    boat noodles

Instagram: @xcyanneats Thai boat noodles were pretty good. I feel like the broth still was missing something though. Meat portion was very well for every bite. The noodles were a bit too soft where it would stick together. service was my downfall on this. it's a small area and when we got there it wasn't too busy, but while we ate it did pick up. my friend asked for no veggies in her broth and they still came out with it, no one came for refills till asked, my appetizer didn't even show up and was asked if i still wanted it while i was paying. i did ask for it, but they said it'll take a tad bit longer.. overall, food is good but service wasn't so well. almost felt like i had to self service myself

Super good food, great friendly service. The restaurant is rather small but doesn't bother me. Their Thai style pho is AMAZING and their drunken noodles weren't bad at all. I will be back!

When you ask for spicy you get spicy here! I was dying but everything was delicious. Menu is small but they have all your main classics. It's seat yourself. Good thing we came on a weekday and it wasn't too busy inside but there were a lot of take out orders so we had a feeling we made the right choice dining here. Would definitely come back and try the other dishes.

3.5 out 5 Got the Boat Noodles. As everyone else has said, it's not listed on their menu, but if you ask for it they'll give it to you. It costs $9.50. They will also ask you if you if you want a side of fried pork skins with it too. It'll cost you an extra $2.00. The broth was tasty and actually really garlicky. The noodles for me were a little overcooked. They just stuck together and I was basically just ripping them apart. There were a couple of thinly sliced beef and sliced meatballs. For the amount that I paid I expected to get a little more, but it was still tasty. Inside was a little busy. Basically only one guy taking all the orders and cleaning the tables. I got in at a good time when there were a couple of open seats. Took about 10 minutes to get the food.

Curry fried rice. 8/10 in flavor but a little dry! Overall worth it!

Overall great place to eat for Thai food. The spice is definitely there so be careful ordering spicy(or extra spicy)! I absolutely love the boat noodle and it's the best I've had for 2022. It's a must try broth!

Plastic found in the spring roll.

Ordered spring rolls with my wife tonight. While eating one of the spring rolls, my wife found a piece of plastic inside. Food was horrific.

First impression, Very small business, lots of customers, friendly waiter I would recommend to not dine in as too few spaces to sit, you'd have a better experience at home or at the park or anywhere good to eat I do recommend you ordering to go and ahead of time Here's how long it took my order as we sat to dine in Waters came immediately (sink water) 20 minutes for the first plate of fried rice 5 minutes for the rest of the food to follow, wings, satay, and pad thai Felt like forever because i was hungry but ig thats average Chicken pad thai was a bit sweet tbh Beef fried rice was bomb but a bit spicy as i ordered the medium spice Chicken wings tasted similar to papa johns and dominoes, would 100% recommend to not order the chicken wings Chicken satay was delicious but easily made it seems, a piece of chicken breast turbo air fried with no seasonings of any sort. They did bring out sweet n sour sauce which i used on it which was pretty close to home. I used to air fry walmart bought chicken breasts and eat them like so with rice. No tapioca unfortunately :( I had a blast as i always do when eating out, waiter was super nice No bathrooms either, i think!! There is a small sink you can use to wash hands right behind the cashier Super crowded but i rate this place a 5 star because of the friendlyness, the prices, and just being simple Although some of the dishes may not have been my favorite I'm confident their other food tastes amazing such as the pho, boat noodle which i didnt try, and others. Again, order to go especially if you have a big family and give em plenty of time to make it!!

Friendly staffs that'll greet you as you enter the premises. It's a small joint to grab lunch or dinner at. Don't be surprise if seats are all filled. They do do take out as well. I really enjoy their boat noodle dish. Mainly that's what I go there for with an extra bag of pork skin. Broth is great, always consistent with the flavors. Noodles are not too hard and not too soft. Service is kind of slow. Usually one waiter/waitress working to serve customers.

I had the boat noodle. It's part of their secret menu, you will have to ask about it because it's not on their menu. The space is tight and cleanliness can improve. The service is very slow so be ware and give yourself extra time. It took about 15 minutes to get water and another 10 to get my order in. Food came out after 15 minutes so that took a little long just for pho. There was only one host/server so that didn't help with the speed of service.

Would not recommend Green curry ( just pure sweet ). Prices too high. Only ordered 3 plates, did not expect a $70 plus tip.

With two locations that are both consistently amazing, I've never had a single subpar experience. The restaurants are clean, simple and have great service. One thing I really appreciate is how clearly they label gluten-free and vegetarian options. The menu is packed with choices for different dietary restrictions. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted and full of bold, authentic flavor. My go-to favorites are the pad thai, green curry, drunken noodles, Thai fried rice, yellow curry, and the spring rolls, they truly never miss. If you're new to Thai food, you can't go wrong starting with the pad thai and fried rice. If you like a little spice and depth of flavor, definitely add a curry to the mix. The portions are generous (perfect for sharing), and everything is consistently fresh and delicious. I can't recommend Coconut Thai enough!

