Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this pool company based on our experience. From start to finish, we had to manage virtually the entire project ourselves. Despite hiring a company that was supposed to oversee and coordinate the build, there was little to no project management provided. Nearly all of the work was performed by third-party subcontractors, and there was no meaningful follow-up or quality control from the company. Instead of proactively managing the project, they relied on us to identify problems, report issues, and continuously follow up for corrections. Even when legitimate concerns were raised, getting items repaired or completed properly felt like pulling teeth. Communication and accountability were lacking throughout the process. The most frustrating part was the disconnect between the sales process and the actual experience. During the sales pitch, they told us everything we wanted to hear and presented themselves as a full-service company that would handle the project from beginning to end. In reality, we found ourselves acting as the project manager, quality control inspector, and customer service department. If you're considering this company, be prepared to closely monitor every phase of the project and advocate for yourself at every step. FFP was contracted to do a complete demo and reconstruct on our 25 year old pool as well as replacing all the tiles associated with a very large lanai. For the price they charged we expected a much better quality of work. What you get is track home quality. They sub out 90% of the job, a different crew shows up for all the different phases and NO ONE from Family pools EVER came to supervise them or to tell them how the job needed to be done. I should have been added to the payroll because my husband and I had to communicate with every trade, and when you tell them they were doing it wrong they just stated "this is what the print shows" and continued to do whatever THEY think needs to be done. When we were not happy with the work that was done we were told by Paul (an owner) that it was a bad job and that he would fix it, so he sends out the same crews, without supervision to fix whatever they decide to and never bothered to ask us if it was fixed correctly. When we got tired of being ignored we stopped paying and FINALLY got somewhere with him. The list of crappy workmanship is VERY LONG, yes they passed inspections but this is NOT the dream pool I had envisioned, you'd think for 100k you would be extremely satisfied and the work they did still makes me cry today. I stopped asking them to fix and repair because every repair job turned out worse than the original and I frankly just did not want them on my property anymore. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY WORST ENEMY! We are in construction ourselves, and would NEVER EVER do the things these guys do. If I could give them NO stars, I would. The consistent communication when needed was on point . I am not easy when it comes to spending money but the cost involved and the quality work was on point. If we had any questions he would address them in a timely manner. Outside of the customer service with our pool process and completion, they are an amazing family to deal with!! It has taken me a while to write a review because I really needed to think about it. During construction there wasn't great communication and that lead to costly errors that occurred. Specifically the location of the pool was too close to the house. We asked Paul after excavation to assess. He didn't and in the meantime the subcontractors continued with the framing. Two or three days latter when we insisted to look at it he agreed it was too close. They moved the pool area and charged us an additional $3,000. We had multiple issues with the deck pavers. Upgraded to limestone that kept staining and moving. They reset it twice and it continued to move. We finally just gave up on asking them to come. Fast forward now with hurricane Milton. Almost all the pavers moved and undermined. A company came to reset the stone and found lots of mistakes. One thing we noticed is that the pool skimmer lid was cut in half and duct taped to fit. I don't know why they would do this other just pure laziness. I have included a photo. I wouldn't recommend this company at all. Mostly because all of these mistakes could have been avoided if there was supervision at the site. read more

Absolutely horrific experience. What should have been a 4 month job took over a year. Here's a tip, you DON'T mix Hayward Omniboard and Pentair equipment. They don't interface well. I would have liked to have known that before construction, but, I figured they knew what they were doing! We were lied to repeatedly by Paul, he lied so much he didn't know who he told what to. The pool had a leak, he even told our realtor that. He then proceeded to say he never told the realtor. He said he had a leak detection performed, after talking to that contractor I discovered that was a blatant lie and I paid for the leak detection test on my own which showed up very quickly and was fixed by the detection contractor. The workmanship is shoddy and the tile work was terrible and uneven with the water flowing toward the house. I insisted the drain be modified to remedy that. He also tried to pad the bill by adding the pool cleaning service on the bill which was never discussed or agreed upon by me. This company has no clue what they are doing. A report is being filed with the BBB and the Florida Department of Business and Regulation. Stay away! read more

I hired Earl from Family Pools to install a second rail on my Dad's pool to make it easier for him to get out. He saved me money by recommending a slightly used rail that was in "like-new" condition. He listened to me as to where I wanted the rail placed, drilled, cemented, and overall did an excellent job on the installation! Earl is highly experienced and I would recommend him highly for any pool repair or maintenance needs!!! read more

Contracted for a pool and provided deposit and agreed upon time lines. Nothing but excuses for three months. Blew the deadline they agreed to, made multiple excuses and refuse to return deposit. No honest communication. Made nothing but excuses. Refuse to return money while also not performing. Claimed they didn't save my number then promised an update on performance (twice) without meeting their timeline - horrible experience. read more

It's not the price so much, but rather the workmanship. They take far longer to complete a project than promised, and then need to come back in a year, or 3 to redo what should have been done the first time around. read more
