Marcia Johanson at Family Physical Therapy has been my physical therapist for the past couple of years, and I continue to see her for different areas of my body. She is patient, caring, knowledgeable, and takes the time to educate and work with you. Her hands-on approach and massage techniques have made a huge difference, helping me walk with much less pain. My chronic pain is ongoing, but I'm doing a lot better thanks to her. The clinic is clean, well-maintained, and equipment is in great shape. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I appreciate the private treatment rooms and the friendly front desk staff--they're easy to communicate with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Marcia is always on time and fully engaged during appointments. Occasionally, her assistants arrive late in the mornings, which can affect the last part of the session when they're supposed to take over for certain exercises while Marcia moves to the next patient. Even so, Marcia's knowledge, skill, and attentiveness make the care excellent. I'm giving five stars because of Marcia--she is the reason I continue coming here and the therapist I would always recommend. I used family physical therapy for help with my left shoulder following an injury on my motorcycle. I had a round of care that lasted several weeks and it helped determine what parts of my shoulder needed to be strengthened and what parts may still require surgery. This was a prerequisite to being considered for having surgical intervention. The care was focused and accurate. My therapist, Alex really knows his stuff. I wound up needing surgery and following the successful procedure, I returned for additional therapy to regain my range of motion and functionality to my shoulder. It was a huge success. After the surgeon cut off my right shoulder and replaced it with a fake one (after slipping at Walmart on a tomato the day after Christmas '24), I needed physical therapy. Family Physical Therapy took good care of me, treated me well, and provided great services. I'm hoping I won't need a physical therapist again, but if I do, family physical therapy will probably be who I call. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Emily is my hero.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I herniated a disc in my low back May of 2024, because of health insurance idiocracy it took me until October 2024 to finally get into Physical Therapy. In June, my insurance tried to send me to PT in Woodland before having an MRI to confirm the issue, who did not do any diagnostics on me, barely asked a couple questions and deduced that it was a sciatic injury. Even after being told that I do not have pain in my sciatic and the doctor's insight that it's a herniated disc, he refused to treat it. I never went back. I searched through all the PTs covered by my insurance and that were excepting new clients and am honestly blessed I found Family PT. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Emily had just started at this location but you could not tell at all. She was confident from the jump and extremely empathic towards my situation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She is intelligent about the body and genuinely wants to help you feel better. Since working with her in October, I went from 7/10 pain every single day and not being able to workout to an average of 3/10 pain and slowly back to lifting again. As an athlete, it was horribly tough mentally and emotionally to not be able to participate the activities I love. I had lost hope that I would get any help or progress at all. Emily not only restored my hope but helped me train for my first snowboarding lessons, something I had never thought I would be able to do after this injury. Have balance problems. We have worked on it at both my times referred. I learn to use a cane; things to be mindful of about myself that I use daily. Well I'm only reviewing one therapist there named Alexis Theuring (Lexi). I'm a caretaker and take my client there 3-4 times a month. I have a great relationship with my client and we have our own banter and inside jokes. She constantly is praising me for the help I've given her with her recovery. And every single time Alexis has been extremely condensing toward me. She is constantly belittling my help with my client. So today I went outside to take a phone call and sat in the car while I waiting on her to finish. My phone was on silent as usual since I'm on the job. So they came outside and knocked on the door. She seriously accused me of not being okay to drive my client home after repeating to her that I was fine. She took my client aside and asked her the same questions. My client of course didn't see what the big deal was. And yet Alexis still have the nerve to call my company to complain about me. She just seems like the type of person that is just trying to find trouble where there is no trouble. A busy body per se. And instead of telling me to my face she called behind my back to get me in trouble. Well it back fired because my company knows how well I treat my client to the point I'm almost family to her. So if you come here especially as a caregiver to a client I would suggest maybe going somewhere else or working with a different therapist. read more

