The service was awful and instead of apologizing they justified a one and a half hour wait to actually receive the food. My wife ordered the salmon which was Luke warm with cold mashed potatoes. Ok we loved this place. We had kacia as a waitress and she was awesome. She added to the ambiance of the early Xmas decorations and the two chefs who came out to greet us. We loved the Mac n cheese dish, the shrimp and grits and the salmon. And I'm choosy. The drinks were fantastic. The lemon drop. The Moscow mule and the half peach schnapps and half vodka. What an excellent place! Very accommodating to our large group! We knew they would be busy during the Juke Joint Festival, so we called in advance and reserved a table. We all had such a fun time, the live music was impressive and lively! The bartender and entire wait staff were all very friendly! It was kindof hectic in there, with the festival going on, but they did a great job! The food did take a little while to get to us, but like I said- we were a large group, and it was during a festival. Completely understandable! The fried shrimp was wonderful .....but don't order the Gumbo!! It was a bowlful of rice with a little liquid (not the thick roux that usually exists in Gumbo). There was Sausage (Boudin?), Chicken and Carrots. We went, for the Gumbo, because we had eaten it there another visit and it was wonderful. The one stars is for our waiter I failed to get his name. But he was the only good thing about our experience. The entire experience was sad. Now I know you are reading this because you are here for a festival. To hear some great music and to help keep this town alive. That is why we are here. And why we return yearly. But you know what I am disheartened by the local stores new And old taking advantage of us monetarily. So I am going to review them as honesty as they truly deserve. He had to pull the shell off of a the shrimp. Really? You didn't even bother to take the tail off while preparing it? Oh wait it was frozen wasn't it?he had to dip his fingers into the sauce and pick up the shrimp which was rubbery and over cooked and then place it back In the pasta. The sauce was nothing to write home about. Now the cheese burger two Pattie's on a brioche bun. That is alot of meat you would think, But you would be wrong. The Pattie's are the preformed fresh out of a box from the freezer section at their local Wally World type burger. Burnt never tasted so bland. And the reason it was a double burger was because one lil frozen pattie wouldn't cover the bun. The French fries that came with it Luke warm and limp. No salt or pepper to give any of the meal flavor. As far as drinks a crown and sprite 10 buck. And house wine about the same. As tourist we know what the printed paper menu is. It means the price is jacked up. The tourist are here to spend money. But if they don't come back, they won't be spending any. My check came to 71 dollars. Your town needs the tourist money to exist. Buy some real menus. Get some better help. I don't mind spending, but, when the food tastes like cafeteria style food: poorly executed at high end prices. It is insulting. And you can be shocked by this and say well there was a festival going on. Excuse me? There is always something going on that is this towns revenue maker. Get some competent help! Make them follow the health code of at the very least pulling back the butt length hair. If you want to be an honest to goodness 5 star establishment then start portraying yourself as one. Or you could always depend on local support only. To the tourist. Stop accepting shoddy service and product because you are excited to be here for the music. Came with a group from a hunting camp in the middle of nowhere. We drove to town and found this COOL place. We were all more than pleased with the vibe, menu, staff, drinks, appetizer and our meals. We got the lemon drop & Moscow mules- bartender did a great job! We ordered the pulled pork nachos as our app, we all 4 loved it! I got the meat ravioli with mushrooms & bacon- it was more herby than seasoned (which I love) and not super heavy like most cream sauces. The shrimp & grits were delicious with very creamy, thick grits. And the brisket and hash was cooked awesome. Overall this was a great experience and, as an outsider, it's hard to believe that a place like this is here in Clarksdale. Has the vibes of a local set up in New Orleans (we are from Louisiana). And the meal prices were reasonable! Drinks were a little on the expensive side for a place like this, but from our experience, worth the price because says they were great! read more

My husband and I flew from California to attend an annual music festival in Clarksdale, Mississippi. This was a 4 day festival. On day 2, we went to Levon's for dinner. We arrived at 7:00 p.m., but there were no tables available, so we made a reservation for 8:00. They seated us promptly at 8. We had had an opportunity to review the menu online while we were waiting, so we ordered right away. My husband ordered a wedge salad and blackened catfish. I ordered an appetizer of baked Brie which was to be served with crackers. For my main course, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. 45 minutes went by. My husband went and asked our waiter why we hadn't gotten any food, yet. After a lame excuse, they brought out his wedge salad. We then had to ask for silverware. Another 15 minutes went by before they brought out my Brie, which was served with a handful of Ritz crackers. Another 15 minutes went by before they brought out my burger. The waiter said, "Are we missing anything?", to which we both replied, "Yes....the catfish!" Since it had not yet begun to be prepared, my husband declined it, and we ended up splitting my burger, which was average, at best. The waiter asked us where we were from. When we told him, he said, "Oh, and I suppose they do everything perfectly there!" Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere? read more

The server was prompt, friendly and a letter to answer questions I subbed spinach side for fries with no problems. Thank God this fabulous restaurant is still with us. Went for dinner last night. Excellent safety measures, plexiglass around tables and mandatory masks. The food was to die for. Shrimp and Grits, creamy and delicious. Filet Penne pasta with mushrooms was just about the best thing I've eaten in a decade. A true gem in the Mississippi Delta, Levon's is definitely deserving of the 5 stars. It's an inviting spot in downtown Clarksdale that's a must for anyone passing through (primarily Blues tourism). The drink selection is very thorough for a small town venue and the service was excellent. Most importantly, their Cheeseburger was what warranted the 5 stars. I'm from Chicago home to many a burger connoisseur and this was on par with the Au Cheval's and Loyalists of the Windy City. We ate dinner here while in town for the annual Juke Joint Festival in April. Was surprised to see so many gluten free options, including pizza. The gumbo was delicious, though extra thick, more like etoufee, with lots of smoky andouille. Continuing the Louisiana-inspired theme, the boudin balls (sausage and rice, like Cajun arancini) were a tasty appetizer. So were the catfish nuggets: lightly coated with corn flour for just enough crunch without being too gritty from too much corn meal like at other places. There is a stage for musicians. A blues guitarist had it on the night we came in. Service was friendly. Would definitely recommend this spot in the heart of the Delta. read more

Very friendly service with lots of menu options. We got the artichoke and eggplant pizza which was absolutely delicious. The 5th star is taken away for the nasty, dirty ladies room. Its an upscale place that should do better in that area. We really liked it here and came several times during our 2 week visit just for drinks, meals and even football. They have live music too. I cannot comment on the food at Levon's because after sitting at the table we were shown, I was never given service by wait staff. Typically this would not be an issue, except I asked twice for menus for our table and, alas, the menus never arrived. My husband and I had spent a couple of hours at Red's and weren't quite ready to head back to the hotel. We didn't really think anything would be open late and were surprised to find Levon's. It looked really new and was nicely decorated. We only sat at the bar so I can't speak to the food. I think the owner was behind the bar (a friendly Australian woman) and she happily described the local beer options to us. Overall friendly and a lot nicer inside than a lot of what you find in the area. I would go back to try the food. read more
