After visiting several shoe stores, I suggested we stop by Road Runner Sports and I'm so glad we did. Adam was absolutely amazing. He took the time to perform a fit test to evaluate her stance and better understand what type of shoe would best suit her lifestyle and needs. My mom is always hesitant because most stores never have her shoe size in stock, but Adam patiently listened to her concerns and managed to find three different pairs for her to try. What impressed us most was that all three were styles she never would have considered on her own, yet they were incredibly comfortable and fit her perfectly. There is nothing more important than having comfortable shoes. Our feet support our balance and mobility every day, so finally finding shoes that provided both comfort and style meant the world to her. She was so excited that she immediately changed into her new shoes and wore them for the rest of her vacation, constantly commenting on how comfortable and stylish they were. We truly couldn't have asked for a better experience or outcome. Today's visit to this location reminded me why I usually leave without buying anything and then drive over to Fleet Feet. This is a great store if you are new to running or new to having your feet analyzed. The employees analyze your feet, show you the analysis and bring you shoes specific to the results. It actually is pretty cool. But I'm now 15 years and 30+ half marathons into running, and find myself disappointed when I come here. The issue is that the employees don't seem to know much about running outside of what their iPad tells them, and even worse, they don't seem to care. No one will ask "what shoes are you running in now?" "What type of weekly mileage are you getting in?" "What are your goals?" or "do you have any races coming up"? They were out of stock in my shoe today and didn't bring out comparable shoes or shoes they know and recommend. They just said it was out of stock. They cannot speak about the shoes they sell outside of regurgitating what their iPad tells them. They don't appear to have interest in the local running community either. Last year I mentioned to the associate that I was training for the AFC, and he asked me what that was. For all these reasons, I left again today and drove 45 minutes to Fleet Feet. Their employees are genuinely into running, well-versed in the products, and want to help you find you the perfect shoes PLUS they will encourage you to go for a test run around the parking lot before buying. read more

It has now been 5 years since my purchase in store. I am extremely disappointed in this business' customer service. I initially signed up in 2020 and got an email today saying that my VIP membership successfully renewed. Say what? That was canceled before the year was up. Then I find out from speaking to customer service that my card has been charged every year since then (and I had to specifically ask this question as they tried to divulge the response). I was notified a few days before my credit card company of suspicious activity. Then I get this email. So they've been charging my card for 5 years without my authorization. My advice to you all is double, triple, quadruple check that your membership is canceled and no longer active. I would also remove any credit cards on file with this company. I tried a few shoes and tried the custom insoles (which I wasn't pressured to buy). I didn't get them since they didn't feel a difference with the asics I bought. Purchasing isn't always the easiest process, but I can understand that. My issue is the exchange process. I had shoes that my wife loved just needed them in half a size bigger. Took 45min to make that exchange. Zero awareness by the employees to make a rational decision when the lines are long. Everyone just ringing out their own sale. The prices are insanely overpriced compared to purchasing directly from the manufacturer. What followed was one of the best in-store experiences I've had in a long time. I went here recently to find some ultra comfortable shoes to wear at work. I stand for at least 8 hours a day and have been having pain in my feet and calves for the last year. I have been wearing DC Court Graffik shoes with Dr. Schols insoles for several years. As I've gotten older, the DCs just don't cut it anymore. Walking in the showroom, I was greeted, put in the system for an appointment in 20 min. Doing my research online prior to arriving at this store, I had my eye on Hoka Bondi SR shoes. They put me on a treadmilll to see how I walked. Next I stood on a machine that analyzed my feet for size, shape, arch stability. The Hokas that I wanted were one of 3 that were recommended. After walking in them, I liked them but still wanted more cushion. The employee then decided to make custom insoles for me. She cooked them to get them hot, then I stood in them to mold them. She informed me that I was under no obligation to purchase them. Adding these insoles made all the difference. I knew the Hokas were $175, but the price of the insoles was never discussed. I was so pleased I requested a second set of insoles be made. The employees ( I think her name was Amy) was happy to oblige. To make a long story short the insoles cost $120 per pair. The cost of the Hokas and 2 custom made insoles was approaching $500. I justify it for the quality, their experience and hopefully eliminating pain. Assuming these Hokas and insoles perform the way I think they will, I will be a long time customer. I highly recommend this store. read more

On my first visit, I arrived during posted business hours only to find the store closed. When I called the next day, I was told they had closed an hour early due to a staff shortage--without any prior notice. On another visit, I waited about 15 minutes to meet with a staff member, only for them to briefly drop off the shoes and then leave to assist other customers. My last two visits involved wait times of over 30 minutes just to get an appointment, and both times, I ended up leaving out of frustration. I've always had great experiences at Road Runner Sports in San Diego, but this location consistently falls short. I've been a premium member for years but have never fully taken advantage of my benefits. Recently my newish shoes started to prematurely break down and were making my back a MESS. I came in and exchanged them for a different pair without the bat of an eye. New inserts, shoes, and I was back out on the street with a brand new pair of shoes. It was crazy...but they back up their guarantee 100%. I keep coming back because they store my purchase history and can see what I like and don't like so as to better tailor my preferences. My only criticism is that even though they have a huge selection of shoes, they never have my size. Basically stand around the store, no one helps you, and when you ask for assistance (I just wanted to pick up shoes to purchase, didn't even need to try them on), you are told there is a virtual line and you have to wait longer. Why don't they tell you this when you arrive? Not to mention the person I asked for assistance was standing around doing nothing. The system may work if the employees were friendly and helpful, but they treated me as if I was bothering them. I've never had custom insoles before but after taking the assessment for the type of foot, it literally confirmed what I already knew, extremely high arches and somewhat wide foot. The insoles may seem expensive at first but it's money back guarantee if they get break on you or they no longer contour to your feet. I think this place is a hidden gem because there were a lot of people in there in a random Thursday afternoon but if you have 15 minutes get a pair of custom insoles. I came in today because lately because my feet have been hurting when I run or play basketball. I heard they do stuff here where they can evaluate your feet through several test. I decided to come in during my lunch break. Jasmin helped me out by having me jog on a treadmill, stand on this machine that evaluated me and also explained to me what is going on with my feet. I never knew one foot was a whole size bigger than the other. Jasmin helped custom fit some insoles for me and then brought out some recommendations of shoes that might fit best for me. I tried on several pairs with the insole on the left shoe and regular sole on the right. Both felt nice but I like that the insole was custom made for me and suppose to help me with other things as well, like my posture, foot pain, and good on my knees as well.
