Family Paw is truly a cut above the rest! We've been a loyal client since we rescued our dog more than 7 years ago. We originally chose them due to our proximity to the business, and we've remained even after moving across town because of the phenomenal staff, customer service, and all around experience. This is the only place we'll board our dog. We absolutely love the grooming staff (which says a lot since we have an anxious pup who doesn't love the grooming process). From the moment you walk through the front door or call in, you'll feel like family. Even when months have passed without us using their services, when we return they remember our dog by name and it's like not a day has gone by. We particularly love the photos they'll take of our furry family members at the holidays. We love the photo updates we receive daily during boarding. We love that they don't hesitate to call and check in if they have questions or we've a selected a service we wouldn't normally opt for. This place was awesome! I took my dog on a hike and he got pretty dirty so I just needed a self wash and this place couldn't have not been any more perfect. The owner Caroline was so friendly! It was adorable to see her business cards with her fur babies on them. It was only $15 to self wash and they provided shampoo, conditioner and then some scented spray at the end. Overall it was very simple to use and great price for sure. Caroline was very kind to help set me up since it was my first time. read more

I love the staff here but the self service wash is in rough shape and not worth cost! Family Paw needs to maintain and repair all of the elements in the self service room. None of the options for shampoo or conditioner/rinse worked, only cool water came out. The spray nozzle on the water hose also came off while my husband was washing our dog. When he couldn't reattach it, he gave up and used the hose without the nozzle. When it was time to dry our dog, the dryer hose was broken. The pressure tip on the hose was missing and made drying our dog much, much harder than it needed to be. We're now looking for another self service dog wash that maintains the equipment and keeps the supplies needed to effectively wash our dog. read more

I've been bringing Riley to Kelly since 2017 and it's been 5 stars every visit. Everyone at Family Paw is wonderful. Even though haircuts are a regular thing, Riley can be pretty creative about trying to avoid going. However, I know they treat her well because even though she hates getting her haircut she is always willing to go with them. She'll even give them a little lick to show that even though she is going in protest it's not about them. I am so happy to have found this place so I don't have to worry about her in their hands. I brought my puppy here shortly after his neuter surgery (removal of his male glands) and asked them to be careful around his healing area. Unfortunately, they cut his surgical site with clippers, leaving it red, swollen, and painful. He's been whining and licking himself nonstop since. This wasn't a minor irritation -- it was a serious and avoidable injury. As a groomer, basic care like using longer guards or avoiding sensitive areas should be second nature. People love Family Paw on Yelp. Here is one more. This review will explain why. With maintenance expected to inspect my home, I was concerned about leaving my cat there while at work. What if the cat got loose? It was obvious that I would have to board my cat for the night. This would be the first time boarding her in over ten years. I was looking for a boarding establishment that was highly rated and close by. That place turned out to be Family Paw. It sits at the Henderson /Paradise (southeast Las Vegas) border at the northeast corner of Eastern Avenue and Windmill Parkway, which makes it a convenience for pet parents in Henderson and Paradise. I am one of those pet parents. I would find it a major convenience having a pet boarder less than three miles away. I am not a fan of driving in the treacherous Vegas traffic with the added responsibility of having a cat in the car. It shouldn't be surprising that I found Family Paw on Yelp. As soon as I read some reviews and saw how close they were to my home, I called up to schedule an appointment. It was a very easy process and they scheduled the boarding for the following day. The price was going to be $20 for the night. To me that is a good exchange of $20 knowing that my cat would be well cared for. When I brought the cat in the following day, the staff enthusiastically welcomed me and their overnight boarder. It was as if Thumberlina was staying at a pet resort instead of a boarding establishment. Upon checking in they took an inventory of Thumberlina's belongings which was her kennel cage and cat food. They also asked me if I had any questions. If she were staying here a week and was out of town, this is when I would have given them emergency contact information. The next day, they sent me a picture message of Thumberlina. This was a very nice touch that reassured me that my cat was healthy and well taken care of. The picture message also paid a couple of compliments to my cat. When I picked up the cat, she was relaxed and happy. Those were good signs that Family Paw took good care of her. Those are also signs that I would bring her back to Family Paw in the future. read more

We go here ALL the time. I always use their self wash & our dogs love it. They get so excited to jump into the tub once I get it opened. Our lagotto, Lumpia, is a frequent customer lol so she knows the drill whenever we go & I love that they have a stamp card. With the mess our dog gets in to, that stamp card is such a saving grace. They're so affordable especially when it isn't their Tuesday special in terms of self wash. And their water pressure is perfect bc you can adjust it. Recommend for your dogs & your back! read more

