I happened upon Proofing Behavior's via the Clipper Magazine back in March. At the time Ziggy had gotten away from me again and chased a small child through the neighborhood. The good news is the child was not hurt (just frightened) bad news is this wasn't the first time and I was beyond exhausted trying to control my baby boy. Ziggy is only two years old, after getting him in the house after that incident, I got the mail and found the magazine and there on the back was the coupon. I thought this was providence and called them right away Jim returned my call and within 2 days he was at my front door ready to start training. Unfortunately covid-19 hit and we had to postpone training until late June early July I am happy to say 8 weeks later both Ziggy and I have graduated on the loose leash training and the overall commands to sit and stay. I cannot say enough about how great this is and what peace of mind I now have when I go outside with Ziggy. He listens, he pays attention, he looks for my cues and all of this would not have been possible without Jim and the techniques he brings. He got me through some REALLY tough times over the past ten years, and honestly I'm not sure how I would have gotten through the pandemic without him. So knowing his time with me was coming to a close, I left it in his hands to tell me when it was time to go. And, unfortunately, that was the day he woke up and his eyes said simply, "Enough." The staff was attentive and kind from the jump. An examination revealed the options, but it was obvious that whatever was happening was quite serious - and I was given a breakdown of potential next steps. Of course with Sid's age, putting him down was also an option, and I already knew this is what we were going with. I did not receive any pressure to run any preliminary tests, procedures, or additional costs. I was simply told what the options were, and provided with an honest opinion of what the outcomes could be. And all options sucked. BUT it was obvious that the people helping me genuinely cared, and it made the heartbreak just a tiny bit easier. I had never had to do this before and I came in with Sid alone, so the vet guided me through what we were doing, what was next, and gave me ample time in between to say goodbye. Again, no real way to make these things less painful, but there was something in the attention and care I was receiving that made me feel like I wasn't going through it alone. The staff was going through it with me. I also received a beautiful card in the mail from them afterwards, hand-signed with a personal message from each - and this small gesture brought such warmth to my heart that I felt I had to share it. I spent 3+ hours there but it didn't feel like it. I was able to be by his side the entire time, there was hydration and snacks, and I was comfortable. I feel like every nurse checked in with us at least once. Even my cat felt chill enough after a while to curl up and nap in his large cage (they were quite busy and all rooms were taken). As off Feb '25 it was $200 for just the most basic care, for what it's worth, and in our situation it was very much worth it. They sent everything to my usual vet, including recommended follow up testing. Flippin' awesome and so helpful for moving forward after a terrible Sunday!

From the start, Chris Carr was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly dedicated to helping both dogs and their families. Over the course of 10 days, Buster received 4-5 training sessions per day -- and the transformation was nothing short of amazing. When we picked him up, Chris spent a full hour training my son and me, making sure we understood how to maintain the progress at home. Since returning, Buster has been a completely different dog -- calmer, more focused, and so much more enjoyable to be around. We've even had friends and neighbors compliment his improved leash manners and overall behavior. Chris truly gave us the tools and confidence we needed to bring out the best in Buster, and we couldn't be more grateful. If you're considering a training program, I can't recommend Chris Carr and Strong House Training Center enough!

Honestly amazed at what Chris accomplished with our dog Figgy in just one session. Figgy is a 14…read moremonth old rescue who had issues with jumping, hated cars and was horrible on a leash. We had to spend 5 minutes just to load him into our car and would have to lift him in. When on a leash he would pull either pull or just lay down. Within 5 minutes Chris had him walking without pulling on a leash and got him to voluntarily jump in the back of our SUV! Chris walked us through his training process, the commands he would teach based upon our feedback of areas we wanted addressed as priority. The hardest part was waiting to the the results but as the saying goes good thing come to those who wait! The dog we picked up no longer jumped upon greeting, walked on a leash and was overall a much better behaved animal. Chris walked us through the training, gave recommendation and welcomed us to contact him with any questions or concerns. I would like to say the key takeaway which Chris stressed and I'll attest to is reinforcing the training; especially with a dog like Figgy who prior was allowed to let his bad behavior be considered acceptable. We ended up getting sick shortly after bring Figgy home and within a few day some of the bad behavior started to surface. Once we were able to get back to daily reinforcing his training from Chris he settled right back in to being the dog we knew he could be and Chris helped bring out. We are 100% satisfied with the results from Stronghaus and would highly recommend. Are the results worth it if you are willing to put in the work and stick with the training; 1000% yes! Chris showed us how to act as Figgy's leader, alleviating him from acting on bad behavior and being a dog who is now as laid back as can be and loving his new life. Worth every penny!

I am happy to say that after months of searching I found the perfect place. Ann is amazing with her puppies and you know she loves her animals dearly. I wasn't able to meet her or the puppies in person until pick up but she asked me what I was looking for in temperament and activity and picked me this perfect little love bug I have today. I had the chance to video chat her, she showed me around and we talked for a long time. She truly knows what to expect from each of the pups she raises. She's very honest and up front about what she expects from the future owners and answered every single one of my million questions. I've had my little puppy for only one week and she is incredibly sweet and smart (she picks up on commands very quickly). Ann has a cat and this made me even more comfortable because I was able to see them with her cat and how they interacted (they get along very well).
