Been to this location several times. The store is very clean and organized. I'm always greeted when I step foot in the door and asked if I need any help a few minutes after looking around. They have a pretty good selection of shoes and they are all reasonably priced. Their credit card is awesome too. You earn rewards for purchases and get notified of special going on in the store. The store manager needs to attend some serious customer service classes. I came in last week to return some shoes and the line was very long. Having two kids with me, I decided to look at some shoes for my youngest. After trying a few shoes on to no avail, I went to the clearance since there was not many sizes for my little one. I had my bag with me with the return and the store manager just took it from me and didn't ask if I needed any help on finding shoes. She was more concerned about the stupid bag I was holding. After that interaction, I decided not to buy shoes for my youngest one. I just returned my shoes and paid for the Nikes I had selected earlier. I go to the counter and of course it's her, rude again. I'm not sure what I did to her. She then has the audacity to ask me if I wanted socks. I wanted to use a coupon which the cashier from last week let me use from RetailMeNot and manager proceeds to tell me that they don't accept RetailMeNot coupons which has not been my experience in the past, so I called BS on that. I will never return to that location and probably won't shop at another famous footwear again. This interaction left me offended and upset. The other workers there are really nice and I have no problems but that store manager needs to learn manners and customer service. read more

The manager at this location is just horrible! It's clear she hates her job. I now order on-line but sometimes have had to return. I HAVE the receipts and she makes it SO hard to return! I actually reached out to corporate the last time because she did not want to return my order because I did not have the card with me. They replied and said as long as I had the receipt it could be returned. Unfortunately I had to go in again and she gave me a hard time again! Someone needs to reach out to her and better train her in customer service! It's no wonder when I have gone in there the store is empty! At checkout, I was aided by a very helpful and professional young lady (whose name I can't recall, it may be on the receipt) who was wearing a mask fully. However her colleague was barely wearing a mask. The mask was folded and only covered the mouth, if that. the customer service in this store is HORRIBLE! the assistant manager did not know how to look up my account in the system I found that strange. Manager needs to do a better job training her employees before leaving them out in the floor alone on a busy Sunday afternoon . When the store manager came out she was very RUDE she was in a very bad mood ignored me when I told her how I felt. she did not thank me for my purchase. Yesterday, I arrived at Famous Footear and with couple of ideas in mind for matching shoes to different outfits. I had a few ideas about what I wanted to choose. Devin Is the one who help me. Never shopping here again. The salesman were incredibly rude to an older woman how needed help seeing and reaching shoes on a higher shelf. The salesman told her over and over that he is not going to rearrange the store for her, instead of just helping her. You could see the inbarasment on her face. Came here looking for some new work shoes for my husband. Left unsatisfied. Why? Because the internet claims they have the brands of shoes he likes in store. We were wrong. He was looking for some old school New Balance and all they had was a couple tennis shoe types- not the same he says. Also, their Nike's are ridiculously expensive. WHY? I thought this was somewhat of a discount store? Anyway, the store is spotless. Its clean and very organized and I like that. The girl working was very friendly as she greeted us the second we came in. Tips: your clearance section needs some work. The selection in my size was very minimal. The Oceanside store there is never enough help and when you ask for help they act like you are unconvincing them. But when you find what you are looking for and go to pay them they are all cheerful and try selling you something else. The customer service there is very poor including management. I came in to return an online order in store, which they said was fine. To do so they wanted my drivers license number and could not explain the reason they needed such personal information. To return online they do not need a driver's license number which seems very odd to me. I do not give out such personal information unless it's absolutely necessary. I came here to make a return on a pair of shoes I bought yesterday that I had worn out of the store and to my car. I got home and I discovered that my arch supports didn't fit in the shoes. So I took them back today and explained the situation and told her I wanted to return them and she said that she couldn't because they had been worn. And for the record, there was no sign of wear, just a tiny smidge of tread on the bottom where you could tell they'd been walked in a few feet. She was very rude in her explanations and only offered me store credit even tho the shoes were in the box with receipt bought less than 24 hours ago. I'm upset because I can't wear these shoes nor do I have an interest in buying a different pair. The customer service of your employee was terrible and her lack of sympathy was through the roof. If I could give ZERO stars for the employees Customer Service skills I would. They are the most unprofessional unhelpful and just overall terrible people for the job position they are in. Famous Footwear should really look into the people they hire to run their store. The store is always empty and now I know why. The tranny with the hand tattoos and bad attitude isn't the kind of experience you dream of when going shopping for new shoes. He was combative and beyond rude to my whole family and we spent close to $700 for the 4 of us. I have been a director of Quality and Customer Care for 7 years and I would NEVER want the face of my store to give that bad of an impression. He told us they don't go over size 13 and when I started looking for myself since he said it in a rude way so I questioned his statement. I found tons of 14 and even 15 size shoes. We would have taken our business elseware but the girl upfront who is really a dude made us so tired of shopping with his nasty attitude we were over it. Never going back that's for sure. I go into the store today to buy a couple pair of shoes. When I open one of the boxes I cut my finger, the only reason I noticed it was a boy walked by me and stared at my hand. I go up to the cash register ask to use the restroom and am told they don't have a public restroom and to go to the Sears. i didn't cut my finger in Sears, the customer service in my eyes was piss poor. I can understand a policy of not having a public restroom but I had blood all over my hand. Right now as it stands, never again. read more

I asked for help and to possibly check the back for a certain pair of boot (I even brought it over to him) and with the quickness replies that they don't have anymore and all they have out on the floor is all they have. Unbelievably bad customer service. I buy a lot of running shoes and decided to try out famous footwear. I usually go directly to the under armor or Nike outlet in Carlsbad and after one experience at famous footwear with Rosie the store manager, I will never go back and recommend that you do not buy from this company. Whether it's the store policies or company policy or just bad customer service, they sold me shoes that obviously were worn but they were the only size they had so I bought them and then decided to return them one day later when I found them cheaper at the Nike outlet in Carlsbad for $20 cheaper. They did not want to take them back, Rosie refused to help me, I had to get another store manager involved and after making a big scene they resentfully returned my money. Rudest customer service ever! I wasn't expecting VIP treatment at this place however a little common courtesy and knowledge would have gone a long way. My 80 year old mother purchased shoes and they turned out to be mis mates. Since we didn't have a receipt naturally they reacted surly and unhelpful. They gave us a $10 credit for their mistake when they were still selling the same shoe in a different color for $40. I felt they could have done more to help us but whatever. As other reviews stated, they have a small selection in women's dress shoes (large selection if you want flip-flops or casual bum-wear), but they never seem to have my size (8.5) and the customer service is lacking. Famous Footwear Oceanside is our go to shoe store. If they don't have the correct size or color in store they will look it up online and offer to get them for free. They can also mail them to you. We've had wonderful service there. I like the mobile app for keeping track of points and the purchase record is always on there. read more
