From the moment we entered the restaurant we were greeted promptly, given a nice selection of tables to dine and were probably given chips and drink order taken. Continuing with probably taking our order and the food coming out. Unfortunately, from that point forward, our server was in and around the restaurant, but did not check back. After quite some time we had to add another server to assist with a dessert order and then ask another server for our check even though our server was still around. I would definitely come back as the attention to detail when designing the restaurant and the food was fantastic. La Terraza is located in a decent sized shopping plaza and from both the exterior and interior, it is a familiar ambiance and pretty much reminds me of countless Mexican restaurants from all over the country that I have frequented. I met with a few clients here and it was they who recommended here. They said that Greenwood, Mississippi had a few Mexican restaurants, but this one was the best. Our server came over and was friendly and professional. I opted to go with the birria tacos. Our food was brought in a relatively quick amount of time. I have to say that the birria tacos were pretty good. I would definitely get them again and would recommend them. Keep driving. Party of 3-no booze just soda/tea...$74. Had the food been good and the service been at least "acceptable " I wouldn't complain. They're getting 1 star because the restaurant itself, and decor was nice. The food? NOT so good...service? Even worse. I'm not upset that the language barrier was tough to communicate through but if you can't communicate, go get someone that can. Food was mediocre at best and that may be stretching the truth s a bit. We asked for our appetizers 4 times (I'm not exaggerating!) and finally on the 4th ta h request he brought them over...cold! When the bill came the prices were higher than the menu but $1.00 on every item. By now, of have it and asked flour a manager. Rather than get me a manager he brought over a sign that said due to rising costs the menu pricing was incorrect. When asked where the sign was on my path to my table he pointed out a sign posted on the door that was no less than 6 1/2 feet high on the door...maybe higher. I'm like 5'6. A female waitress came over and said the pricIng was temporary...so is my business. When it was apparent they weren't sending for the manager, I paid the bill and we left. I will not return for all reasons stated but mostly because the food and service needs to be elevated to a higher standard. Best Mexican food in Greenwood. I have been here several times for lunch and dinner. Big selection of food with some really good seafood choices. House margaritas are much better than expected and the bill is always a pleasant surprise. I like the fajitas quesadillas and anything with shrimp. The food and drinks are good. The service is slow at times. I was overcharged here before, by about $3. I ordered a burrito loco and was charged +$13. The burrito loco costs around $10. I know because I ordered before and after I was overcharged. The last time I went there, I ordered the burrito loco, and they brought me a polo locco. I'm not sure what the gal from N. Hollywood was talking about... I've been to La Terraza's about a dozen times. They almost always seat you immediately. Don't be fooled by the outside facade, the decor is as nice as any Mexican restaurant I've been to. We hosted a party 20 people there, with appetizers and drinks for about 18 bucks a person. As soon as your seated they immediately bring complimentary fresh chips and homemade salsa-- get your drink order and keep the refills coming. There are always plenty of families there-- seems to be a favorite destination of the locals. I usually order a burrito or the steak tucino-- a 12 ounce rib eye with mushrooms and bacon, Mexican-style, with refried beans and guacamole (for 12 bucks--Whooo hoo!!).
