Not everything is a big bargain but mostly it's all priced pretty well. If you know your prices you won't overpay, but keep in mind it's not ALL cheaper than you could find elsewhere. They have a lot of food items, although some of them are close to expiration, but often it doesn't matter at all since the expiration dates don't mean much and you can freeze things as well. They have a lot of cheeses at super bargain prices, and also chocolates that would cost you 3 times as much elsewhere. Chocolates don't really go bad quickly either. Overall it's a great place to check out if you are in the area and looking for some bargains and close outs!

Now, you might think nowadays you can just go to Target or Walmart for such things but you'd be wrong. It is kind of amazing how much stores like that *do not* have. That is where stores like KK Discount Store come into play. Back in the 80's and 90's (even the early 2000's) there were at least 4-5 stores in Chinatown that sold these kind of wares, but no longer. KK remains one of the last ones and I am so thankful it is there. As soon as you walk up to the store you see a ton of products outside the store. Sponges, soaps, things to hang your laundry, organizers, strainers...I'm not kidding when I say you could spend hours just going through every single little thing this store has. Inside are several aisles worth of housewares. There is an aisle with pots, pans and other cooking instruments. Another aisle has bowls, plates and utensils. Yet, a different aisle has items like incense. On a recent visit I was looking for a container for bar soap for me to carry to the gym. I tried Target and other bigger stores first but it was Ultimately KK that had what I needed! The couple that runs the shop are super nice and always open to questions about where to find a product. This store is also very reasonably priced. I recently purchased a couple scouring pads and it only cost me $1.50! I'm sure they would have been more at Home Depot or something (assuming they even had them). This may not be the most touristy spot to visit in Chinatown but I think stores like this are valuable to the fabric of the community and they have a lot to offer. Give KK a visit!

After asking several times to honor the price on the sign, Ricky the manager says, "the deal's over. We forgot to change the sign". The female employee next to him rang up the item 4 times in a row at the wrong price; while Ricky watched and said nothing from 2 feet away. Then says "I was with a customer " And found it funny. Extremely unprofessional business ethic. Being rude to customers is final straw.

So how are their brands? Not bad, but not that great, somewhere in the middle. That is makes stores like this good, if brand recognition and low prices are what you're after, you'll enjoy it. As soon as I opened the box and test sprayed it, IT SMELLED awful. it felt like a cheap ripoff bootleg. The smell was completely different. They must be selling counterfeit goods. At least they didn't give me a problem when I returned it. The dude test sprayed it and promptly refunded me.
