My entire session of shampoo, haircut and blow dry got over in less than 25 minures. My previous experience was with Allie and she was great. So booked an appointment at Fancy Nancy but ended up being disappointed. This time the appointment was with Darlene. She took like less than 2 min to shampoo and condition my hair. Hair cut was not that bad. But I really didn't like the blow dry part. She was pulling my hair in every direction with her brush and didn't really care my hair was being set properly or not. Was in desperate need to clean my eyebrows but was really afraid of trying a new place close to home since the last time I did that, the stylist removed too much hair. I have very long, thick eyebrows and need someone who knows how to work with them. I found this place through Yelp and although there wasn't a review for threading, I love how I was able to see the stylists and their certifications. Sunitha not only heard my concerns and did exactly what I asked for, but she stopped every step of the way to make sure I approved what she was going to do. She even gave me tips as to how to help my eyebrows grow in the places where the past place took too much off. I can't even believe that it was only $10 for both my eyebrows and upper lip. In the city where I usually get them, it's $12 for eyebrows only. She highly deserved her tip and has a new customer in me, all thanks in part to her great customer service! read more

Best place in New England! Professional, clean, incredibly knowledgeable staff. I started coming here when I moved to NH because the place I found turned my hair ORANGE when I asked for highlights. Amanda reassured me that she could fix it and recommended hair products to tame the color until my hair could be colored again... that was 3 years ago and I refuse to let anyone else work on my hair other than Fancy Nancy's hair dressers. I do not understand the good reviews on this place, my experience was one of the worst I've experienced at a hair salon. I usually go to the hair company but needed to get my hair done over the weekend because of things going on at work. I came on yelp and after reading the good reviews, called and made an appointment here for a partial foil. My appt was at 10:30 . I waited at the desk for 10 mins with at least 7 other people working there (including the owner who is seated right there) and no one said a word to me. Finally a receptionist came in from outside and told me to have a seat. I was a hairdresser for 10 years and so as I sat there I noticed that it looks like the salon may have been nice at one point but hasn't been updated since the 80's or 90's, even the "style books" were from the 90s. At 10:50 I saw a girl walk in and go in the back room. I wondered if this was my hairdresser. 5 mins later she came over and told me to follow her. I understand sometimes things happen that would cause you to be 20 mins late for work but an apology or explanation would have been nice as a first time customer who doesn't know you or the salon at all. We sat down and I told her that my hair is a little dark for me and that I needed my roots done to brighten the whole thing up. She started doing a full foil and I told her I was there for a partial. A partial foil which generally takes 1.5 hours start to finish, maybe two. Fast forward to the three hour mark when she was finally done putting in the foils. She brings me over to put me under the dryer and I go to sit in the sit and almost break my ass because it's completely caved in and has no springs anymore. I'm sure it was a lovely seat in 1985. She After that she brings me over to the sink to wash me out, again the seat is totally messed up and doesn't align with the sink which puts you in an awkward position on your back and my neck wasn't even close to being in the sink. She actually said I know the chair is super uncomfortable, sorry. She rinses me out with ice cold water which is running down my face and neck. The next fun thing was my eyebrows, I asked her if she does them and she said yes. We go over and I can feel her putting the wax on my eyelids as well. She also put wax over the same places twice which you aren't supposed to do. My eyelids were burning so badly I knew she must have ripped my skin off. We go back to her station and she takes the towel off an I see my hair is brown. I came in dark blonde and said it was dark for me and she turned me back to a brunette. At that point (almost 3.5 hours later) I told her I had to go. I didn't want a haircut or a blow dry. I got in my car and noticed that all the skin was ripped off my eyelids. I got home 4 hours later with burnt eyelids and wet untrimmed brown hair. I worked at a big salon in Dracut very similar to this place, but it was clean and we actually cared about the customers. I am giving it one star because they were able to get me in so quickly... now I know why. read more

Wanted to thank Patty at Fancy Nancy's for the excellent care she gave to my daughter today. My daughter was home from college for her Fall break but only home for Sunday since she goes to school in NC. I looked online for a salon open on Sunday. Fancy Nancy had very good reviews and I went on the website to read about the staff. I made the call and explained my daughter had had her hair blonde for a couple of years and wanted to go back to her natural golden brown. I was told that would be no problem. I asked for an afternoon appt and she asked if 3,pm would work. I said that would be perfect. I think I was speaking with Ashley. She was very nice, patient and professional. Patty was everything I was hoping for did an amazing job. She gave my daughter a beautiful cut and color. Now my daughter will be able to go back to her natural color without the ugly roots. I am sure she will continue to see Patty when she is home and I hope more people will too. I know she is a newer stylist at this salon but has over 14 yrs experience from other places. read more

