Hannaford has been engaged in false advertising for the last 2-3 years on the content and quality…read moreof its sea scallops. It has been selling (as for example this week, beginning October 27, 2024) sea scallops on sale for $12.99 per pound for a saving of $13.50 per pound, a FANTASTIC sale but it is false!!! They claim that they are dry scallops but they are wet and that is a big difference. I had bought about 8 pounds on sale about two or so years ago (at the Mill Creek Hannaford) and it was the same story. I bought 1 pound last year. The same story. Hannaford is selling wet scallops as dry scallops. I called Hannaford last year and complained. They are selling these as dry scallops, but they are not! They are wet. Whole Foods and Harbor Fish sell dry scallops around $24-26 per pound. And they are dry. Yesterday on October 27, I went to the Hannaford store on Payne Road to buy a pound of scallops. I asked the man behind the counter twice if they were dry. He replied yes twice. I bought just 1 pound because I was unsure after my earlier experiences at Hannaford. I got home and sautéd them with garlic. And low and behold a milky substance oozed out. THEY WERE WET. This is false advertising. It is fraud. Today I called Hannaford customer service. I was on hold for about 25 minutes and asked for a call back from an executive. We will see if they care. I threw away some of their scallops when I bought a bunch 2-3 years ago and again yesterday. And I have spent about 45 minutes on the phone last year and this year. If this is Hannaford's idea of customer care, I wonder what is their customer abuse?

If I could use a zero here, I would. I have been a customer of the N Windham store for over 20…read moreyears and have been a customer of the Hannaford to go since it began. I picked up an order on a Wednesday. The coleslaw from that order had a due date of the 6th and it was the 3rd. I opened it and it was bad so I called the Hannaford to Go. I explained what happened to a $2.29 bag of slaw and was put on hold. The person who addressed me was the general manager of the store. I related the issue and then asked that I was curious why he was called. He stated that I had called about products previously and just wanted to be sure it was on the level. I can truthfully say that I was flabbergasted at the idea that a customer would be referred to as not being honest about products that were obviously tainted, spoiled, and so forth! The prices on these items were minuscule compared my dropping of 150 to 200 hundred dollars and more once a week. He said that they didn't receive a lot of calls and I stated that he didn't because people would rather toss the spoiled item away rather than go through what I just did. I further informed him that after 20 years, I was done with Hannaford. The store is filthy. They are always out of products. It has gone down the tubes progressively over the past five years or so. What a crock! Managers are not well-trained either and are below standards that were in place when Jared was there. Associates are rude and barely look at the person who is checking out. Far cry from what this store-chain used to be. Plenty of others around including Wal-Mart, Shaw's, B.J.'s, IGA -- not to mention on-line. I tried to reach someone in the corporate office -- forget it. One could get through to the White House more easily.

Marden's has been a Maine staple for such a long time. If you grew up in Maine or been here long…read moreenough you likely have heard or seen their famous jingle and/or could even remember the "Marden's Lady". Over the years I have visited quite a large portion of the Marden's stores. I will say I believe this is one of the better locations and one of the largest I think. For selection I would say this location has such a huge variety of everything you could imagine plus so many items you wouldn't expect! You will go in looking to buy say a pair of socks or a rug and wind up walking out with a hammer, garden hose, snacks, and who knows what else. Along with the variety you can definitely find deals that are cheaper than anywhere else. I've found you can find some of the best deals on clothing here. Some other items are just worth passing on though oppositely. Have had no major complaints service wise here at all. Friendly staff although checking out may be a bit slower at times. Despite this and the fact some items really aren't worth buying overall a great store to stop at and browse for some good deals!

There is soooo much here. If you see something you want and you think you might want or need it,…read morejust buy it. The stock rotates constantly and there are always people there scouring for store for deals, whether they are buying for themselves or buying to resell. The store is as organized as they can get it, with things changing over so much, they pretty much just organize by the percentage of discount (center of the store) or by the typical "department store categories" The staff seemed to be ok. Very busy and focused - on products or moving customers through the lines efficiently. They definitely were all working hard from what I could see. The parking lot is always 3/4 full.

A few steps up and we opened the door to a Pandora's box of goodies! Cool vibe with good music to accompany your shopping adventure. Clearly marked racks made finding sizes and designs easy. Prices were good, some items were priced well below what I anticipated while other pieces were spot on worth wise. Everything I looked at was clean and in good shape, ready for a new home. Really though the purple furry jacket would have been the cats meow for his GF but we passed it by. Incredible and organized selection with so many TOP notch finds…read more Also, FINALLY a vintage store that is organized by size. I can't even begin to name how many pieces at other (non size organized) stores that I've fallen in love with and realized would not fit me. As a final thing that's sent this into 5 stars- it has been a long time since I've been to a vintage shop with such a high level of size inclusivity. As someone who has fluctuated in size throughout the years (yet my love of vintage remains), being able to shop in the xl - plus range was an absolute dream. If I lived in the area, I would be there on a biweekly basis because I just know I would keep finding incredible things.
