Came here during our visit to NYC. Muji specializes in minimalist Japanese items (clothing, toiletries, food, furniture, and home goods to name a few). We perused the store and they had a great selection of assorted items. They even had an electronic coffee/tea bar to grab a drink while in-store. We purchased some beauty items and small storage containers. The value of some of the items was great and the service at checkout was good. Muji is located in Hudson Yards on the second floor. This is a Japanese minimalist store, concentrating on goods for the home, foods and clothing. They have a barista bot who serves coffee, latte, and Matcha. It was interesting to watch it in action as some customer purchased coffee. A very streamlined process. Street and lot parking. Muji is overall a terrific stop for a lot of commonly used household goods. Let's start with the basics, this location is with the Shops at Hudson Yards and opened several years ago. This particular location is one of the larger Mujis in Manhattan, there are several areas within this site--walking in the displays start with stationary, gifts and trinkets, seasonal items, room fragrance vaporizers. Packaged pantry items start towards the middle of the store, mostly snacks, condiments/sauces and drink mixes, no actual fresh groceries. Followed by kitchen and dishware, and a robot coffee stand which is exactly what it sounds like--you can order coffee (not customizable and no non-dairy options) from a touch screen and it's made by a robot. Additional home goods, luggage, storage, furniture accessories and bedding round out this area and the rest of the store is men's, women's and some kids apparel, underwear and accessories. The products here are mostly neutral toned and utilitarian. I'm personally curious how well the apparel in particular sell since the styling reflects probably a more Japanese aesthetic than American. The prices are mid-range. I appreciate that for their clothing it looks like they try to use sustainable materials, some of its organic cotton and other synthetic materials they've denoted as recycled. read more

Walked around as we were walking around Hudson Yards. The store is huge and has so many things. Hubs called it an Asian Target so to speak. They had clothes, home items, all sorts of things. And the store was clean and organized. The smell of the store was also amazing. I'd say the value was also good. Shirts at $19.99 which was actually cheaper than most of that quality. What can I say other than I get the reference to ikea, but then again, I don't. Clear similarities and even more differences. My daughter, the minimalist, says this is the place to be. She comes here all the time. Might be the whole concept went straight over my head. They definitely have you covered stationary wise. Must be some very high quality stuff for the cost. I'm told it's sought after, so there you go! We had a fun time browsing but not seriously purchasing much. Everything from shoes to suitcases and furniture. The store itself is a nice little adventure. Well kept and the folks are decent. I'm not sure we'd return but it's not them, it's us. I was unfamiliar with this retail establishment, which I discovered during a recent trip to NYC. It is a cross between IKEA and Uniqlo with both housewares and clothing. One of my favorite features was the robot making coffee. The clothing was quality, and the price points were great - the sale items (winter clearance) were even better. I am a nut for small housewares, and this place did not disappoint with dishes, cups, storage items, travel accessories, and many office/desk supplies. I loved the experience and left the store with two dresses, socks, a winter scarf, and a small crossbody storage pouch. I will order additional items online and check out their retail stores in larger cities. The floor staff only engaged with customers once, and in a place like NYC, maybe just letting people shop is a good thing. read more

