"Shout out" to Tiffany from my Mom ... brought her to get her hair cut a few days ago. She LOVES how Tiffany styles her hair ... she told me to let you know, Tiffany, how much it makes her "feel good" and smile. (BTW ... I've been going to Fantastic Sams / Danvers for YEARS ... no matter who cuts /styles my hair - and mine is a little difficult, since I have a cow lick hair line - all the women do a GREAT job. Came in last minute to fix a butchered haircut received elsewhere the day prior. Ashely and the rest of the staff made me feel so welcome and comfortable following such a bad experience the day before. Ashley skillfully salvaged a real hack job and kept me laughing while doing so. Highly recommended this location. Before and after pictures for comparison to show you the magic she worked. My only complaint is that the booking platform is not inclusive of trans and gender diverse people (forced choice between male and female), which almost caused me not to come in. And that would have been such a shame! I assume this is a corporate issue, but I hope Fantastic Sams chooses to make the booking platform more inclusive with at least an "other" option to avoid losing future customers. read more

This review is going to be a bit biased, so take what you will from it. That's because my friend Ashley works at this Fantastic Sams location, and I visited her here for a color, cut, and blowout. I absolutely loved the results, and if you are looking for a stylist, book an appointment with Ashley. She did oil slick on an underneath section of my hair. It's my first time doing any type of fun color in my hair, and it came out well. She also cut my hair and gave me a blowout, and I am super happy with both. Ashley is a great stylist and a great colorist. I also loved this salon because the other stylists were super friendly, too. Everyone, stylists and customers, all talked to each other and conversation flowed, unlike in most salons, where you maybe only talk to your stylist, or they just talk to each other. I really had a lot of fun during my visit, and it's been a while since I can say that for a salon experience. I'm looking forward to returning. read more

This was the worst haircut of my life I went to Fs to go get a trim and layers and the girl who I got would not stop talking to the other stylist as I was telling her about how I want a trim and layers and I have bangs and I did not want them CUT but because she was to busy talking to the other stylist, she didn't hear me and she cut 4 inches off my hair and angled hair in the back to look like a Karen haircut and she cut my bangs when I asked her not to when I got home I cried for hours it's been a days and I still am crying about it I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! read more

I know, I know. I used to drive by these places and think "hmmph! what is so fantastic about that?!?". But with the economy in the crapper and my bank account falling lower and lower with every used textbook I buy, desperate times called for desperate measures. Enter Fantastic Sams. I was indire need of a new do and decided to rough it by moseying down the street to this place. The staff were all extremely friendly and there was no wait at all. A woman by the name of Lauren shampooed me up and got to work recreating the hair do that I had ripped out of a magazine. I must say she did a bang up job (no pun intended although my bangs did look swell) and seemed genuinely friendly in a non-obnoxious, non-"I'm your hairdresser, so let's dish kind of way". Very much appreciated. To break it down. Friendly staff, convenient, skilled hair dressers, shampoo and cut for less than 20 bones including tip= Yes, please! I will be back! I recently visited this salon because I was in dire need of a haircut "fix" and a friend recommended that I go see Ashley. I had a great experience and am completely satisfied- I have since returned for a highlight/ foil and brought our daughter in for a great cut! I also love their hair products! The biggest surprise is how affordable everything is- from the services to the products- amazing! Ashley is wonderful- she is very talented and has a great personality- and the best part- she listens! As a hair dresser my self I am always very nervous going into any salon. I was blown away one of the best hair cut of my life. Plus it was fee because I donated my hair to locks of love which is huge most places make you send your own hair out. I also got my eye brows waxed and they did an amazing job as well . i have been to F.S.once for a color and cut. This has been the second time in my long life that I have had a salon color my hair. The first time the roots came out bright orange (I have red hair). I was told that I had "hot roots". Okay. It was a joke. Decided to find another salon to get haircuts. Got a coupon in the mail for 50% off at F.S. When I called to make an appt. I discussed the problem I had had previously and asked for someone who is very good at coloring hair. I was told Lauren would be coloring my hair. She's been doing color for a long time . While I was a there I showed a box of color that I purposely bought to show her the color I wanted. I also took out from my wallet a magazine picture of the haircut and style. No guessing involved. To my dismay.....the shoulder length style I wanted was up to my ears and the color was much darker. I was truly disgusted. I mentioned it wasn't exactly what I showed her and left the salon. I then told myself I will NEVER go there again. Wait it gets worse! It is more than two weeks ago and my colored hair is transferring onto everything I rest my head on! I have ruined my COUCH, my pillows and cases. When I sweat, the sweat is dripping light orange color. I went to see the owner in Middleton, Kim, but she told me her husband is the owner and .gave me his card . I emailed him with my complaints and he had brushed me off. I even offered to meet him at his place of business to show him my hair and photos of this debacle but he refuses. Needless to say, I will be filing a case in small claims court. The arrogance of the owner Mike Boudreau is incomprehensible. If you plan on having your hair colored or even cut at Fantastic Sams, think again. It could be the beautician wasn't as knowledgeable as I was led to believe but the owner has no business treating customers as he did. His comeback was that I use box color. No kidding! Ever since I started coloring my own hair (many, many years) I have NEVER had this problem. Maybe I'M the best colorist!!! read more

I crawled into Fantastic Sams with hair down to the middle of my back that is thick thick thick and was a mess. I had a Skype interview and needed to transform my my crazy hair into something more sleek and professional. Taylor-Marie was great. I showed her a few photos of what I was looking for and she cut my hair... she confirm the length before she cut so she didn't cut too short. She blew my hair out which she mentioned is her favorite thing which just amazes me. My hair came out great! Just what I needed to look the way I needed to for the interview. The price was terrific... or should I say Fantastic... I was really happy. I would go back but I am moving away/ I wanted to write this so others could go and take advantage of the awesome service that I received. Recently moved to the suburbs after years of living in Boston. I was wondering, if I should continue making that ridiculous commute and pay that ridiculous price in order to get my hair done on Newbury street? Well, not anymore.... I found Fantastic Sam's in Danvers, What a gem! Who would of thought a small town salon tucked away in Danvers Square, would have such a knowlegable and talented group of stylists?! I was impressed by their color line they use, it's TIGI. They also do beautiful eyebrow waxing and shaping,color corrections (which I was in desperate need of) and extensions. I was most impressed with my haircut and they way it was styled after, just beautiful and the way I like to wear it. I was there a few weeks ago and there was a bride sitting in the chair next to me getting the most exquisite up-do. Overall, this a great place! It's not fancy(nobody is going to bring you a glass of wine) but it's friendly,clean and bright. read more
