The food was delicious and very tasty, and the prices were just right. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We visited around Christmas, and they had Santa and Mrs. Claus there. My toddler is afraid of Santa, but Mrs. Claus was absolutely wonderful--she slowly approached her with a warm smile and gently reassured her, helping her feel comfortable instead of scared.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. While the coffee wasn't our favorite, the food more than made up for it and fully satisfied us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is an older place, but it has a cozy, charming atmosphere that makes it feel special[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The Haystack - hash browns, biscuits and gravy and two eggs.

Excellent food in a classic small town cafe. Stopped by here based on Yelp reviews as we were driving to meet someone. Service was great, food and drink came out quick and the staff were extremely friendly. Had the Haystack and the biscuits and gravy on there were some of the better ones I've had recently. Ordered a pancake on the side because I had to try them. It was also very good. Reasonable prices and a huge cup of coffee to go along with the meal. Highly recommend if you find yourself anywhere close to here.

Delicious breakfast place in the heart of garden prarie. I like the homestyle vibe and I feel like I came to my grandma's home. the meals came out super hot and fresh. The blueberry and cinnamon roll pancakes were amazing and huge. I highly recommend this place for a tasty breakfast. I am super full and satisfied . I will be back soon.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Farmer Granny ambiance + hometown restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Family goes here once a week. Decent coffee. Excellent prices. Friendly servers. Mostly a breakfast joint but their burgers are worth the stop. The place where the regulars are.

First time yesterday, I am a long time Reuban sandwich lover but the one I had at the Garden Prairie Cafe was the best I have ever had.

Great classic Americana diner. Biscuits and gravy are delicious. Their lunch menu is good too. Try the prairie melt!

We had sandwiches, but they have a fish fry on Fridays with many choices of fish and shrimp.

We have eaten here several times. I was surprised I hadn't logged a review, but am happy to…read morecorrect that error on my part! This has a nice restaurant vibe - nice tables, tablecloths, art on the walls, good lighting, nice, quiet carpeted spaces. There is a lot to like. We made a reservation, were greeted at the door and then promptly seated. Water came out quickly, along with the menus and the wine list. The wine list was a bit light in that all the bottles were typically lower cost. With such a wide variety of food on the menu, it deserves a bit more depth and some better wines to be included. Not that the wines that were included were bad - they were not. They are just at the very low entry end of the market. Picking up a few from Justin, Stag's Leap, and others in the $80 range would help enhance the restaurant's list. We both ordered entrees, which came with the either soup or salad - we both elected to get salads, where I selected a Caesar and my wife had a standard salad. The Caesar had plenty of parmesan cheese and croutons. The dressing was a bit thin - traditional Caesar dressings are cream based, this one seemed to be light on the garlic and anchovies. No anchovies were available, so it's kind of a light "Caesar." The regular salad my wife had was good - she enjoyed it. For the main course, I ordered their Filet Mignon, medium rare with a baked potato. The server asked if I wanted butter and sour cream, which I did and which was provided. The filet is provided in a cabernet reduction. This may have been a bit much, it was hard to taste the filet with the reduction. The filet came with broccoli which was steamed and was nicely done. The baked potato was cooked through (as expected, and worked well with the butter and sour cream. My wife enjoyed her Shrimp and Grits - the shrimp was cooked quite nicely and seasoned well. We were concerned about the meal size, so we skipped an appetizer, and it was a good thing since she took half of her shrimp and grits home. We were not rushed out of our table, and had a good time.

Food was terrible. N.Y strip steak was very poor quality. When complained about poor quality of…read moresteak the server said he would tell the chef and we got not even an apology much less compensation. Gouda chicken - not tender and way too much cheese sauce. Mahi Mahi hardly blackened and very dry. When this restaurant first opened the food quality was great but has gone downhill in the last year or so. Our last dining experience was the worst. We will not return.

My waiter was nice, but I feel I would've expected more. I can't blame her completely, I just wish she was more attentive to my table instead of taking orders from other tables that were seated later than me. I understand that they seemed short staffed on a Monday mid morning being so busy. Take this review as you will. Food was good.

The food itself was quite good, but the experience was a bit tricky as a gluten-free diner. There are no GF labels on the menu. When I asked our server what I could eat, she initially suggested the gluten-free pancakes and gluten-free toast. However, when I asked if the pancakes were cooked on a separate griddle, she had to check with the manager and confirmed they are not made on a separate surface (though the hashbrowns are cooked separately). Ultimately, they also couldn't toast the GF bread either. I ordered a cheese omelette (cooked in a clean pan) with hashbrowns and untoasted GF bread. While the server wasn't super knowledgeable upfront, I really appreciated her taking the time to verify the kitchen's cross-contamination practices with management. Options are definitely limited, but the meal tasted great. The server also added gluten allergy to the ticket and advised no cross contamination.
