What I don't really like is when store's use the word "dollar" in their name, but DON'T sell everything in the store for one dollar or less. For instance, "Family Dollar" (which, ironically, is RIGHT next door to this store) doesn't sell everything for a dollar, and previous stores I used to go to (Dollar Plus in Dedham, Dollar Plus in Walpole, both of which have closed). Anyway, this store isn't a dollar store, but thankfully didn't call themselves it. I had to do a double-take to realize the actual name of the store. It's really called "Super Discount Store". In the past, driving by, and until today I thought it said "Super Dollar Store". Anyway, this store is great. It has some of the best discounts around and a great stock of everything. I have one major complaint. The smell of the store. When walking into anywhere, it should smell great, or at least passable. I didn't notice if they sold any air fresheners, but if they do they should spray some around, and if not, management should walk next door to Family Dollar and buy one for the store, the Febreze "spring" edition would be nice. Anyhow, this stores best variety is clothing. They have good clothing at reasonable prices, and an extra large selection of "Boston" wear, and summer sandals. Other than that, all of the departments are mostly pretty good. The storage and container department was a bit overpriced, but other than that, everything from medical to toys to office supplies was all priced well and had a good, decent inventory. The lady working was friendly, kind, seemed to be working hard to keep the store clean (good employee!). Overall, this is a good discount store that I will be coming back to and purchasing more from. 4 stars.

I went in wanting to buy some designer glasses and another customer was already running around the store trying to get someone to open the cases to try on some glasses. Once she found help for us, I asked if I could try a couple on too. I was told by the sales associate that only one person at a time can be helped. Fine. I waited for another 10 minutes for the other client to choose which glasses she would buy. The sales associate then told me she had to go help them at the register and needed to find the cases for the glasses too. Another 15 minutes went by. At that point I just left. They're clearly not interested in making a sale. Such a shame because before this lock up situation, I used to buy all my glasses from this location. Looks like I'll need to find another store.

There was a return we had to from a bday gift for a family member which we lost the actual receipt for and didn't scan our snkrs / nike + app on purchase. Since my husband and I moved to Cambridge five and a half years ago for his graduate program, we've acquired almost all of our furniture here - everything from a leather couch and armchair set in excellent condition for a reasonable $600 to a gorgeous Crate and Barrel kitchen table for a mere $40. We've also purchased bookshelves, end tables, lamps, desks, and more. Obviously by virtue of fact that the furniture is by donation, there are always going to be some ugly or low-quality items to weed through, but I'd say it's well worth the time. As has been noted, the hours are very limited: currently Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. If possible, I'd strongly recommend arriving promptly at 10, especially on Saturdays: within 15 to 30 minutes of opening, often much of the best inventory has already been claimed.

Today I went in and there was no organic broccoli so I went for the regular broccoli which was all going bad. They were stocking while I was there I went to the box of broccoli crowns they were going to stock and they were also all going bad. They have had no red onions available for a few days. I tried to get organic avocados and most of the bags had bad avocados. The produce department seems to be having issues either with management or very unreliable vendors. I try and avoid this store whenever possible. A few days ago I purchased a bag of sweet potatoes because they were out of single sweet potatoes and 3 of the potatoes were mold. Shop at your own risk.
