Sad to write that we're no longer Fans of Fan and Jonny's. Our first visit was fantastic! The service was great and the people were lively working together. The food was amazing I had the lemon pepper shrimp, soup and the panco fried chicken (little scorched but ok) parmigiana over Alfredo angel hair pasta. The waitress was attentive, patient and friendly. Fast forward one month... The same waitress but this time she was shitty with short patients and rolling her eyes as I asked questions about the menu items. We noticed a big difference in the overall feel of the restaurant. We talked about leaving but decided to give it another go. Husband ordered the BLT po boy which came with only two strips of bacon he had to order extra bacon just to taste meat on the big bread. I ordered the same again: my panco crusted chicken breast was scorched, dry and tough. The pasta was perfect as well as my soup and shrimp. I ordered garlic fries and they were awful nasty, oil logged, limp, ugly and not golden brown and crispy. She said "They come this way." "You ordered them." Do better with all that professional chef equipment I say. Sent them back and had hellah time getting them to remove those hunted fries off the recipe. Needless to say we won't be going back. Charming appearance from the outside but it ends there. Hours posted on Yelp and on the business storefront show open from 6PM-9PM. There is no mention of reservations anywhere, including their website. My family enters at 6:10PM and there are two tables with a few diners and at least 10 tables completely empty. Staff approach and ask if we have a reservation. We don't have a reservation, they just opened for the evening, and there are NO others waiting to be seated. We leave because it's obvious "we" are not welcome here. My husband returns to ask how to go about getting a reservation tonight and was told this empty restaurant was fully booked with no reservations available. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone but appreciate the opportunity to explain to my young daughter there are still places in this country only open to certain people. read more

Cute little restaurant in Downtown Greenwood with the sweetest waitress, Tierra. Definitely that small town place where you can sense all the locals go. The tablesan are each unique- it's like sitting at your grandmas kitchen table. We had the Nashville Hot po-boy, catfish po-boy, and the chicken salad po-boy. For dessert we got a bread pudding with rebel yell creme anglaise and the hot fudge pie with gelato. Omg-just do it! Go ahead and get the bread pudding. No words! Everything was really good- and different. This place is awesome! The decor is so cute and right at home in the Delta. We sat by the window at lunch for lots of natural light. The service was great, our server was so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely stellar- seriously the crawfish salad was one of the best salads I've ever eaten. The fried asparagus made it! Highly recommend. read more

Well I tried to go to Fan and Johnnys but on Friday night they don't open til 6??????!!!!! I'm not sure how you let everyone that works in town go home at 5 and lose all that business. Seems to me you would be open at 5 for happy hour and capture the down town employees. Weird hours to say the least. Ended up at Websters. Lovely atmosphere, amazing food. My mother and I tried the black eyed pea cakes for an appetizer and they were so delicious- they melt in your mouth. I had the crawfish pasta salad, and for someone who's NOT in love with boring salads, this salad was so good. It hit the ball out of the park. My lunch was so disappointing that I barely ate my food. I ordered a miso tuna dish. The presentation was awful, it was undercooked and the flavors were off. My husband ordered a couple of appetizers that were a bit better but also extremely disappointing. The prices were also pretty high from what I recall. Not sure what all the buzz was about with this place. I would not recommend spending your money here. read more

Great space right downtown. Love the summer appropriate food, especially the fresh cantaloupe. Apps were amazing, especially the fried green tomatoes. I had a special, the tofu Reuben, which hit the spot and came with the aforementioned melon and a delicious lady pea salad. I have to say, the "side salad" was by far the best I've been served. A large portion and well dressed: mixed spring with spinach, sliced red onion, bacon bits, cheese, and tomatoes. The chicken was spicy but not too hot. The bun was the star of the show. The perfect combo of soft and airy on the inside and flakey crispy on the outside. Stood up well to the generous piece of chicken and also well dressed. Homemade pickles served on the side. Very unique flavor. They were HUGE spears. Sweet, savory, and had a neat "twang". The ranch dressing was another surprise. Obviously homemade. Great viscosity...not too thin, not to thick. Had a nice dill kick! I will go back and would definitely recommend. I drank water because I had already had 2 coffees and a Mountain Dew that day. Before the tip, my meal was $12. Great bang for the buck. I couldn't even finish it, I was really trying. This mouth watering catfish Po Boy sent me home sleepy eyed and satisfied. Golden Delta fried catfish on a toasted hoagie, under a bed of fresh slaw and homemade tarter sauce. We drove through Greenwood, Ms and found the jewel Fan & Johnny's eat in diner. That your furnishings and business were very clean. Had great art on the walls. All customer were really enjoying their selves. Our waitress Tishondra said please seat your self, I'll be with you shortly. Upon returning greeted us and asked could she bring us something to drink. She took our orders quickly and return just as quickly without drinks, ask if we were ready to order. Looking over the menu we found it very interesting very well put together. It had a lot of fun mixtures. We all ordered different things. I got the special pepper steak and mashed potatoes with chard Shishito peppers and fried cauliflower. A other ordered the Cat fish fingers, black-eyed pea cake, garlic fries, remoulade seared mustard greens with bacon, and sweet potato. The last of our party ordered Nashville hot chicken tossed in hot sauce butter with homemade pickles and ranch. I must say this restaurant did not disappoint any of us. I was disappointed that The Crystal Grill was closed for vacation. My disappointment left after eating here. The food here is great. Don't be deterred by the prices. You get what you pay for. At Fan and Johnny's you get a lot of food and even more quality. I had the Catfish Poorboy and my wife had the Salmon Salad. While my sandwich was huge and delicious, her salad was over the top. They use the freshest ingredients available. The hostess and server were very polite. The ambiance of this place is very unique and inviting. I will recommend and I will return. read more
