Frustrated!!! I have a credit card account here so you know right off the bat I like this store. But this last transaction really left me upset. Let me start by saying I live an hour away from this store location. I originally bought a pair of vans and got them home, tried them on and hated them. (I currently own another 16 or 17 pair). So I went back in to exchange them. Of course though, every one I picked out was out of my size...grrr so I talked to the manager and she said "let's look on the website and you can see all that we have available ". To me, that was a great idea. In fact hard choice. I chose new skool blue checkered and she asked what size I needed I said "I wear an 8", she went on with the process and had them being sent to my house so I did not have to make the hour drive again right away. Waited and waited, they finally came today (approximately 8-10 days later) and they are a MEN'S size 8!!! Now, I am positive I do not look like a man, and I've dealt with this manager on multiple occasions. It's not that she wasn't nice or helpful, she was, but NOW I have to drive the hour again to return these (thought it was resolved so that's providing I can find the receipt) and re-order the shoes all over again and then the waiting starts. I DID call the store, the young man that works there answered, he's awfully young, he tried to reassure me not to worry bc I have 90 days return them. For me it's the principal, the gas money (gas prices are through the roof) and the waiting 10+\- days to get the replacement! Maybe if they would have offered me some form of compensation I might not be as mad, but like I said he was young and I feel did his best. read more

Quality/Quantity - Time to get some new replacement Birkenstocks. $114 each. I am going to wait until they go on sale for $99 each. Atmosphere - Good size and a clean organized store. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 8pm, and on Sundays from 11am to 6pm. Plenty of mall parking. Service - N/A, self service. Actually, there are plenty of employees working today, but not one person said hi to me... They were all working hard and I actually felt like I was in their way... Price - Reasonably priced, especially when on sale. Worst customer service and support they lost a $150 same day delivery and would not help me they hung up on me and said it wasn't their problem . I ordered on their site same day delivery I paid them i never received my order . The manager at this store is atrocious to people . I'll never shop here again . I made it to the door five minutes after Mrs. E originally went in. Not even ten steps inside, she appeared and spun me right around. The place was in total disarray. It looked as though a massive incendiary device had detonated. The story goes: She inquired about work shoes for her job at the hospital. The representative this company hired to be their face to the public replied in an extremely snotty tone "No, but we have sandals and boots. Why would we sell work shoes? That makes no sense; I don't know why you'd come here." In the future...we won't! Why are they selling sandals in October? Must've over-bought. Oh wait, not my problem. This place has the worst customer service, no greeting or acknowledgment as employees shove passed in the tight isles and talk to each other loudly across the store. Signage is so confusing and out of order, bogo deals are completely misleading. Was told there was no promo even though the sign literally said it in big letters and there was a posted in the window, was told "it's in case we do have a promo" what?? read more

They are the best place to buy shoes in this area, the staff are very nice and they carry other things such as accessories sunglasses, scarves, and other interesting things. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Upon arriving to the store instead of being greeted I was told "we're closing in 15 minutes" I said ok. Kind of rushed but ok. Started looking for shoes not in the most relaxed state, and in the middle of it got personally told "were closing in 5 minutes" in a rude tone. As I felt rushed I left. On my way out the lady dares to say did you find anything? LOL. I said no not in a rush. Anyways let's just say I won't EVER come back to this place in despite of the cute selection they had. We went in looking for Crocks shoes and the lady who greeted us took me straight to the section where they were. She also let me know that if they didn't have the right size they could order it. Not only did they not have the right sizes but they didn't even have the styles we were looking for. We chatted with her some more and she was able to oder the styles and sizes we were looking for and they were shipped for free to our home. This is a great service and we were also able to take advantage of the buy 1 get 1 half off deal even though we were ordering the shoes on line. Great store, great service. read more