I totally get this is the same Coconut Thai as an Edina, but I would have to say the Edina…read morelocation. The flavor is much more robust. I got the pad Thai chicken and it was just less sauce than I would like. I like it just a thicker sauce like how they do it in the Edina location. They have a parking lot at the back for about 5-6 parking spots. I would skip the calamari next time the breading is just way too thick. They charged me $3 extra for a side of fresh bean sprouts. I never had that happen to me at any Asian restaurant my entire life, but that's OK. It's highly unlikely I will come back to this location. I really like the Edina location 100 times better.

The service is always great and the place is clean. I highly recommend you try this spot. The prices are still reasonable after all these years.

I've ordered from On's dozens of times and they honestly deserved this review a lot sooner…read more Everything I've ever eaten from On's is authentic, delicious and bursting with flavor. I've tried numerous menu items, including their Laab, Pad-ga-pow, mango salad, pineapple curry, pad Thai and Prik Prik Moo Grop. There's another dish I've tried there that seems it's no longer on their menu but it was a curry seafood dish served in an actual coconut. It was amazing! My favorites so far are the mango salad and pad Thai. The #70 Moo Grop dish is a close one for top picks but my only complaint is the pork chunks weren't my preferred texture. The sauce, however, is a show stealer. I could literally drink it! It's that good. I've personally never had a negative eating experience with Ons but my husband did complain to me about their pineapple curry. He orders his food at the spiciest level, and I only ever tried a bite of his, but he thought it was very sour and tasted pickely. It was not the best curry I've had but I didn't think it was bad. I'm a seasoned Thai food eater - it's basically all I eat. So I've tried all of the Thai spots in the twin cities. On's is sitting in my top two. I've never eaten inside the restaurant so I can't say much for the service, but I have been in the restaurant to pick up orders and there isn't much to say for its ambiance. It's a very casual setting. My only complaint about Ons is that they serve their curry in shallow containers which makes for smaller portions. If they served their curry in soup containers and gave larger portions, they'd be my go-to spot every time. Right now, my other favorite Thai spot has them beat on curry portions. But that doesn't stop me from coming back for other menu items.

We went there before they closed down for renovation…read more Stuffed tofu is definitely my favorite item out of everything on their menu. It was crisp and vegetables inside felt fresh. The sauce that came with it is also a perfect pairing to the dish. The 4 pieces really fill you up so definitely good for its price. Portions are definitely good at this restaurant and you can easily find street parking in the neighborhood behind. Mohinga was okay. It was behind the first two times I came here. The fish cake in Mohinga was tasty as well as the fried peas. The boat noodle has very rich flavor. Broth was good and they gave generous amount of bean sprouts. La Phat Ye was good. They normally don't offer iced but we asked them to change. Overall, it's a great restaurant with decent prices and we hope that we can get back into business ASAP.

I feel blessed to say that one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in the United States is…read moreliterally right here in the Twin Cities, because the food here is heavenly to the point of me consistently returning despite living far from the establishment. In terms of food, there is a mixture of Burmese, Thai, and Karen dishes, and each one that my friends and I have ordered has been a hit. The tea leaf salad has amazing texture because of peanuts and fried garlic, which provide crunchiness, and has amazing flavor because of lemon juice, fish sauce, and tomatoes. The noodle salad has a light taste without adding the given lime piece, and then the rich nutty taste gets evoked and elevated upon adding lime juice. The zaap crispy has very well-seasoned fried chicken pieces, and medium spice level gives it a good amount of flavor. The shan khao soi is so creamy and tasty that even tasting the curry broth itself is a sensational experience, and the chicken leg included literally has "fall off the bone" meat. The boat noodle has a mixture of sweetness and savor, while the sweet flavor does not overpower anything at all. Finally, the mohinga clearly has fish cake flavor and texture fully infused, making it authentically delicious. We also ordered the knyaw iced salad, which was a mixture of ice along with crackers and other types of sweet ingredients. I thought it was very similar to a type of Vietnamese dessert called chè ba màu (three color pudding), and fully enjoyed it. The establishment only had one dessert, and I thought that was sufficient. While the street contains many excellent restaurants, I personally believe that this establishment stands out in terms of taste. I must also mention that since my friends and I arrived when barely anyone else was there each time we had gone there, we never experienced any service delays that some have mentioned in their reviews. I probably will give this place a 5 rating anyway even if I experience slowness, although I hope I don't.
