I went to Juche Korean Restaurant and had really tasty dishes! The entrance is a small entryway with curtains, and there are signs with a QR code to add your name to the waitlist. I was 2nd in line and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. There's limited bar seating, but it was already full. Overall, it's a small restaurant so seating is pretty limited. I ordered the spicy salmon bop and jjapchae noodle dish. The spicy salmon bop (bibimbap) was so tasty, with crispy rice and all the banchan ingredients like kimchi, pickled veggies, and bean sprouts. The salmon mixture was creamy and not too spicy, all topped with an egg. So good! I also liked the gochujang sauce at the table and added it to both dishes. The jjapchae was soft and super flavorful. Definitely my favorite dish and one of the better japchae noodles I've had. I loved the mix of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors and how well everything complemented each other. Juche is one of our go to spots here on the east side of St. Paul, so if you're a fan of Korean food, I definitely recommend giving this place a try. The place is small so I don't recommend large groups, but a nice outing for a date night or a small group of friends for food and drinks. Overall, the food here is great due to the quality and quantity of food you get. I believe every dish is prepared well and meant to bring out the best in Korean food. Their menu has expanded a little bit and changed over the years so it's good to see them add some new things every now and then. We do miss some of their dishes from a few years ago that they no longer serve, but everything is is still very good. The chefs and staff are all very nice as well, and every now then, you get to chat with Eddie Wu while he's serving food, and he's always really cool to chat with and always offered my kids crayons and paper to color with when they were smaller. Street parking. It is cute though and you can sign up to be on waitlist if it's busy. Is very small inside. There's a little bar area and they play Korean dramas on Netflix! It was a nice dim vibe. Service was a little slow. 4 of us and they only brought 3 waters and took a really long time to bring the 4th water. Then they forgot one of our mixed drinks until we had to ask. Food wise, the teokbokki was good- chewy yet soft and not too spicy. Japchae had good flavor. The banchan flight was tasty and there odd definitely a kick in the kimchi. I got the juche classic bop, it was ok only. A bit on the plain side. My sister got the beef bop- way more flavor and if you like bibimbop if recommend this one instead. They have Decent drink menu. Chose to eat here for 2 friend's birthdays and it was amazing! Our server was young a quirky which added to the charm of this very tiny restaurant. Don't let its size food you however.. what they lack in space, they make up for in flavor! We got multiple alcoholic beverages as well as 2 different sake flights. Highly recommend the sake flights! Juche is a cute little Korean spot in St Paul. I really was excited to try it, but sadly, it left a lot to be desired. Went on a Saturday night at about 7:30. We were a party of 3 and they were able to sit us pretty much right after adding ourselves to the waitlist. The ambiance is cute. Dark, but cute. They have little lights at each table which is great for being able to see the menu. After we got the menus, we had to ask for everything else... we had to ask for water, refills, plates, chopsticks, boxes - you know, the usuals that are usually given to you. Out of the 4 people that brought food, took our order, or refilled water, only one had a slight smile. Instead of a greeting when a new person approached the table to take our order, they say.. did you look? Then we get to the food - I probably should have read more of the descriptions but we quickly ordered since did you look meant, seemingly meant are you ready to order? We ordered a carafe of peach lychee soju, beef dumplings, spicy crispy tofu, cute jumbo wings, and General Khan. The last three listed had the same flavor profile, just varying levels of spice. Spicy crispy tofu - barely crispy but is spicy! Cute jumbo wings - tasted just like the sauce from the tofu, just not as spicy. General Khan - again, same sauce but with no spice. Beef dumplings and soju were good. I would be open to trying this place again if I was with someone who really wanted to try it, but would not order any of the same items. read more

I really love Korean food. I was looking forward to trying this place. This is a late review. I was there at the end of '24, I believe. The ambiance is excellent with a fantastic soundtrack. The food was not as great. I am glad they nixed the potato pancakes from the menu. Mapo tofu is good. That Sichuan pepper does what it's supposed to do! Having had Korean food in other places, it's a bit odd to have to pay for ssam for the meats (and to not have banchan comp). It's a fairly small place, about 5 tables and booths, then a bar with 4 stools. Street parking. I'm willing to give it another try. read more

