Let's start with the fact that it took 3 hours after the original call for them to pick up my father, in the heat. After one person arrived, we still waited for a co-worker from Ann Arbor to arrive, an additional 30 minutes before he was taken into their care. Joe called me around 12 that day to let me know he would call later with information. He never called; in fact, every time Joe said he would call me back, he never did. I called almost every day to get information on what was happening with the body and what paperwork and such we needed to do. Finally, around Wednesday/Thursday, we received the paperwork to have him "taken into their care" and give them the ability to cremate. On Friday, 7/17, I called looking for an update and was told by Joe that he was "confident" my father would be ready on Tuesday. He also said he would call. I honestly did not wait for Joe to call because of his track record with calling me back. When I called on Tuesday afternoon, they did not have my father's death certificates back or his death certificate, and blamed it on the county circuit court. Finally, after much frustration, I called on Wednesday and demanded to know when I could pick up my father. Joe then went on to have a conversation with me about my gaslighting, implying that we had discussed timelines and how much the service cost before. We had in fact never had these conversations; the only time we spoke in length was when he was trying to convince my family that we shouldn't see his body.....which I wonder why?? He went as far as to say it might traumatize us. Finally, my mother and I went to pick up his ashes and death certificates on Wednesday. We then took Thursday to recover mentally and physically, as my mother and I are both disabled. Imagine my surprise when Joe called me multiple times on Friday about a review that my sister-in-law had left. She had apparently left a negative review, and he wanted to talk to me about it. He continued to try to tell me information about my experience that was untrue. In fact, I was so confused about what he was talking about that I put him on speaker, and my immediate family sat in awe. I would not recommend this place at all. If I could leave less than one star, I would. It seems like they are more concerned with being a body factory, picking up way too many people than they can handle, and not keeping families in the loop. Please take your loved one somewhere else; maybe they will be more concerned about their clients and less concerned about their reviews.

We went up soon after to discuss services and pricing. The place itself is gorgeous; bright, welcoming. Not stuffy or sad. You can tell it's been recently updated. We were comfortable in the lobby and in the consultation room. We were offered complimentary bottled water, which is nice when you're bone dry from crying for hours straight. We made it clear from the beginning we didn't want a funeral or even viewing service. The salesperson was respectful of that and moved forward with going over cremation services. The cremation service itself is carried out by another company and was only like $600? But for some reason, the funeral home charges almost $3000 on top of that for their time and services. That seems wild to me for someone who didn't want viewing, mourning services, visitation, etc. It's expensive to live and it's expensive to die. The salesperson was friendly and mostly respectful, although we could hear the misogyny when he spoke to my husband directly, and not his sister, who was actually handling all the business. Don't like that. But he accommodated all of our simple requests without fuss. Besides the oldschool mentality of our salesperson, it was a fine place to spend a couple hours talking about a dead person.

Whenever Chris or Nova began a trip, they called to update me on the status--even if the trip didn't directly involve me. Duzak went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. When we requested a final private viewing at the crematory, they readily agreed without hesitation. They even drove to our home to pick up the clothing and delivered copies of the death certificates they had collected from the county office--without us having to ask. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would…read more When my beloved mother passed away on March 15, I was already in deep grief--but what made things even harder was dealing with unexpected complications surrounding her prepaid funeral arrangements. She had thoughtfully paid for everything 32 years in advance, intending to spare us any burden. Unfortunately, after the original funeral home owner retired and transferred her contract to another funeral home, I encountered a very distressing situation with them that was dismissive, rude, and suddenly demanding additional money despite previously telling me everything was fully covered. I was shocked, overwhelmed, and honestly heartbroken all over again. That's when I found Mr. Patrick Lynch and Lynch & Sons Funeral Home--and everything changed. I called after hours on Friday and left a message, not expecting to hear back until Monday. To my surprise, Patrick Lynch called me back within 10 minutes. He spent 45 minutes on the phone with me, patiently explaining everything, going over the other funeral home's statement line by line, and helping me understand what was actually going on. He was calm, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. More importantly, he genuinely cared. For the first time since my mom passed, I felt a sense of peace and relief. I immediately knew I wanted to move my mother into their care. The next morning at exactly 10 AM, just as promised, his son Paddy Lynch called me. From that point on, everything was seamless. Paddy was kind, attentive, and so easy to work with. He handled every detail with grace and professionalism, making a very difficult process feel manageable. They helped me create a funeral that was truly beautiful and elegant--far beyond anything I could have hoped for. Even though my mother was not embalmed and went directly to the church, everything was handled flawlessly. One of the most special touches was the Juilliard-trained violinist, Sonia they arranged, which made the service incredibly moving and unforgettable. The entire experience was handled with such sensitivity, dignity, and care. In a time of deep grief and despair, Patrick and Paddy Lynch were not just helpful-- they were a source of light, compassion, comfort, strength and steady support. They treated me like family, not just a client. My mother's funeral was absolutely perfect--graceful, meaningful, and filled with love. I will be forever grateful to them for guiding me through one of the hardest moments of my life. I cannot recommend Lynch & Sons Funeral Home highly enough. If you want compassionate, honest, and truly exceptional care for your loved one, this is the place to go.
