    All-American BBQ Feast

FAMOUS DAVES IS THE SHIT! FINGER LICKIN GOOD! The prices went up but the food was awesome! They remodeled the place so it's a bit different then I remember. We definitely over ordered! The meats were cooked perfectly, the smoked chicken was perfect all around. Get some smoked chicken! There's lot of parking! I wish they would put some outside seating in the parking lot, there's definitely enough space. Famous Dave's gives you a bbq place feel right when you come in. The decor hasn't changed much and I always liked it this way so it was nice coming back to eat here. Service was friendly and quick. I always appreciate them having extra bbq sauce at the tables with a variety. Thank you Famous Dave's!

The sweet tea! Yum! The brisket and the beans and the corn bread and the rib tips were also good. I do have only 1 question, why is there corn in the Mac & Cheese? It tasted good but the corn threw me off texturally. The sauces on the table were great too! I would eat at this bbq chain again. I'll just try a different side.

Ordered the Labor Day Feast. The restaurant was efficient. Generous portions for a small "get together". Will definitely subdue any drunk manly craving. :) Cornbread was good. Chicken skin was perfect. Brisket was a bit dry. Pork was good (smothered in bbq sauce). Coleslaw is the reason for the four stars. Step up that game!!! Also, make sure the lid is on securely! The juices will soak your car seat.

I can make BBQ at home in my slow cooker. If you want good BBQ go to Smokey Jon's not a chain restaurant.

Horrible, horrible catering service and experience. Expect the food to arrive 2 hours late. Save your time and money, go elsewhere.

Birria Tacos have been all-the-talk, and I finally found a spot in town to try some! I found out…read moreabout this place from by BIL, via FB (I believe). Here's the 411 directly from their website--"At Palate Pleasures, it's the Chef's Choice. Our Menu rotates every SUNDAY! Try one of our Signature Sunday Brunches or Dinners and see what everyone's talking about!" The Process:: Pre-Orders are done online--and limited! I chose curbside pick up, which involved: noting your name, contact number and selecting a pick up time (every half hour, between 12-5 PM on Sunday). Upon arrival, a quick phone call is made and food was brought out quickly. The Grub:: I ordered The Birria Box, which included--8 Shredded Beef Birria Tacos, Rice, and Beans (or you could choose 4 Shredded Beef Birria Tacos and 8 Signature Party Wings). Condiments included--Consomme (To Dip Tacos), Hot Sauce and Guacamole Salsa. Everything is so flavorful, and each condiment only took the tacos up a notch! The beef is seasoned well and got perfectly with the crunchy taco shells! The shells look like they'd be oily, but surprisingly not and add good texture. The consommé is savory and tangy, very flavorful! The hot sauce is not spicy (at least not for me--I like a lotta heat!) and remind me of a chipotle spiced-buffalo sauce. The guac salsa is like a mild, creamy salsa verde with a different tang from the hot sauce. I definitely plan to order this again, and look forward to try other items in the near future!

I went here on Sunday for the Birria Tacos and they are definitely worth the hype. If you're like…read moreme, you've been seeing these all over the internet for months. Finally found a place in Madison that does these, and they are GREAT. The dinner combo was $15and came with rice, beans, and 4 tacos as well as lime, sauces and consumme to dip the tacos in. The beans were okay, but you're not coming here for the dang beans! We had the option of steak, shredded beef, or shrimp in the tacos, we went with the shredded beef and it was phenomenal. The cheese was melty and hot, the tortillas were crispy, the beef was well seasoned. Heck, even the plating was good and it was in a styrofoam box! I will for sure check this place out again. Their website says that they have a rotating selection every Sunday. And they pics on their website look super legit. I rode my bike here and just got the tacos brought outside, they usually do curbside pick up, but there was one small table out in the parking lot that worked great for us. My only regret with this place was that I didn't order more!

Weirdest name for a restaurant with some of the best food in town!…read more I've been to Mother's Day Restaurant a few times now, as I frequently travel to this area. What a great place! When you walk in, you are truly walking in to a family diner that oozes of home cooked goodness. Food cooked to order that is delicious every single time. My personal favorite, as I've been there for lunch a few times, is the BLT. Sounds simple, right? I love a good BLT. Simple by design yet some places still manage to screw it up. Not Mother's Day. They got it right on target. Perfectly toasted bread. Crispy crunch salty bacon-y bacon. Crisp fresh lettuce and a perfectly ripe tomato to balance it all out. Can you taste it? I want it.....now! The servers at Mother's Day are about the friendliest group of people you will ever encounter in your life. Guaranteed. Anyone that says any different needs to look in the mirror. Always attentive, friendly and helpful. When you walk in, you'll notice the bakery case. Pastries, cakes, pies....whatever is fresh and in house that day. On my last visit, I noticed the carrot cake in the case. So I asked about it and was assured that it was incredible. Well, good luck cramming down a piece of anything after you finish your meal at Mother's Day. Did you say, to-go? I'm listening.... They sold me on the carrot cake and guaranteed that it was amazing. So, later that evening, I confirmed their words and that carrot cake, was in fact........AMAZING! Would I go back? There's not a lot in this particular area in Horicon, WI. But that's the beauty and the secret of Mother's Day. You don't need anywhere else. You could put 2 or 3 fast food junk chain restaurants all on the same block and I'd never even notice them, fully knowing that there is a gem of a restaurant called Mother's Day just waiting to serve up some delicious home cooked food.

Rare is it that I go out for two meals in a day, and never before to the same restaurant for them!…read moreBut yesterday, we had to drop off my car for some repair work, so indulged in breakfast out at The Coop, a favorite. The food is always delicious, the service is truly impeccable with well trained, friendly servers, and it's very clean and homey. I had an egg special, and my choices included two (perfectly cooked) poached eggs, three crisp on the outside sausages, a well balanced fruit bowl with fresh pineapple, melons, and grapes, and a short stack of their light and fluffy pancakes. My husband had over easy eggs, bacon, pancakes and fruit, plus we both had The Coop's rich, deeply flavorful coffee. Everything was excellent and at a most affordable price. Fast forward several hours: my daughter and her young sons were in the area on an errand, so we met up and of course the boys were hungry, so as The Coop was, once again, very close, we went there. My daughter was very happy to see decidedly different menu options for kids' meals than the usual. Two of them had grilled cheese sandwiches with fruit cups, the third had a scrambled egg, sausage, a pancake and fruit, my daughter had French toast, and I had two cheeseburger sliders with fries. Everyone loved their food and the atmosphere, and they all want to go back. Two great experiences in one day!
