If I really fancied a curry, no worries as they do a wicked Thai Red Curry. I don't know about you but we, like most people, tend to have our favourites. It's sweet and sour chicken balls for him and sweet and sour prawn balls for me. Easy. Dragon Fountain's offerings are among the nicest I've tasted. No watery vinegary sweet and sour sauce here, just lusciously thick, perfectly flavoured tubs of sauce. And the balls aren't too greasy (oo er missus!)

The portions are pretty much enough to make a hungry stomach full. Mark my words, I love Chinese cuisine. And, I was dead hungry at that time. The deals are also good, like if the bill crosses £10, a complimentary bag of freshly made prawn crackers are served. The quality of the food is great, and it's not greasy, like most of the Chinese eateries in town. There is a sit in option available as well, although for a few number of people. The sweet and sour sauce is perfect, and the king prawns in the rice and the noodles, were huge jumbo king prawns, not like shrimps which most of the places serve in the said King Prawn dishes. Well, wait, there are more. They don't use MSG or any artificial additives or preservatives. Healthy!!! The food was absolutely fine, simple and tasted really nice. Cegin y Ddraig means 'Dragon's Kitchen' in Welsh, and as you might expect this is a great place to sample some traditional, home made Welsh fare. From bowls of hearty cawl to slices of Welsh rarebit, there are plenty of traditional savoury lunches - or for something sweet you can enjoy bara brith or Welsh cakes. They have daily specials on the chalk boards, although when it's something popular it often sells out quite quickly. Apart from their Welsh options, there are other dishes on the menu such as falafels with salad - but the overall emphasis is most definitely on Welshness, with the red, white and green décor and Welsh flags and art work on the walls. They use locally sourced Welsh ingredients, and are also fully licensed and sell a range of Wales's own wines, beers, ciders and spirits - including Brecon gin and Penderyn whisky. The food I've eaten here has been very tasty, and while it is not somewhere I would think to go regularly I would definitely recommend it to tourists visiting Wales as a place to get a taste of traditional Welsh food.

Once upon a time I used to go in all the time, but only recently rediscovered the place when a friend came of visit. Thank you Ellie! This is a nice homely cafe that serves traditional Welsh fare to a high and homely standard. This is the kind of food is the the type that you'll find in a chubby grandmother's kitchen. If you've had a hard day of shopping, or are just visiting Cardiff for the day, then either way this is a nice, well priced place to tuck down some nosh.

There is plenty of choice at Assam and the meals are always excellent good quality chicken and meat used. Generous portions as well, and really creamy sauces. They also have a range of sides and the usual mix of poppadoms and naans to go with your main. They also used to offer a loyalty scheme to keep you returning, not sure if this is still on but excellent customer service and happy to accommodate special requests.
