We love reading menus and this one struck us as both uniquely varied and unpretentious. We made a reservation, asking for a patio seat. Despite it being a Saturday night some space was available. We were seated promptly and presented with the interesting menu we had researched previously. But let me cut to the chase before I give you the full review. This place would be worth driving in from Toronto (1.5 hours) just to dine! We ordered 2 appetizers. The first was a fresh loaf of French Bread served warm with an appropriately crispy/chewy crust. It came with a delicious olive tapenade, that was well oiled with an excellent and abundant olive oil. Needless to say this is not a 'repas minceur'! An excellent opening to a great meal. Our other appetizer was home made Chicken Pate with a smooth consistency. It was plated with baby gherkins, acidulated sweet onions and a small decorative and tasty salad. On one section of the plate a mound of basmati rice completed the dish. It was awesome!
