THIS COMPANY IS DANGEROUS, DO NOT RENT EQUIPMENT FROM THEM. My group rented 7 bicycles and 3 tricycles for a week long event in Miami. On the day of rental, 9 bicycles and 2 tricycles were delivered because they didnt have enough tricycles. Not a single one was fully functional and half of them were broken and then repaired in dangerous ways. Out of these: - One bicycles pedal came off within an hour and was unfixable. had to walk back a mile. - One bicycles front fork was "repaired" but they welded it into place BACKWARDS causing it to violently change directions over bumps or when turning. It took several people eating asphalt before we realized it wasnt us. - Four bicycles tires would only stay inflated for a couple hours at a time - One tricycle frame was twisted into a permanent slight right turn and turning to the left would make the entire thing tip over and try to throw you off to the right. which it did. - The other tricycles basket was broken and unusable - Two chains were so rusted and deformed that they would constantly derail mid ride - Not a single bike had functional gears. the good ones had one functional high gear and one functional low gear. The rest were either permanently too hard to pedal or too easy. Everything has signs of shoddy repairs. Dont trust these people their bikes will get you hurt. read more

Awful. We have been annual customers for over 20 years. we paid $80 for delivery of tables, chairs and linens between 8am - 2pm for a 5pm event. They showed up at 4:30! Linens were all stained. We complained and asked for a credit of delivery and linen charges multiple times. No one responded. Emailed. No one responded. We disputed charge and they were dishonest. Did not tell credit card company that delivery was very late or that linens were stained. Unacceptable. read more

What an awful company! What awful customer service! I rented a gas bbq for a backyard party. Bbq delivered on time. That was the only positive. I hooked up the propane to the grill and it kept going out after a minute or 2. Driver came back and started grill. Driver leaves. Grill turned off. Few hours later I had 75 guests including I hired a professional chef to grill. He started grill. A minute later turned off. Started it again. Turned off. Again n again until we decided to use my own personal smaller bbq so we can cook the food for my guests. I left a message on Sunday the day after the party to let them know grill did not work. No response. I called Monday am and spoke to someone and I was told I would get a call back in 30 minutes. No response. I just called again and after being put on Hold for 10 minutes, Mary, the manager basically told me there's nothing she can do. They can't control the wind. Not their problem their grill didn't work. Can you imagine???!!! It was a bit breezy but a gorgeous night. That same wind didn't affect my grill. I asked Mary for the owner and her response was I can't give out that information I explained I would call my credit card company to cancel payment and will be writing these reviews. She said the owner wouldn't care. What kind of business owner wouldn't care ??? If looking for any equipment , please go elsewhere. This company truly is unprofessional and lacks any business sense. Ps... the grill was greasy and filthy upon delivery. But I was ignoring that and cleaned it myself. read more

Received a wheelchair and it didn't go straight. I struggled with it so much that I strained my shoulder. Even the person pushing me struggles to keep me going straight. Called to have the wheelchair extended for an additional week and asked them to bring a different one. The woman I spoke with refused me and said only if I bring it in to change it out. I told that wasn't possible because I'm in the wheelchair and can't drive. She still refused! Can't wait for them to pick up this piece of junk! read more

I didn't really have a good experience with Family Rentals. Their website is slightly difficult to navigate, lacks information and is therefore misleading. Initially, their prices seem good. For instance, I wanted to order a 6 foot white bar that they have listed. For an entire day, $40-45 is not bad at all. However, the delivery fee is the same amount. In total, it was going to cost me 2 bars for one. They can't even give you an estimated fee on their website. In any case, I reserved my order. The e-mail says that someone will reach out within 24-48 hours to confirm your order and that never happened. I had to call them myself and it took several times on hold before they could find my reservation and I'm not sure why. I was weary to keep my card on file and stated I'd be paying cash. In the end, I decided to cancel my order because the unprofessionalism was making me very nervous. When I called to cancel, once again after giving them my name, phone number, email address, confirmation order, reservation number, and date of booking (and the event date), they had no idea what I was even talking about. The whole vibe of this company is sketchy to me and I'm really glad I didn't actually spend any money here. I won't be recommending them and they don't make me feel comfortable spending money here. read more

My 4 grandchildren came to visit. I found Family Rental on line and was extremely pleased. I rented 4 car seats and 4 bicycles. All items were clean, operational and ready when I arived. Staff was extremely polite and accommodating. Pricing was more than fair. I highly recommend this company. read more

We were in bind...this place was a really great find! Arriving in Fort Lauderdale, late on a Saturday with a wheelchair that was damaged... We were in desperate need of replacement front wheels (as we were going on a family cruise the following day). Mike said he would wait for us and see what he could do to help. Great, friendly staff... Yes, Mike was able to swap out the wheels...so what could have been a very difficult vacation was salvaged! So thankful for finding you! read more

Very Bad Company if you need them for a medical service and have insurance! They will Tell you " We don't work with insurance but will give you the paperwork you need" This is a LIE! They give you their "rental agreement" without a Tax ID, without any if the proper documentation ordinarily needed for a medical need (elderly, immobile, unable to walk long distances). Beware!! This is a scam!! This is a scooter rental, like a tourist rental company and nothing more!!! Find a more reputable company who is willing to work with you and at minimum, give you the proper paperwork to help you if you have a true medical need. Every time I visit South Florida, I rent a mobility scooter for my dad. They are so helpful in assisting with the reservation and their prices are pretty reasonable. The scooters have always been clean, in tip top shape, and they have excellent customer service. They are so good, I browse their website looking for other items to rent, just because! The only items I would ask them to improve is listing the cost of delivery and listing their physical address on the 'ABOUT US' area of the website. read more

BAIT & SWiTCH we took our five year old daughter to pick out a bike rental for the week. She chose a pink barbie bike displayed on the floor. They said they needed to go get the bike from storage, and the only difference would be that it did not have hand brakes. fine. so out comes a crappy old bike that looks like it was found on the side of the road. my daughter immediately said, "thats not the same bike". when confronted and questioned, the owner defended himself by saying the floor sample (which was used but in great shape) princess bike was for size reference only. He then began to have a hostile tone of voice saying that "kids don't care, it's always the parents who care!" The owner was a bully, and horribly rude. I had abdominal surgery and needed a lift chair. I found family rental by googling it. I saw the chair online and call they ask you for your height and weight and recommend the one you need. It was delivered on a Saturday as promised. I tried to sit on it but the chair was too narrow and I was very uncomfortable so I called and they suggested a wider chair but I would have to give an additional $160.00 on top of the $179. That I already paid for seven days. I asked that they come get the because I can't use it. I paid for 7 day rental and delivery for $179.76 that I was not able to use. They were only able to pick up the chair on a Tuesday but I call Monday morning and now I call thinking that I should get something back being that I still had a few days left on the rental lease. They told me no, we can't credit you anything because of the time I had it. Saturday I came home in the afternoon and once I didn't fit they were called. I'm so very disappointed. I personally will never consider renting from Family Rental and if anyone asked me I would say the same. read more
