft with the sweetest chunks of cookie dough).
