We went today to get my mom some shoes after her Mother's Day lunch. We wandered all over the store finding several pairs she liked. But before we could continue she needed to use the restroom (which she has used in the store before) and the clerk would not let her go back. So we left the store, without the shoes. Sometimes it's all about the service. If there were a sign posted that said, "no public restroom" or she hadn't used it before that would be one thing. But there wasn't and she had. I'm imagining we'll go back in the future will just be sure to do so with an empty bladder.

Received a Christmas gift of a pair of Nikes with the WVU logo on them but they did not fit. We…read morecalled the number from where they were ordered from and they told us to go to this location to exchange or return them. We were told that they were in stock and we could try on a different size to make sure they'd fit. Once we got there, there was one other customer infront of us with one person behind the counter. Once the salesman was done helping the other customer he started helping us. We explained to him what the issue was and he was very helpful and polite. However, the shoe was not instock at that location and we weren't offered to try on a pair to make sure we got the correct size. I don't mean to say the salesman didn't do his job, the customer infront of us just kept butting in asking 50 million questions after the salesman was helping us. They did arrive at my home in less than a week and a lucky guess on the new size worked great.

There is a complete hunting section in the back right of the store full of gun safes and various styles of hand guns, rifles, and ammo. The shoe selection and brands is similar to competitors like Dicks Sporting Goods. If you are looking for assistance, the store is in full supply of workers willing to assist. One of my favorite areas so far was the full variety of swimshop decor and clothing. Perfect timing for the spring/summer season. As always, don't forget to download the Academy Sports rewards app to get the best shopping experience. The Academy credit card promotions are also posted throughout the store. Overall, Academy Sports is very clean with a welcoming atmosphere. The prices appear to be comparable to similar stores.
