Bernadette and John were AMAZING! They helped me plan my entire wedding remotely. I had a lot of grand ideas that Bernadette helped me realize, and she advised me when I had bad ideas (like things that would fly around the beach in the breeze or favors that would have been a waste of money). I was very anxious because we don't live in Key West and weren't able to travel down for tastings or trials. I was sent many options for table decor, transportation, hotel options for our guests, bands, DJ's, florists, hair and makeup artists and so much more! Bernadette gave me her insights and then I made my decision. She is an EXPERT on Key West weddings and found ways for us to save money on food, transportation, and hotels- so we were able to spend more money on our band and other little touches we wanted. Bernadette worked with our venue to make the cost per person lower for food, bargained to allow us to bring a bottle of sambucca (the venue wanted to charge a shot per guest), and hired two different trolley services so there were no wasted seats or costs. I also wanted to do a "signature drink" with prosecco and cotton candy, but the venue wanted to charge a ridiculous amount, so Bernadette and her team personally put some cotton candy on each glass of Champagne for the toasts. She truly went above and beyond to make our dreams come true within our budget! There were so many times I felt overwhelmed because I couldn't see anything for myself, and Bernadette would answer my call and reassure me that she had everything under control and tell me all the things she had going on behind the scenes to make our vision come true. We hired her husband, John, to be our photographer and having the two of them work together made the perfect team! Bernadette knew me and my style after spending a year planning together, so she was able to convey that to John and get some AWESOME shots! Bernadette was always on the ball and I felt like I was her only bride even though she had weddings and other events just about every weekend. Bernadette had done many many weddings at our ceremony and reception venues and gave me the best advice about set-up, transportation to and from the ceremony/reception, and table set-ups to withstand the ocean breeze. Every vendor I talked to (florist, hair and makeup, equipment, etc. ) all RAVED about Bernadette and said they love working with her because she's so organized and has done so many Key West weddings. I cannot recommend Family Affair enough! We had a destination wedding, so a wedding planner was needed. This team was more than we could have ever asked for. Usually, the bride and groom are VERY stressed with wedding plan; however, having Family Affair, we had no stress whatsoever. We met once in person during the wedding planning process; otherwise, everything was done through email/calls. They were able to carry out every one of my visions for my dream wedding perfectly. They were VERY easy to get ahold of and could answer all of my questions in a very timely manner. They not only carried out the perfect wedding, but also helped to arrange transportation and hotels for all 75 of our guests. They also helped to plan/schedule our events leading up to the wedding (welcome party and rehearsal dinner with bar and catering). Being so far away it is hard to know about all of the different vendors; family affair arranged ALL of our vendors who were FABULOUS. We exchanged visions/pictures back and forth (for things such as cake, flowers, decor, etc) and family affair took it from there. From our photography, to food, to cake/dessert, to DJ, to decor and florals, every one was absolutely amazing. Our guests traveled from all over the country to come and everyone could not stop raving about entire wedding. Family Affair made our dreams come true with the most perfect destination wedding we could have ever asked for! Because of Family Affair, we were able to actually enjoy our wedding weekend and celebrate with everyone who traveled to be there with us. First, I just want to say that if you want to have a perfect day for your wedding, then go to Family Affair! My husband and I had our big day at Southernmost Beach Resort 9/29/18. We started getting in touch with Family Affair, or specifically Ms. Bernadette McCall back in March. She has always been very kind and very helpful! I really really love how she always takes the initiative so that everything keeps going forward! Also whenever I have questions she will answer them all. Her team is awesome. They made the day stress-free for me by taking care of all the details. My maid of honor and her family's flight was delayed and they were about to miss the rehearsal. We hired Family Affair for the photography for our wedding and they were absolutely fantastic! We did the First Look, and the photos we got from them of us and our two best friends going around Key West before the wedding are absolutely priceless. It was definitely well worth it!! Additionally, we had Family Affair provide our Day of Planner as well. For a while we were not going to do any sort of wedding planner for our big day, but eventually realized that it was worth the extra money if it meant that the day would go off smoothly and without issue. Well, that is exactly what we got! I can only imagine the debacle the vendors would have encountered when they arrived at our venue if there wasn't a planner there to coordinate all the setup. We had the pleasure of working with Mel & Kay while planning and preparing for our wedding day. They were wonderful - very professional. They took the time to listen to our wishes and helped us pull all our thoughts together keeping the process stress free along the way. On the wedding day, everything was perfect.