One of the coolest stores I've seen in a while. Sort of a cross between Ikea and Create and Barrel with everything from stationary to clothing. As I walked around this store at Hudson Yards, I became more and more intrigued. Around every corner was a new experience and the store is big. At first I thought it was just a stationary store with some cool paper goods, then I spotted draw inserts ( can you ever have enough draw inserts?), then there was a large selection of wooden bowls and platters, beautiful diffusers with their private label aromatherapy and essential oils, that smelled delicious, and of course, I cant forget to mention, clothing! Muji has a huge beautiful store in the Shops at Hudson Yards. I was informed by the very nice sales associate that some items are pricey because they are imported from Japan. It's a very eclectic selection of merchandise. As far as the containers for storage, pens and some basic items I feel they can't compete with big box stores. There's a lot of special items I like for travel. I'd consider purchasing travel items if I go on a long trip. There's too many different types of unusual items for me to attempt to describe everything. It's definitely a Flagship Muji Store to me. I love this place!!!!!! My kids love it more! They have so much stuff! Reminds us of being in Japan! The kids love the snack area with different cookies and cakes and chocolates! I love looking at all the homeware and snacks. This place is always quite busy, but very organized! I love the coffee here! It's made by a robot!!!!! I'm ordered an americano and it was good! Came into this Muji store which is located inside Hudson Yards which is the shopping mall next to the Vessel. It is a pretty big muji store that has selection of clothes, furniture, snacks and also accessories for like school supplies. I like combing into this store to see what they have on clothes. I have bought a few styles and they also have different sizes to choose from. If your looking for some really cute loose fitting dresses I would stop in here and find them. They also have a lot of different snacks that I buy for later. Strawberry marshmallows are one of my favorites. I also enjoy the bean bags that they have. I haven't purchased one but I have sat on them and they feel super comfortable. If your moving into a new apartment I would say stop by here first to see what you can incorporate into your space. I was falsely accused of shoplifting from this store. They stopped me in front of other shoppers and demanded to go through my things. I explained I had a backpack because I was visiting a friend. Regardless they rifled through my personal belongings, embarrassing me in front of everyone. When they found nothing they refused to apologize. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who walked in with a backpack but I was the only one stopped on my way out. Even worse, somehow throughout the scene my newly purchased gloves went missing. So I spent $20 to get accused of shoplifting and walk out empty handed. read more

I am a big fan of their pens, and went in hoping to find ink refills. But alas, they didn't have any...so I just bought new ones! (Checked on Muji's website: the ink refills are $1, new pens are $1.50) The staff here were super helpful, and when they couldn't find something (the ink refills) the guy helping me asked a couple more coworkers before giving me the definitive "no". I usually stay by the stationary station, but wandered off to the home section where I found ~house slippers~ for like, 10 bucks!! Super comfy, been wearing them everyday now since I bought them. I attempted to return a shirt I purchased at the Chelsea location to The Hudson Yards location that had all tags attached and a receipt, I purchased a week ago because of fit. I'm definitely partial towards Muji. Everything about the store is so relaxing and calming. You enter and see all the humidifiers and if you're a like me, you rush over to smell the new types of scents they have. My favorite thing about the store is the office supplies section. You know how every procrastinator loves office supplies. I'm a fan of thin ink pens. So the ink flows out super thin. Just my preference. With most gel pens, the ink flows out too thick. This place has different varieties of the pens. There are so many small supplies that are just adorable and can easily fit into your bag without taking up too much space. They have a clothing section which ranges from scarves, gloves and even t shirts and then yu walk into the kitchen section. This place is easily a great distraction for everyone. First time at this location, found it a bit confusing finding items. But I do love these stores, they carry a great selection of small storage supplies for traveling. And my other favorite items are their office supplies, pens and pencils, and other cool appliances for getting the desk job done. I have these really cool travel scissors that fit closed like a pen, I can carry in my purse. They're small scissors not super strong, but boy they've come in handy so many times! Spacious store that's well maintained and filled with staff ready to help. This is probably the most friendly MUJI I've been to. After entering the store for five minutes I was greeted no less than ten times. The weekend I was there, MUJI has several 30-50% sales and that was a great, unexpected surprise! Tip if you're going to visit, take the M34 SBS bus instead of the 7 train and you'll save yourself and your feet a few hundred steps! read more