This place is terrible and cares nothing for their clients. There was many problems with scheduling and when they finally got it scheduled it was the wrong provider, Well first it was the wrong body part and then the wrong provider this place lacks professionalism. I tried to explain this to them and they were pretty rude very dismissive so dismissive in fact they sent back my referral (in retaliation) I have to get it resent again I'm gonna try to go somewhere else if you YouTube physical therapy there's nothing they don't have there on YouTube that this place doesn't up-charge you a lot of money for or over bill you insurance, after wasting weeks/months of your time. VERY DISSATISFIED. I went for post-op PT today, my first visit, and was taken aback at the amount of tension in this facility. While I sat there for 30 minutes waiting, I heard one of the therapists (I'm assuming that's what she is) and the owner argue about her breaking a table. She tersely said "no I did not break it Brett" several times. It was embarrassing. So unprofessional. Now let's talk about the front desk help, Penny. The moment I handed her my insurance card she started questioning my health insurance and started claiming I was a MEDI-Cal patient, which I am not. I have Medicare. I was already preapproved for 17 visits by Nivano Physicians Group yet the lady at the front desk didn't check on this prior to me coming in? I drove 6 miles with a post-surgical foot to be questioned about my insurance!! Ridiculous!! Oh and here's something else that struck me as odd, everyone was wearing masks but there were 2 ppl working out without shoes or socks on and I didn't see anyone cleaning the equipment or tables once they were done . It's covid-19 status lockdown and these people are letting people walk around barefoot not cleaning! I guarantee they wouldn't be allowing anything like that in any reputable gym right now if they were open. Catch a clue! Anyway, I already informed my Podiatrists office of the way things were handled here (as a warning for future referrals) and I will be finding someone to actually take care of my foot without all the anxiety involved with this place. You just lost 17 visits worth of Medicare advantage payments! read more

Tiffany may be small but she kicks your ass!! I have been in and out of PT for years following several sports injuries, and car accidents. Tiffany is very personable, and genuinely cares about you and takes no pity (in a good way!) The reception staff are sweet and always remember you and what is going on in your lives. I have to say this is THE best physical therapy I have tried. This was the 3rd physical therapy office I tried, and I got so much relief from my appointments. My physical therapist was Marcia and she is the BEST! She taught me exercises to help with my neck/shoulder pain at home. She even looked over my X-rays and ct scans of my neck/shoulder and explained the problem to me, in detail! And the best thing, I laughed so much at every appointment with her! She's so knowledgeable, helpful and funny. I really looked forward to my appointments every week with her. The owner Brett or Brent (sorry) is one of the nicest people I have ever met. This is by far the best physical therapy office I've ever been to. They also have helpers there too that are all so friendly and nice, and the receptionist is also great! From the minute I walked in the door, I knew this place was a good fit for me. I highly recommend this office for any physical therapy needs! read more

I am so happy with this business. Ila is amazing, so smart, funny and helpful. She enjoys the circus arts and handstands herself so she knows exactly what I need my shoulder to be capable of as it heals. My visits with her are actually enjoyable albeit sometimes necessarily painful. I wouldn't want to see anyone else. The girls that assist are also great and Penne at the front desk helps me understand the insurance end of things. read more

I went to Family Physical Therapy after an auto accident. I worked with Kirsten Carmichael. She is amazing! I've never been to a physical therapist who pushed me in so many good ways. She was always very nice and created awesome exercises to help me strengthen my neck, upper back and lower back. I feel so much better after 1 month. The office staff are super friendly and helpful. The office is always clean. The other thing I loved is that my appointments always started on time! I have a busy schedule and their timeliness was super important to me. Both my husband & I have been treated by Family Physical Therapy since they first opened - for a number of different ailments, from back issues to shoulder and knee surgeries. Their practitioners are all excellent and very well trained. They also treat the entire patient, not just the disparate bit that happens to be at issue at the time (I once went to a therapist who treated my back, yet made my should much worse).
