I just have to say, fast hair places like Fantastic Sams usually have a bad reputation or are seen as "not good enough" but let me tell you, this location shatters that preconceived notion. I've not had a bad experience here and everyone is so nice, professional, not at all pushy, and just all around wonderful. In particular I need to give a shout out to Sam. I randomly picked her months ago from a lineup of stylists in the scheduling app and am SO GLAD fate (or the booking algorithm, whatever) brought us together. I've had three hair cuts from her, all wonderful! Her blowouts are bougie salon quality and she's just a super nice human. I went in today because I broke my ankle a few days ago and haven't been able to safely wash my hair and just needed a shampoo and blow out and she went above and beyond. She massaged my head for longer knowing I probably needed some comfort (she wasn't wrong) and then, she heard me say my surgery is tomorrow, so instead of only blowing out my hair, she threw em into two braids to make it easier to deal with during and post surgery. WHAT?! She didn't have to go above and beyond and she just did it because she's a great person. As long as I live here, I'll be only going to Sam for all my hair needs. Working away from home has its challenges and finding a place to cut your hair is one of them. While making a drop off to UPS I noticed the salon next door. They weren't busy so I popped in and hoped for the best. Lisa greeted me and got started by asking me what I needed. Not being fussy about my hair I gave her some guidelines but let her do her thing, she's the professional. She did not disappoint. My hair looks great and am very happy with my cut. Sam did a fantastic job on my hair. I had an appointment set up a few days prior and only had to wait a few minutes for her to finish up with her last client. The place was doing an excellent job at keeping everyone clean and safe down to sanitizing everything and sweeping. I went in asking for a full color hair dye and cut. Sam was super sweet throughout the process and did an absolute fantastic job with my thick hair. There's only one part that it didn't go through but it's more because of my stubborn hair not getting rid of my previous dye. Will recommend going there again absolutely amazing. read more

I can't say enough about Sam, she is amazing!!!! She has been at this location for 16 years. She has been cutting mine for at least 10 of those. I honestly drive over an hour to still have her cut my hair. We moved away and I tried to find someone else and I was always dissatisfied with the cut others gave me. I knew it was worth my time to drive to have her cut my hair. She REALLY listens to what you are wanting and will offer suggestions when asked. I always trust her with my hair. I even had her do my hair for my wedding two years ago. I have never once been disappointed in the service she gives me. She is kind, caring and knows what she is doing!!! If you are looking for a new stylist I highly highly recommend going to see her. She only works Wednesday, and then Friday-Sunday. Get in while you can! She knows her hair!!!!! read more

I went into Fantastic Sams after realizing that having hair much past my shoulders is not acceptable at my new job. A friend of mine recommended Fantastic Sams, swearing by it so much that she even offered me a ride and came in with me. At the time i had long hair for many years and was terrified about cutting it. I did not even know what to tell the lady other than I need short "professional" hair for work. Thankfully Julie had a plan! Not only was she understanding of the fact that I did not actually want to shorten my hair or know how to order it, but also, in the end I was actually pretty stoked about the fact that it turned out pretty good! I told her, please just do whatever you recommend....before i change my mind...and with no hesitation she said "ok I know what to do". She was really friendly and talkative, made it almost painless losing my trademark Rod stewart-esque (minus the perm) blonde hair! Was also pretty quick to get it done and I have recieved a lot of compliments since then. THANKS JULIE!!! will be back soon to get it re cut (i guess that's just how short hair life goes). This Fantastic Sam's needs a wake up call! My 91 year old mother has been using the same stylist, Susan for years and loves her. So when Susan changed from the Arvada store to north Wadsworth Pkwy, we naturally followed her. However, the nearest ramp is at the very end of the strip center, over twelve parking spaces away. There is a handicap parking space directly in front of this storefront, however they have recently reconfigured it so that there is no ramp...and on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 that entire parking space was completely covered in several inches of pure ice. If property management is so lax and does not perform routine snow removal, one would think the owners of that Fantastic Sam's location would have the common sense to get out their snow shovel and salt to insure elderly patrons can safely access the business. read more

There are a few times when I've ever had a wash and style. Although the price was right, I was very disappointed in the quality here. My hair was pulled the entire time, I have split ends everywhere now from the harsh treatment. Again, all I asked for was a wash and style...especially since I have wavy hair and asked for it to be diffused and not entirely dry there was absolutely no need for this treatment. He's lucky I was in a good mood because he would not have gotten a tip. Still not sure why I gave one other than it's expected...horrible. read more

I love this salon! I've been coming here for a few years now and I leave happy every time. I usually see Mechelle but have seen a couple other stylists as well and again they are all great and extremely professional. I try to go in every 2 months for a cut and maybe twice a year I change things up and color my hair or get highlights. They are awesome and you can't beat the price! read more

