Over time, I have…read morespent thousands of dollars at this location, supporting their mission and purchasing items. However, despite being a loyal customer, I have been treated with disrespect and hostility by staff. Issues I've encountered: Items being resold unfairly. Being labeled a "nuisance". Staff smiling in your face, then turning rude, irate, and dismissive. Being told, "If you don't like it, you can leave." No paying customer--let alone one who has supported this store significantly--should be treated this way. If this is how they operate, they should reconsider their approach to customer service.

I admit though I wasn't wholly sad to go buy clothes, because it meant a trip to a thrift store. I love thrift. Thanks to this wonderful Yelp community and my handy-dandy Yelp app we located this Salvation Army thrift store in downtown Bloomsburg. There isn't a Salvation Army Thrift near me so this was the very first store I've been to from this organization. Parking was street, meters, not challenging though to find a spot in front. The store looks like a charity thrift store, which is really promising. Stores that look like boutiques or retail locations also generally have pricing to reflect the 'upscale' impression. Not totally unusual in those stores to see clothing priced above what it was when it was new. Right. This was well organized, rows and rows of clothing, signage on each row with category. There were also decor and home goods and such. My quest though was to find clothes. Jackpot! Got a really great pair of leggings, black stretchy pants with PoCkETs, a lovely dressy Dana Buchman knit scalloped top that I could not resist I don't care if it's hand wash and block dry and a cool pullover top. I lightly cruised the home goods and found an awesome little carved horse that I have on my desk. The staff at checkout were super nice and friendly, I unwittingly had a few sale 1/2 price items bonus and I walked out with cool stuff for $11. This store is OG thrift, roots thrift, classic thrift and I love it for that. They're about filling a need in our community, not maximizing profit that goes to "programs". I'm down with that. I'd visit again when in the area and would choose to go to another of these stores when I come across. *Note: The Air B &.B we stayed at had a washer and dryer, which was used before wearing anything. Always wash your purchase. One of my friends also got some scores in clothing at the store, pants for her work that she needed for like $1 each. She was thrilled. Unfortunately, as much as I tried they fell flat for me. I feel like it's someone's unorganized storage of ebay listings...and it could very well be. I don't think they know what they have in there and nothing appears to have any kind of organization with the exception of Christmas and artwork. I found a piece of artwork I did like, but was deferred by the prices (ebay prices, higher than thrift, more in line with an antique store) and the fact that it was stored so unresponsibly that it was damaged. I was greeted upon entry, so the staff (owners? who sit in a little room off the entrance door) were friendly. Everything else was a miss, from the lack of cleanliness, high prices, weird configuration of the parking, weak floorboards upstairs, and just the fact that the majority of what they sell is high for item and condition. Most items did have condition issues, with the exception of some newer (Target?) items on the first floor which were priced at retail. I suspect they came from a pallet purchase. If you're looking for deals there's much better places in the area.

The space is a nice sized with a good selection but not so packed that it's hard to look through the racks. There are a few changing rooms as well as some accessories for purchase. The styles are unique and not something you will find in any department store but classic enough to wear everyday. There is also a good variety for all ages. We were…read moretold in January of 2021 to go get sized for our items, we did so and paid in full (to rent pants and a white shirt was over 200$) when we went to get fitted the trial dress they gave me was a little tight on the hips i said i would be okay sizing up and paying for the rest of the dress to be taken in. When i expressed this they told me as long as there is a seam they can take it out and it should be fine. It wasnt until august 18th did my dress come in (the wedding was on sept. 4th) i drove down immediately to get alterations done on it, the dress did not fit my hips. When i told them this they lady asked me if i was sure i didnt gain any weight since my try on period. I had just gotten married in july so i knew i couldnt have gained much weight but was still extremely offended. When they realized they couldnt take the seam out as far as it needed they got irritated and told me they would have to add material to the sides. They then told me id have to come back for atleast two more appts i explained that i live 1hr 30minutes away and the wedding was in two weeks, they did not care they told me thats what im going to have to do to get this dress to fit my body shape.. the following appt i went and they did a hem and have to fix the straps as they were too tight. The hem was crooked, when they "fixed" the strap they didnt take into account that my arm would still need to fit into the hole. They told me id have to come back for another appt. for then to fix the straps. I explained i would not have time for that and this needed to be taken care of today so i could take the dress home. The seamstress was very annoyed by this went literally cut the arm pit of the dress and sewed it back together to give it some "wiggle room" returned 10 minutes later and told me they dress will be fine its only for one day. I left with the dress that day. My husband on the other hand rented his clothes. The bride chose the pants and the shirt and we get him sized the same day i picked up my dress. They said everything is good and to pick his things up any time after the 30th of august.. the Monday before the wedding. The bride picked all of the guys clothes up on the same day saving us time to all drive down, the next day all the guys went to try on their clothes.. none of them fit, my husbands shirt did not even button because it was so tight on his chest. The pants were extremely tight on his waist/hips and just fell. They almost looked like a skirt on him. They could not wear these outfits, we took them back the following day explaining they didnt fit and that we were going to have to buy other clothes from somewhere else, they argued and told us they were not refunding us any money because they were already rented. The clothes weren't even worn! After getting screamed at by the owner we told them the review on this place is going to look awful coming for 20+ people all from the same wedding party, thats when their demeanor changed they told us they would refund us 50$ a person, we paid over 200$ for these rentals, now we have to go out and buy new clothes for each person! They are MONEY HUNGRY. We all get the pandemic hit businesses hard but to treat a wedding party like this 2 days before whats supposed to be the best day of their lives.. WOW... i would put 0 stars if i could.
