Whenever Chris or Nova began a trip, they called to update me on the status--even if the trip didn't directly involve me. Duzak went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. When we requested a final private viewing at the crematory, they readily agreed without hesitation. Where do I start with Honor Memorial? We used this company on our family's recommendation because…read morethey did a great job. However, this was not our experience at all. Let's start with the fact that it took 3 hours after the original call for them to pick up my father, in the heat. After one person arrived, we still waited for a co-worker from Ann Arbor to arrive, an additional 30 minutes before he was taken into their care. Joe called me around 12 that day to let me know he would call later with information. He never called; in fact, every time Joe said he would call me back, he never did. I called almost every day to get information on what was happening with the body and what paperwork and such we needed to do. Finally, around Wednesday/Thursday, we received the paperwork to have him "taken into their care" and give them the ability to cremate. On Friday, 7/17, I called looking for an update and was told by Joe that he was "confident" my father would be ready on Tuesday. He also said he would call. I honestly did not wait for Joe to call because of his track record with calling me back. When I called on Tuesday afternoon, they did not have my father's death certificates back or his death certificate, and blamed it on the county circuit court. Finally, after much frustration, I called on Wednesday and demanded to know when I could pick up my father. Joe then went on to have a conversation with me about my gaslighting, implying that we had discussed timelines and how much the service cost before. We had in fact never had these conversations; the only time we spoke in length was when he was trying to convince my family that we shouldn't see his body.....which I wonder why?? He went as far as to say it might traumatize us. Finally, my mother and I went to pick up his ashes and death certificates on Wednesday. We then took Thursday to recover mentally and physically, as my mother and I are both disabled. Imagine my surprise when Joe called me multiple times on Friday about a review that my sister-in-law had left. She had apparently left a negative review, and he wanted to talk to me about it. He continued to try to tell me information about my experience that was untrue. In fact, I was so confused about what he was talking about that I put him on speaker, and my immediate family sat in awe. I would not recommend this place at all. If I could leave less than one star, I would. It seems like they are more concerned with being a body factory, picking up way too many people than they can handle, and not keeping families in the loop. Please take your loved one somewhere else; maybe they will be more concerned about their clients and less concerned about their reviews.

Generations Funeral and Cremaion Services were very easy to work with- our brother's death (like…read moremany other families- his death was very unexpected) and although we knew my brother wanted Direct Cremation -his children had no idea of a provider for these services nor did I (being from Texas). When I spoke with my sister about this, she advised that Generations Funeral and Crematory services advertised in Saint Francis Church Bulletin and since I often go to church virtually at Saint Francis here in Ann Arbor and she was a parishioner for years there, I decided to give them a call. I thought that we would have to arrange everything in advance but that was not the case. All three providers that I contacted told me that I could just call when the time came and we needed their services. When our brother died we gave them a call and they were able to assist us in getting all the paperwork we needed in order to proceed with direct cremation. They made it very simple and since we were a bit of a distance all we had to do was send them the signed paperwork by email. At that point I contacted them to pay for this and it was a very reasonable amount. They picked my brother up at the morgue at the hospital and transported him into their care. They obtained all the licensing and permits and transported him to the crematorium. He was cremated within a few days and then his ashes were returned to the Ann Arbor location so that it was very easy for us to get there and pick them up. While I was there they gave me very good guidance. I will be flying home eventually and there are issues with transporting ashes across state lines and of course getting through security so instead of placing them in a small urn that I had purchased, Nancy (I hope that is her name!) was kind enough to package some up for me in a little clear container so that I can show it at the airport and I can go through security, they also provided me with the paperwork I will need to show related to the cremains. We were very pleased with their services and felt that the customer service in particular was exceptional. We would recommend them for any type of funeral services from direct cremation to a regular burial. I believe they do it all.

They kept thinking ashes and information was to be picked up and the order was to mail. Had no address even though it was given. There was just constant confusion. Do something else if you are able. The frustration will last for weeks