Congratulations! Because of your assistant manager, I will never shop here again :) I came in to buy my son a pair of specific shoes he wanted. I had a rewards certificate for $10 off. Mind you, this shows no minimum balance or special requirements to use it. I wanted to get in and out. Per the usual, at checkout, the asst manager was trying every upsale tactic there is. I decline, and she tells me i cant use my certificate unless i buy another pair of shoes. First annoyance even as I am looking right at the thing and it says nothing of the sort, and so far this year I have spent well over $250 in shoes here...but I didnt want to argue. I was going to grab another pair. Its pretty obvious Im in a hurry, when my freshly potty trained 2 year starts tugging on my leg she has to pee. So, here is a predicament. Mind you she did go before we left, but life happens with small bladders. I ask politely if my toddler can use their bathroom. The manager says no, because they have merchandise back there. Excuse me?! I get there is no public bathrooms...i work in a place where we dont either, but generally we make exceptions for children and the elderly...not to mention she insinuated I would steal something! So the option was buy my things and let my kid pee on their floor, which I sort of wanted to do...or take her elsewhere and never spend another dime here. I chose the latter. read more

After running to the back multiple times looking for correct sizes, Mike even helped us swap out the laces in a pair of shoes and never missed a beat greeting other customers with his warm and friendly smile. Took my daughter to get shoes there. First time in looks nice and have 3 workers standing there talking to each other and doing a very good job in trying not to help any of the guests. After waiting a few minutes I had to tell the staff that I was sorry to interrupt their conversation but I needed to know a few things as where certain shoes are located in the store. You would have thought I was the rudest person in the world, imagine a customer asking for assistance while they are working. After a feeble hand gesture in the general area of what I was looking for and a sarcastic eye rolls from the staff I went in search of the shoes, but after looking at the mess and drinks left by others I decided along with my daughter we can buy shoes where they are willing to help its guests. So we leave and tell them not to worry about having to walk all the way over to the register and do a little work. The only reason they got 2 stars was they do have a lot of shoes with more personality than its workers. read more

Worst shopping experience of my life, and I'm the one customer who prefers to be left alone! Walked into the store, one employee trying on shoes while her friend is twirling a stick like a sword (really in a store with kids!). No one greeted me, no one asked if I needed any assistance and when I tried to find an employee to ask if they could check a shoe size.... ghost town! The entire time I had to listen to the women criticizing every brand of shoe in the store (good salesmanship) I finally decided on a pair and walk to the register.... would've been easier to just walk out of the store without paying! I'm sorry to have interrupted their evening by wanted to pay for my shoes, but at least wait until I am out of the store before talking nasty about my attitude. I had a bad experience with this place, when I tried returning an item back, that I had paid cash for it and I had my receipt they wouldn't want to return it unless I showed my ID, drivers licence, and email adress. I believe this place is doing something illegal and trying to sell your personal information and I will get to the bottom of it with my attorney, but i will never go back and I dont recommend it to anyone, unless you want to expose your personal information to criminals. read more

So, following my review, the company send me a yelp message offering a coupon. 20% off a new purchase! They really expect me to buy another crappy pair of shoes at a price that would be higher than their average sale price? And then this email: "Since your purchase was made outside our return timeframe, we suggest contacting the manufacturer. The manufacturer would want to know if the item is defective. Hopefully, they can assist you further." They do not take any responsibility for what they sell and want you to go to their supplier and waste your time there. Purchased a pear of $45.00 sandals in June, they started falling apart in July.. I have no worn them since they started to fall apart. I'm a petite so have never experienced a sandal fall apart in a month, it should not matter anyway. I had to leave the country on a family emergency so only was able to take them back today. Even though the sandal was clearly broken and faulty I was told that they could not exchange it as it was worn. I found this odd as obviously I would wear the sandal after I purchased it. I have lived in Carson City for 21 years and for at least half the time only purchased my footwear at Famous Footwear. I have a lot of friends and family that visit me from Europe and always send them to Famous Footwear to make their purchases. This is the first time I have ever attempted to return/exchange anything and was very surprised that they don't do exchanges on worn shoes even if faulty. I will not be returning to Famous Footwear ever again if this is the policy. I just wanted to make this post and make sure everyone knows that they do not accept returns/exchanges on faulty shoes if the shoe has been worn. Don't buy shoes here, the quality is not what it used to be. read more
