Family Thrift is a non profit that provides families in need in Broward, Miami, and Palm Beach with clothing and furniture. They will pick up your gently used clothing and furniture for their stores here in Margate and in Lauderhill. They also do buy outs so their stores are a mixture of new and used items. They have this store in Lauderhill and another one in Margate. I had fun sorting through the treasures. They had clothes, furniture, household goods, decorations, and collectibles. There was a lot of things to look at and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of inventory. Everything was neat, organized, and fairly priced. I saw several people who looked like resellers picking up items and checking prices on their phones before popping it into their carts. If you see something you like grab it. Went there today. It was closed, shuttered, looking deserted. Do not think they are in business any longer.

Have a large selection of items. That being said, most things I looked at in the furniture section are ridiculously priced and dirty. I honestly could buy brand new furniture for same price or less than this place is asking. People come to these places to save money and save stuff from being thrown in a landfill. I would give higher rating if place was more organized, prices were affordable, and items cleaned up. read more

They have no fitting rooms to try on clothes!! And only accept cash! Items looked nice, but not going to buy if I can't try on, and I don't carry cash on me. So never again. Stayed 10min and walked out. read more

I needed to get a bunch of tennis and badminton racquets to donate for a youth program. I've avoided this thrift store for years because there's a decent Goodwill in a much less congested area in the same plaza. 2 star - cash only. Highly inconvenient for the non cash carrying crowd. In the age of square and apple pay, how difficult is it. And an in store bilk-you-out-of-three-bucks ATM machine? C'mon!!! Grr. 2 stars - the entire store smelled funny. Clothes and house hold goods and stuff seemed in some sorts of consistent (not exemplary at all) organization patterns; I found what I was looking for rather quickly, but that smell was with me for about an hour after I left the store. Ugh. 4 stars - I had some decent customer service. My cashier was splendid. Seeing how customers were letting there little ones go nuts and how rude customers were to the workers and other customers, bless the workers there. 2 stars for the pricing, rather high for what they were selling. But then, a lot of thrift and discount stores nowadays are overthinking their value. While I was there, announcements were made via intercom of specials for the hour, think blue light special-esque. Oh man what a staff!!! EVERY. SINGLE. EMPLOYEE. was a gem. Happiest folks of any thrift store I have ever been in to...and trust me...I've been in A LOT. Loads of stuff to look through. It's not wonderfully organized but who cares its a thrift store not a Nordstrom. The prices were super reasonable, even better thanks to the 50% off ticket color of the day and the majority of stuff seemed to have that color tag (a rarity)! Even though I came dressed to thrift (i.e. in a fitted sleeveless dress with biker shorts underneath), ready to tastefully try on any and all finds out in the open, it was unnecessary as they had (clean)dressing rooms. The even use a proper tagging gun instead of staples unlike most thrift spots. I only wish this was my local thrift store but alas I am an out of towner. Even still I was hesitant to review this spot, let alone with such a high rating, with the fear that when I finally do get back here the secret will be out and I will find nothing. I scored 3 shirts, a dress, a belt, a pair of pants, and a shirt for my man for 10 whole dollars. PLUS got a free book in the whole deal. read more

I don't really know what I was expecting from this store, but I was pleasantly surprised. Clothing was well organized and color coordinated. Pricing was as thrift store pricing should be. Saw some decent brands and a well stocked plus size section. Staff was friendly and obliging. I'll definitely be back when I have more time to shop. read more

Everyone here was super friendly and nice, my friends and I felt so welcome. As far as Covid safety, everyone was wearing a mask and encouraged to stay 6 feet apart. The clothes were so nice and the store is big, you'll definitely find something here! Everything is super affordable and they were having an additional sale on top of the already affordable prices! If you haven't been and are looking for a good place to go thrift shopping this is the place! I also saw some reviews saying it was cash only (they definitely changed that, my friends and I were able to pay with card)! I luv this store. They're kind and most things are reasonably priced. Apparently, the original owner had retired and sold the business so there's a few changes. First, there's no more really koool, vintage decorations on the walls, including my favorite "Cheap Is Beautiful" plaque over the entrance. Second, there's no more cheap coffee and the entire counter area has been removed. Last, there's no more clothing in the back room, just furniture. It's still a great thrift store and I manage to find lots of good vintage clothing and more unique items. Every thrift store is hit or miss because of constantly rotating items but they had many $1 and even 50 cent items upon my particular trip. Highly recommended! read more

One of the dirtiest Thrift Stores I have ever been to. Everything is mostly junk and broken. Huge overpriced furniture section in the back which mostly looks like it came from bulk pick up garbage nights. Slimey salesman in the furniture department as well. He seems like he just came from working used car sales. Definately not worth the time. read more

I am 9 months pregnant this place sold me a dresser on Sunday and agreed to deliver it on Monday. On Monday while I was at work the dresser was delivered badly scratched up with deep embedded scratches as if the metal in truck scratched up the dresser. I called and spoke to the "manager" David who said he would get back to me on Friday. Today is Friday and David is giving me the run around, either not answering my calls, or not returning my calls when he answers and says he'll call back. I sent him pictures of the damages, told him I wanted to be refunded the cost of delivery and the cost of fixing it. He is refusing. When I told him I would make a complaint as this is putting major emotional stress on me and my pregnancy he said "Mam do whatever you have to do". This place is awful. Who would rob a pregnant person of their money and be so heartless about it. I would never refer anyone to go here.