Another hidden gem! Juche is a cute little Korean lounge hidden along an unassuming street in Saint Paul. I'd been wanting to try it for a while, so we stopped in for dinner recently and somehow secured a spot right away! (The entire restaurant has roughly six tables with additional bar seating so definitely plan ahead if you want to stop by). When you walk in you immediately see a QR code for the waitlist, the bathroom, and a curtain entrance to the main lounge. It's small, but the lighting is great and we enjoyed the ambiance. I've been on the lookout for dumplings that melt in your mouth nearby, and this is the closest I've gotten since my Chicago trip. Highly recommend ordering some to share as well as the kimchi fried rice. Truly mind blowing (and spicy). The bulgogi burger was a little juicy for me but the flavor was great. The drinks were also delicious and I loved the unique cocktail options! Within intimate settings, I look for stellar all around service and I was a little disappointed in the food runners. That being said, the food, drinks, and server completely made up for it. Wow, this place literally blew my mind! Such an amazing experience, the food, the owner, his family who worked alongside with him just created such a beautiful atmosphere. The way this spot was decorated what so cool and vibey! I got blessed to visit and eat here a few weeks ago, right at the end of my work trip in Minneapolis. The night before coming back home to San Diego, my group and I were looking for somewhere to eat after a long day of work, and we found the coolest little Korean spot in Minnesota. First and foremost the food was incredible. So much flavor and the spices were out of this world. The owner brought out a variety of spices to try with our food and it was such an spectacular explosion of flavors. We love spice so it got pretty spicy lol. We also tried a variation of different sojus that the owner recommended and they were all very enjoyable. A million percent will be coming back here next time we make it to Minneapolis. The food is good, the service is good, and the atmosphere is fun! I ordered the Bibimbap with bulgogi and crispy rice. It was good. The veggies were fresh, the bulgogi was flavorful and tender, and the rice was uniquely prepared and crispy. The rice was a little bit challenging to eat though because it was in a ball shape and kind of hard. If I ordered this again, I would go with the steamed rice instead. The kimchi was very strong and more on the sour side too. I would have preferred it to be less sour, but it still went okay with the dish. And I was disappointed that the $6 add on portion of bulgogi was pretty small. I've had bulgogi bibimbaps at Korean restaurants for $14-$15. For me, $23 is too much. Overall, I'd give 3.75 for the taste of food, atmosphere, service, and -0.75 for the price. I like the restaurant and I'd come back, but I'd probably go to a small mom and pop Korean restaurant instead to get bibimbap. read more

This place is ! I have never seen Soju on a menu, and it was explained that it flavored sake which usually results in a more sweeter taste. They infuse the Soju themselves in house and it was amazing! I suggest getting a flight, by the lychee was my favorite! The atmosphere is so cool. Dark, loud music, high backed booths. Perfect for a date or a group. We took our kids here and sat at the bar... they were extremely accommodating with paper and coloring crayons. The staff were unfazed. The food is splendid. We came on a weeknight around 6 pm and it was quite full because the restaurant is so small. Limited seating so make sure to plan ahead. * There is an option to add yourself to the waitlist but no waiting room. Food * Class Korean food is known for its rich flavor and all three selections we picked seemed to be missing that richness. Flavor was mild and I would have wanted more. * Green onions are used for toppings so if you don't like green onions, make sure to clarify with your server. * Korean fried rice: tasted plain to me * Japchae: had the most flavor I was looking for but I tasted more vinegar than usual. * Pork belly: good texture but wanted a stronger flavor. Visited 5/24/25. Omg I love Juche. Such a vibe and definitely worth hitting up St. Paul for. Started off with the lemonade drink and then got a beef bulgogi bibimbap. The drink was phenomenal-I didn't know if I would like the Drunken Wu (chai with the lemonade) but it hit the spot and paired well with my food. For the bibimbap they gave the choice or steamed or crunchy rice and I went with crunchy. The melding of flavors worked so well together and made for a really great bibimbap. My friend got the mushroom