Stylist did not listen when I told her specifically what color I wanted. Ended up with a flat lackluster red. Decided to return and give her another chance because she cuts well, I showed her a photo and sample of the color I wanted. She swore she could match it exactly. Again, dark red, completely flat, covered my natural highlights...like paint dumped on it, no shine Was quite upset..called owner who said she could correct it. She ended up going next door to a beauty supply store for a color removal kit. I left with half pink hair and ended up stopping at Sally's for a demi color to fix it myself. I went to this salon to get a cut and color which I had scheduled with Ally ahead of time. The only appointment she had that day was mid afternoon so I worked my day around it. When I got to the salon, the woman at the desk looked in the appointment book and said I wasn't scheduled with Ally, but with an other hairdresser. I specifically asked for and made sure my appointment was with Ally when I called. I asked to talk to Ally to ask her if she'd at least fit me in for a haircut. She told me if I waited an hour then after I waited for 20 more minutes changed it to an hour and a half from then making it an almost 2 hour wait. I would not go here again or recommend to anyone else. They didn't even try to make up for their "mistake." Terrible customer service. read more

I went to Fancy Nancy's and saw Ashleigh. I was going in for a trim (1 inch) and a partial foil (purple). When I called, the receptions it was super nice and helpful. They were able to get me in within the next couple hours. I went in and there was water and coffee while waiting. I was early so I did wait a few minutes, but as soon as Ashleigh was available she came and got me for my appointment, which was at 11, I think we started early. I sat down and we discussed what I wanted and she completely understood how much I wanted to cut and where I wanted the color (my previous red was going blonde). I have dark hair so it's difficult for colors to take to the darker parts of my hair. The color came out great and my ends look 100 times better! Ashleigh was very friendly and we talked throughout the whole appointment. I did let her know that I am very particular about my hair and how it comes out and she completely understood. The whole experience was great. I did get a 10% discount for being a new client and Nancy (the owner) gave me a discount on some good color treatment shampoo since I had just gotten my hair colored. The only reason I'd give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I got home I realized that I had been touching my hair and they were a little bit purple. Ashleigh did her best to use the color remover to get the purple from my scalp so it really isn't to any fault of the salon, but I've had my hair colored a lot and haven't had this happen before, but I also have never done purple in the past. I am new to Nashua and am usually really nervous about hair salons and hair highlighting because of previous bad experiences. Heidi made me feel immediately comfortable and took the time to talk with me on what I wanted exactly for my look. She was really attentive to my specific needs and was able to do some really subtle highlighting specific to my hair color and also style my hair so that I had nice side swept bangs that blended in with the rest of my hair. I am so sad yelp let me down ... I just moved to the area and want to stress this is NOT the place to go if you're used to a carefree experience or a decent haircut. I should've walked out when I slipped (pregnant) on a mat at the chair next to mine and my stylist sat me down and told me she'd wash my hair AFTER the cut. I questioned this twice, but she insisted, and I have pin straight hair so I figured how bad could it be? Bad. My stylist couldn't see how uneven my cut was when I pointed it out. It was obvious. The left side touched my shoulder the right side did not. She told me to just wash it a few times?!? I used to get annoyed about spending $60 for a 1 1/2 inch trim and mild layers, but no more. Altogether the experience reminded me of being at Supercuts as a child. I am giving them 2 stars only because they tried so hard to be nice and gave me the cut for free (I'm not kidding I have to go somewhere else to get it fixed and I have simple, boring hair) but sadly I'm not paying for niceness when I want a haircut. I needed an appointment quickly for a hair smoothing treatment and it was Saturday afternoon at 4:00 so I looked on yelp and found Fancy Nancy! They even had a 20% off first time clients and were open on Sunday. So that's all perfect, but will I get in? I called and got an appointment the next morning. I asked for their earliest appointment and she came in way before their open hours to accommodate me. Impressed! I walked in and immediately felt at home not only because of the salon decor but because I recognized Nancy from a salon that I had gone to many times before. We immediately hit it off again and chatted for the entire time I was there. My hair came out beautiful and she gave me a little boost of self confidence that I needed. Come to find out she does that for everyone she meets and is involved with many charity organizations in the area. Nancy is a very nice, giving, kind, talented woman and I HIGHLY recommend giving this place a try and I've been to EVERY salon in the area.. really. Its was a wonderful experience, I will go back again and I got no red lights on the way and on the way home.! That must mean something, right?