That was the worst haircut I have ever had. I came in for a simple trim and bang cut. The guy made me stand for part of my haircut because I have long hair. He took electric clippers to my hair. (Another first ). He messed up my bags to the point it'll take a while to fix them. I asked below my eyebrows and they are now well above. I felt ridiculous asking so many questions but was legit confused by so many things he did. read more

I USED to love coming here and they USED to give me exactly what I wanted. But the last 2 times I have gone it's been awful. Last time I went to dye my hair blonde showed a picture of what I was wanting and it TURNED out like something I NEVER would have wanted even after I said oh I think it's too light, the stylist said oh no I think it needs to be lighter. I went to another salon to have it changed just days later. Today I went for a simple bang trim and again had a picture of what I wanted and it turned out horrible and the stylist cut them WAYYY too short to the point where I don't want anybody to see.... and this time I can't go somewhere else to fix it because like I said they are just way too short already... it's just a waiting game for them to grow out now. Went in for my first cut after moving to a brand new state. Told the guy countless times and EVEN SHOWED HIM A PICTURE OF WHAT I WANTED. An hour later...I walk out furious because my hair looks nothing like how I wanted it. I went home, got out my own clippers, and did my hair the way it should've been done and much better. I went on a Sunday morning, they got me right in. However, I will not be returning to this location ever again! The guy who did my hair complained almost the entire time about his co-worker not showing up to work and how it is hard to keep staff at their location. I totally get it! I'm in management myself, being short staffed is the story of my life. However, how unprofessional to just keep ranting and raving about it to a customer. I would have been able to over look his complaining if I was happy with my cut. I didn't realize how screwed up it was till I got home. First off he said he gave me "layers" ( which I never asked for!!) but it appeared to me that he was scissor crazy! It looked more like he made a mistake while cutting too much off and tried to fix by adding "layers". Also I want to add that I felt like he was very rough with my hair, a lot of pulling and getting whipped in the face with wet hair. I hate my haircut and can't wait for it to grow out!!! read more

In October 2016, I went in this Fantastic Sam's for cut and color. The haircut I got was horrible. I returned to get it fixed, I got charged for the fix. I went back again to get it fixed again, low and behold got charged again. I called that store to find out their policy on fixing haircuts and the manager told me she could not tell me what that policy was. I called another Fantastic Sam's and asked about their policy on a bad haircut and she was more than happy to tell me.No charge for recut if within ,7 days. It is going to take me 2 1\2'- 3 years to grow out this horrible haircut. Not only that, it takes me 20min longer to style my hair to make it look halfway decent. Worst experience of my haircut life. I had the male stylist so avoid him at all COST. Came here because my kiddo comes here and usually likes it especially the shampoo and head massage. I had a much different experience however. I wasn't offered the shampoo and that wasn't a huge issue but becomes part of the review with the other factors. The stylist burnt my scalp. He had the hair dryer on full heat directly on my scalp for what seemed like forever since I was trying to deal with the pain until I couldn't handle it anymore and pulled away and said "Owe you are burning me". Didn't even get an apology after saying that as he finally started cutting my hair. Mind you since I didn't have a shampoo he had just wetted my hair and was doing this. Absurd is the only term that comes to mind. Finally the haircut was over with my scalp feeling on fire and in serious pain. I went to my doctor the next day to make sure I didn't have any major issues going on because it was bothering me so bad. It didn't thankfully but the experience was traumatizing. Then to top it off he didn't discount it or apologize and acted like I owed it to him and I should feel lucky to be a customer. Sounds like the other stylist are fine but AVOID THE MALE ONE AT ALL COST!! If there are other male stylist there I apologise but I don't want anyone to go through what I did. read more

I have gone here for a very long time now and am extremely disappointed. The guy wasn't going to do my hair for me in the way that I wanted and argued with me. I should've left then. But then he decided he would do what I was wanting but then chose my color for me and made my hair bright red instead of brown with highlights going horizontally! He complained the whole time about people and I found him to be rather rude. I spent two and a half hours in the chair to only walk out of there looking like I had twizzlers in my hair. Not only that but he didn't cut my hair the way I wanted and added layers when I didn't ask for them. I now have a chunk of short hair on the right front side of my head. This left me in tears and ended up using box dye to temporarily fix it. Now I am looking to get this fixed and it is outrageously expensive since he RUINED my hair. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. This location needs some serious management help and education in hair styling. If I could give zero stars on this I would. It is two months later and am still furious. read more

Fantastic SAMs is the best, if you go ask for Julie she is the most talented stylist I have ever been too. She made me look like a majestic stallion, with my mane blowing in the wind.