version and loved hers just as much. Overall, the vibes were good and I would definitely come back for a drink and apps or for a full meal again. Love this little Korean eatery on an unassuming street in Saint Paul. We came early since we have kids, and they did have a nice kids coloring book. The food is super authentic; I had the tteokbokki and Korean Fried Chicken wings, both were amazing. My wife loved the maceral, and my parents liked the burger and bi bim bap. We spend a lot of time talking to both owners, who obviously care a lot about their restaurant and customers; it's always great when proprietors do that. They also have a us a few things to sample that are off-menu, which was cool. Half of the menu is dairy-free, but be sure to check if you are looking for that. Juche is a double-threat bar & restaurant that's perhaps unmatched in the Twin Cities. Killer drinks including house-infused soju (get the flight)? Check. A menu including the best Korean fusion food in the cities? You know it. Big booths to spend evenings with friends under the purple neon glow? Just head to Juche already. The service here is the icing on top, always friendly and never hurried. It's worth noting that this place is popular, and wait times at peak hours can be long. It's all for good reason though. Considering this was a new spot, I'm sure there's a great amount of pressure to do well and with it being a smaller place, there are some areas for improvement. This spot is pretty tight. My friend and I came 30 minutes after opening and had to wait an additional 45 minutes. Each table was extremely close to one other and service was a little delayed. We did not get any refills on water. The food was mediocre. Pork Belly and Chicken Wings are two dishes you can't mess up, I would say that the Bibimbap was extremely watery due to the excessive amount of lettuce. Some of the dishes that came out were also already lukewarm. Hopefully, in the future, they can figure out the pace and make improvements. read more

This was a small cozy place so spots fill up really quickly. I would expect a wait if you're showing up with a party greater than 2. I do think it is definitely worth to try this place at least once. The inside is such a vibe with the music and dim lighting. The food was amazing! I really enjoyed their wings which had a few options for the different flavors. I chose the spicy bbq one which were not spicy at all in my opinion and were very sweet and tangy. The bi bim bap was so flavorful and good. I definitely recommend with the crispy rice for a combination of different textures. I also got the mapo tofu which was different than the mapo tofu I'm used to but it was very soft and flavorful and I enjoyed taking a bite out of it with the bi bim bap combo. I hope to not offend anyone, but this place people overhype it too much. It honestly not the best Korea food I have ever had. I have had better food. I wish it was as hype as I saw it on Tiktok. First of all, let's start with the food. The spicy burger was trash. It is not worth getting. A burger patty with pickles carrot and radish. Nothing spicy about it and it was not that good. The fries was actually pretty decently good. It was crunchy, but again fries get soft so they lose their crunchiness. The bi bim bop was oka. I did like the crispy rice, but it just taste sweet and not savory. I wish it was better, too much lettuce, makes the dish very watery. Which is not that good. The pork belly was not spicy and crispy at all. People on social media hype the pork belly too much. The Bindaetteok was oka, it wasnt all that. I prefer other korea authentic place in the city. If you want a nice cool vibe, this is a good place to chill and hangout with friend. Not a place for big family. I got the wing with spicy bbq sauce, it was actually good. Recommend the wing. The service was decent. The server was nice, however i ask for a spoon like three times and never got my spoon. I just stir my bibimbop with chopsticks instead, it wasnt good, but got some of it stir. Overall, the bar and drinks look good. I dont drink, but i heard other people say it was good. I highly recommend checking out Juche. They have interesting food, a cool bar/lounge ambiance, and great service. Food - Love that the menu is labeled with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. I'd classify the food as fusion. Some of my favorites are the PB&J with kimchi , chips with Korean salsa, five mandu and tofu. It's a flavor adventure and definitely worth a try. Ambiance - The restaurant is small, it's a dark lounge and has a cool vibe. Haven't really been to many places like it in MN but it reminds me of bars I've been to in CA and AZ. Drinks - I've tried few drinks here. My favorite by far is the primal wound. It's a sweet and spicy flavor bomb without being too sweet. They also infuse soju and have rotating flavors. read more