We bring our 19 year old Maltese there and Kelly does a fantastic job with her. Cleaning her up and keeping her calm. Our chihuahua is not easy to deal with getting her nails trimmed but Kelly comes out, lets me hold her to comfort her and works around all her crazy movements with patience and getting it done as quickly as possible! This was the WORST grooming job anyone has ever done for my dog Bandit. I called and asked for an appointment to get Bandit shaved as I do every 3 months. ( normally with PetSmart) but they were booked and I needed ASAP as we had a flood in house and my dogs were filthy. My daughter took Bandit for his appoint @2 and immediately called me to tell me the groomer is 100% against shaving him. She said his coat/ breed is not recommended for shaving. So I had my daughter tell her ok, but please groom him to get most of his fur taken care of as he sheds a lot. I was called @5:00 to tell me he would be ready in approximately 35 min. I headed up as I was going to self wash my older dog myself as I waited for Bandit. I finished @5:38 and Bandit was still not done, ( 3.5 hrs they already had him,) My husband came up to pick up Bandit and to pay $75 with a $5 tip prior to seeing him. When the groomer brought Bandit out it looked as if a small child got ahold of clippers. Bandits fur lines were going in all directions. One side of his body was shaved completely different. My husband asked what happened and her response was," This is the best I can do, your dog is wiggly." My husband said you have to fix this. She took Bandit back and immediately returned and said again," this is the best I can do." She had a HORRIBLE ATTITUDE I'm absolutely appalled that this company hires non professionals to take care of grooming needs. It is very clear that this groomer did not know how to shave a dog and verbally told us she wasn't going to because it was not appropriate for his breed but then took it upon herself and attempted to. DON't TAKE YOUR ANIMALS THERE TO BE GROOMED!!!! AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I NOW KNOW , AND WILL NEVER GO BACK I WILL HAVE TO BRING HIM SOMEWHERE ELSE TO BE FIXED. read more

I drove by this place alot before we got a dog and so figured I would try it when it was time for grooming. Kelly, one of the groomers, is hysterical and obviously cares for the animals. She is open to my scattered thoughts on what I want and makes me feel comfortable leaving my baby with her. We also had finally been able to board her since she was spayed and we got a picture of her playtime with friends! We had boarded her at PetSmart and her vet and had bad experiences with both, but here she was happy and clean and when I called to check on her they immediately could tell me how she was. It's a small spot and I think the size as well as the quality of people they hire contributes to the true family feel. read more

I went in yesterday for a dog self-wash and the person who helped me was so kind and helpful that I knew he must be an owner. He really knows how to run a business and treat customers. My dog is a mental case, so I have to bathe her myself. I've used several self-wash locations in town but theres always one issue or another. Everything about Family Paw's self-wash is great. It's back in a separate room so dogs can't bolt. The tubs are against a wall, limiting escape options for dogs planning to jump out. Everything you need (water, shampoo, towels, brushes, blow dryer) is within arms reach. They have a machine that sprays either just water, or a mix of water and shampoo, which seriously cut down on the amount of time it took me to bathe the dog (the bath was done in 15 minutes, took me another 10 min to blow dry). We had a great experience and Family Paw definitely earned a new customer. read more

We were looking for a new place to board our dog, Macchi, during a trip to LA we had been planning. Before leaving him there to board though, we decided to take him to Family Paw for the day every weekend leading up to our trip to get him acquainted with the staff and other dogs. The staff here is wonderful. The first time we took him for the day, the staff took time introducing him to dogs one by one so that he wouldn't be overwhelmed and snap at the other dogs. After watching him on their surveillance in the lobby for about 20 minutes, he seemed comfortable enough for us to leave. Upon pick-up, the staff let us know that he had played most of the day and quickly settled in. Since then, every time we've brought him in, they've taken the time to greet us and welcome Macchi back. He's so used to them now, he walks around like he owns the place. Most importantly, they're as happy to see him as he is to see them. During our trip, we received daily photos and updates on how he was doing and the friends made. It was nice knowing he was enjoying his time as much as we were in LA. Since he was staying 3+ days, he even got a complimentary exit bath, so he was nice and fresh. We also got a report card, which let us know in writing how he did during boarding, particularly how much he played with other dogs and his eating habits. Although I wish they had an outside area for them or they took them out on walks (they don't for safety reasons), this is a great boarding/daycare overall. They're so good that we've decided to keep taking him on the weekend for daycare since he enjoys it so much. The staff definitely cares about the dogs here. PS: They also have a sale where they sell discounted rates for half-day and full-day daycare and boarding. For those that plan to take their dogs here for multiple days, this is great! I believe they only offer the sale at certain times of the year though. read more

I checked out a few facilities for boarding and day care and this place had a caring staff, happy guest and is very reasonably priced. Caroline was accommodating in letting me know about the facility and how the dogs are taken care of. Used them for daycare and boarding and my medium and small pup look like they enjoy themselves. Staff is helpful loading them in the car and saying good bye which I appreciate as well. Other facilities had their ups and downs and I felt like this place is the most well rounded when it came to boarding my pups. read more

We are doing a 2 week program for her as we are trying to get her nails to a good length.