This is the best MUJI location in NY. Their security doesn't breath down your neck and they let you shop in peace, which is more in line with the lifestyle that MUJI is trying to sell. This location also has a nice robot coffee maker! The other MUJI locations have incompetent staff that goofs around too much or power-tripping security if you look a certain way, lol. If you are looking to pick up a few items quickly and you are around the area and you cannot find a Target, I would recommend Muji I suppose. I generally gravitate straight to the stationery section. I like the pens and pen holders. THAT'S IT. The lines can be long especially if you have a return and/or exchange. They have to wait for a fake keyholder to authorize the return or exchange. It would be nice if the employees can use some manners and not just say you have to wait. You work in Hudson Yards for christ sake! Also do not pay with apple pay. The manager Ellen here doesn't understand apple pay and won't give you a refund even if you have the receipt and the banking transaction at Muji. She also does this stupid "Have a good day" line 6 times. Yes, you have a good day too for being so useless. read more

Like other Muji's, this one was well organized and clean. Their snack selection is rather limited though. They do have an embroidery station and a coffee station as well which is pretty cool. Love the variety of stamps they have there that you could use to stamp your notebooks with. Staff is helpful and friendly. read more

Like most MUJI locations, this store was also really tidy and neat. It wasn't very crowded when I went (which was around 8pm). But the main reason why I wanted to write this review was because of the thoughtful cashier that worked there that night. I'm guessing he noticed the brace I was wearing on my right hand and decided to fold my receipt. This made it more convenient for me to place into my small wallet. I thought this was really polite of him to do so! Even if it was protocol, it was a small act that left a lasting impression on me. I love MUJI. OCD heaven here! It has everything I need, from home goods to stationary, to clothes and your travel needs. I find myself always stopping by this store whenever I'm at the mall because not only is it super inviting, they always have something I feel like I want to buy, or didn't know I needed. A lot of my things are from the MUJI store, and I am very happy with all of my purchases. This location especially is very big, and you can find yourself spending about 30 minutes in here. It's a nice Muji but because of the hype of hudson yards, it is very crowded. The free sample giveaway food is great and I think it's different everyday. But because of the crowd, the items that are on sale were gone pretty quickly so I couldnt get the cotton pad I wanted. I would suggest them having enough stocks for the sales items if they knew they're going to be out of stock very fast! read more

MUJI recently opened up a location at 20 Hudson Yards and I've only been to one other one in NYC. This one is a pretty decent sized store ranging from clothes to household items. The crowd on the weekends is pretty packed, but during the week it's pretty easy to get in there and browse around for whatever items you're looking for. I love MUJI! They have such great stationary that is minimalistic and modern. Their pens are some of my fav cause they come in a variety of colors and sizes for the ball tip. I really enjoy that when you walk in there are diffusers with fresh aromas filling the space. Ive never tried or purchased their clothing but it seems to be good quality and price. This is a pretty decent sized store for it being in the mall. Not as big as the one I think on fifth but they will have most of what you're looking for without the crazy crowd. read more

This was the largest MUJI I've ever seen. It is located inside Hudson Yards mall area. I bought mini strawberry pies here for $3.99. They were really delicious and cute. They were individually wrapped. I also got a $5 long shoe horn here. Their houseware items are pretty expensive. They had chopsticks for $8 per pair. You can get 10% off if you present a student ID card. They have an area where you can get a custom stitched book bag. They have both mens and womens clothes. The clothes are pretty basic and are limited to muted, neutral colors like grey, white, black, khaki and blue. The fit of the clothes are Japanese-style. This space is very organized and clean. They have an area with bean bag chairs where yuo can lounge. They even have a cafe inside where you can order drinks to drink in the store. They are also known for their pen selection. They have a good selection of luggages and travelware. They have some items on sale for clearance but their sale section is pretty small. read more

I came here when they are having Memorial Weekend sales and there's a lot of promotion going on. For clearance item, they have extra 50% off for most women & men clothing. If you purchase more than 2 clearance items, you get extra 30% off all your clearance purchases. As for facial products, you get extra 30% off for 2 or more items. The staffs who work there are very friendly and helpful. The store is a bit crowded on weekend and there's some seat available in the store. read more

We Returned the next day to Enganche for Sheets and basket.
