This is only our 5th camping trip in our travel trailer, but we have stayed at a few other RV parks when we camped with my in-laws. Formerly called Emerald Coast RV Resort, Sun Outdoors Panama City Beach had great online reviews, which were supported by numerous pictures. Our "style" of camping may be a little different than most. We are not ones to just sit under our awning and relax. We like to be on the go and see everything a city has to offer when we camp. Therefore, we use our travel trailer as a relocatable hotel room that serves as our base of operations as we explore the surrounding areas. However, even though we may not use them, we prefer RV resorts with lots of amenities. Sun Outdoors Panama City Beach is a beautiful resort, and he front office staff were all delightful. It is meticulously landscaped, and they pick up the trash twice daily (10:30 AM & 6:30 PM). There are 2 heated pools with adjacent shower facilities, multiple key coded laundry rooms, a fitness center, a clubhouse, a sand volleyball court, shuffleboard "courts", pickleball courts and a covered basketball "pavilion". The sites are decently spaced and easy to access. The resort is in close proximity to highway 98 and Front Beach Road. You are near the beach, Zoo World (no smells or loud animal noises), Wonder Works, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Pier Park, and a plethora of other activities and restaurants. The only negative I experienced is that while at the back pool, there were numerous kids under 14 years old at the pool and they were unattended by any adults. They were rough housing in the pool so much that we decided to walk to the other pool. I should have advised the staff but opted not too and chalked it up to being an isolated incident. I can definitely recommend this resort with a good heart and would definitely go back.

A bit of a hike to bathroom/showers though. Looks to be space for one in the fenced area trash collection for future expansion (hint hint). Enjoyed our time here.

Why does the lady in the office put a 'Be back in 15 min' sign up; 15 mins before 7pm? This happens…read morealmost nightly. I am Always looking for RV sites in the Florida Panhandle. The area offers more fun per square inch…read morethan most tourist spots in the USA. The Campground offers two nice pools, playground, store with -ice, snacks, lending library, lending games & puzzles, camping & food items plus a location that is right in the center of all the main attractions in Panama City Beach. But the proximity to the beach is the main plus. You can walk, bike, to the end of the property and there is a public access to the Gulf of Mexico. Wonderful access with parking and 3 ways to get onto the beach and even a pier. The camping spots are average but well kept up. Some of the park buildings are a tad outdated BUT are Very clean. We are in an amazing site #92. Our site is Very big, long, but some sites are narrow and short. They do a good job of putting bigger rigs in bigger sites. There is a water park next door for the kids. The price is very reasonable for the beach and about average for camp sites in general.

Being in a tent sight the first night was pretty hot, we would've love to swam before going to bed but the pool closed at 9pm. Having it open later would be something I'd love to see as there is no lifeguard anyway. Anywho, cabin was clean but expect frogs inside. This was also the nicest KOA we stayed at on our trip, the bathrooms were lovely!

This is one of the newest RV resorts in the Panama CIty area. They have wide roads around the park…read morewhich make it easier to pull in and out of your site. They also have several really nice cabins for rent. The staff is very friendly and very excited about their new facility. The layout of the park is nice - it is a circular road the has a nice water feature in the middle (pond with fountain). There are palm trees around the park but very little shade but the landscaping and grounds are really pristine. The actual pads for the RV's are wide. I believe they have around 108 level sites. The pool and playground area is small but brand new and clean. There is a small store inside the main office building. They are located on a main highway that makes it easy to get in and out from the property. The only drawback here is that they are a little pricey to be several blocks from the ocean.

Even if you're not an early bird if you go down there at night there are tiny squid that like the lights on the dock that are so cool to see. You're also allowed to fish off the docks! They are set up 20 minutes from Mexico beach which is less crowded then Panama City Beach and has so many cool shells to see! There's coffee within walking distance and there's plenty different places to eat within biking distance; doughnuts, Thai food, a steakhouse, etc. This is the spot to be! Can't thank them enough for also being fully willing to help when I had some camper problems when I was about to leave!

The campground pays for a fishing license so everyone is welcome to fish off of the private dock. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. We were always kept in the loop of things going on in the park. Short distance from many parks, Mexico Beach, amazing food, and a coffee shop in walking distance. We had RV trouble when we pulled out and Margie was ready to help and took so much stress off of our plates. Reasonable pricing and laundry on site as well. Would definitely recommend!

The pool was heated and refreshing after a day at the beach. Our pull-thru site was perfect. Lots of trees and shade. Loved that Publix was appx 5mi away, easy to do my shopping upon arrival. Fishing is brackish water but had a cleaning station. You can brong your boat and golf cart (check with office on rates and rules). All the staff was super nice and helpful. They have stuff everywhere, one even had his food truck parked in his lot! The pool was not clean, they had old crappy furniture around the pool, the screen on the door to the pool had a huge hole, there was no need to know the code to get into the pool area, so any kid could get in there without a parent . I guess the lights in the trees don't work anymore so they just cut the electrical cords to the lights and they just dangle and blow in the breeze. The boat they advertise to use, I wouldn't step foot on, overall it has definitely gone downhill. The one good thing it does have a huge dog park. It was so bad we left a month early!

It's tucked away down a not-so-busy road, so not too much traffic zooming past. All the sites, whether pull through or back in, were long and fit RVs and a car comfortably. The only downfall is that their water supply didn't seem too clean. Our faucet filter caught a lot of unwanted sediments or debris. That's probably all of Florida/pan handle and not unique to them, but also not too sure.
