Of you come here after reading this and have a problem, you only have yourself to blame. First let me say I will back up every claim In this review from text messages to before and after photos that I am uploading. I have NATURALLY Red (light strawberry/copper) hair. I color it myself to cover gray. I was going to Vegas and decided a professional touch would be nice and perhaps a new direction. After all, I don't need to reinvent the wheel. I already have the color on my head I want lol I walked in on a Friday night after a strong recommendation. I brought in my brand new 400.00 extentions that match my hair exactly. They have 3-4 different reds in it and it's super forgiving. I explained to Linda who tells me she has had her own salons... that I didn't need to reinvent the wheel. Just looking to refresh what I have and showed her my hair extensions which I had with me. Linda said it was going to be super easy and "no big deal" Linda was nice. She completed my hair and when she blew dried my hair it was completely and utterly different than my original hair or extensions. My hair was what I call a wine color. My friend said it was Ronald McDonald. Linda very clearly could not hide her facial expressions and knew it was awful. She asked what I thought. I tried to stay calm and said I realize red fades quickly but there's no way this will work with the extentions and my trip is in a few days. Linda gave me her caRd and assured me she would be available if I feel that way the next day. The next day I woke up and immediately text her. I was extremely nice, far more than anyone would have been. After waiting all day for a response she responded with one line that she can throw some blond highlights in there. That was it. One line. So her solution with my horrible wine meets Ronald McDonald is to throw blond streaks In there? Wtf?! I commented my concerns of that strategy and she would not respond again regardless of how nice I actually was. From that point forward I made three calls with messages to Christi the owner who I was told would not be in until Monday and she was opening the store Monday morning. I left my number on the voice mail just before opening Monday and with two other employees over the weekend and Monday morning . Christi never called. I once again called her and she claimed to have the wrong number with 3 + messages left. She seemed truthful but explains the growing trend of total incompetence here. I sent her pics of my hair before and after, my text messages with Linda as well. I explained I leave out of town Friday and today is already late Monday. I offered to come in that night or the following. She responded back with her hours (it was late afternoon Monday) that she only works Monday-Thursday from 9-2 or 9-5.... Friday 4-8 and no weekends - hours most people also hold jobs. I never heard from her again. Very clearly she wasn't concerned about making things right or fixing what was so obviously major incompetence by her staff. There was no offer to work other hours and To add insult to injury apparently I need to take off my work and lose more money in order to get this fixed. She also never offered any refund either - I'm convinced they knew how bad it was and knew they couldn't fix it in just one visit or easily. Worst experience with any hair stylist or business ever. Mistakes happen. I tried to be very nice and calm. They didn't care at all and To the owner I say this, if you continue to run things this way, you will go out of business. When you want to blame a shitty staff or the economy remember me. You will go under because you are a shit business owner and in business you're only going to attract what you are and only as good as the people you have on staff. You had a basic beginner level task and failed epically. Well done - everyone in there needs to go back to school or come to grips with what they are good at and in this case definitely not good at and change professions. I've been getting so many compliments since my appointment this morning with you that I thought I should stop taking all the credit and pass on some appreciation to the person who's actually responsible for my new look - Aubree! My hair looks and feels fantastic, and I'm so grateful to be in your capable hands. Your advice, as always, was perfect. I always have a hard time taking care of my hair. I don't deep condition, I don't use heat protector like I should. I don't do all the things you should to take care and maintain my own hair. Insert Aubree, she always makes sure I look my best when I leave the salon. Wether it's recommending we deep condition this visit, helping to suggest a color or highlights that work with my complexion, trimming, etc. I've never had a bad experience at Fantastic Sams in Gilbert. I got my hair done by Ryan, I believe. Handsome young man with beautiful gold locks! Anyways- I got my hair blow dried and styled for a wedding and I loved it! I have very curly hair and was growing out a wolf cut from a previous stylist who sent me back to the 80's. This man trimmed my hair to perfection and my style kept up for 3 days. Definitely could've gone longer- but I have curly hair and it's all I know lol Thankyou for making me feel beautiful. read more

The woman who gave my son a haircut was nice, but kept saying he was so ticklish that she 'nicked' him because he kept moving. Um, he's four, so yeah. That's fine, at least she told me. I've been going to Fantastic Sams for 5 years now--every 4-6 weeks so that's a LOT of hair cuts. In all those years I've only had 2 bad haircuts. I've had most of the stylists there, but my favorite may be Kinsey. She is one of the managers and very meticulous! I speak for a living so a great haircut (at a fair price) is very important to me. I highly recommend Fantastic Sams. Just be sure you get someone experienced like Kinsey or Shea (the other reviewer recommended her as well. I've had Shea cut my hair and she did a great job). read more

I went in on a Thursday at about 2pm and it was busier than I thought it would be. I waited for about 5 minutes and was taken in to the chair. The stylist asked what I wanted, eyeballed my hair, and gave me a wash and condition. She took all of about 8 minutes to cut my hair perfectly and exactly how I wanted it. Quick, easy, and inexpensive. What more could you ask for? If you want something simple and quick, this is definitely the place to go to. read more

The Stylist was nice and friendly. We talked about the color for my root touch up. After applying the color, a 30 minute process time for me. My stylist was on her cell phone the entire time. She could have spent that time giving me a brow wax with dry requested. Haircut was just ok. The stylists really need to be updated on their techniques. Straight line cutting with no texturizing? Electric razor for trimming the back...yikes! So now I have a big thick clump of hair on my left side layer. All of a sudden my stylist got in a big hurry and I realized she had a customer waiting. No blow dry with a color and cut...really?? So I paid my bill without even mentioning the eyebrow wax. You get what you pay for! read more

Went to get mine and my husbands hair cut at the Higley and Pecos location and they were busy. Decided to go to this location. The stylist my husband had was Andi or Andrea and did a great job on his hair. My stylist was Linda(I should have waited for someone else since every time one of my girls gets are haircut she does not listen to us). I told her how much I wanted cut off and she did an inch longer and she did more off the back. I told her again I did not want that much cut off but yet she continued to cut more. What happened to you listen to your customers? Then she proceeds to style it, again I said I do not want my hair styled. I want to wash it and just comb it and go. I am really tired of this lady doing what she wants and not listening to me. This time if I go to Fantastic Sams it will not be this location. I will wait rather then go to this location. The service is poor. I have been told on two separate occassions there not going to do any colors that day. I kid you not on the first occasion they had two employees and NOONE else was there. They had zero customers and they said they didn't have time.Today I tried to go back to give them another try. The exact same lady told me there not going to do colors that day as well. I tried this place out because someone recommended a different location that I was far from. It began with one of the woman taking my information since I had never been there. Then she looked up at me and asked me if I was a "female". I was so caught off guard that I didn't realize how rude, disrespectful, and illegal it was for her to ask that. I even had to repeat my answer after she said really? Then since they were closing soon she took me. AS she was cutting my hair she said "these kinds of haircuts are not my favorite." I asked for a simple fade and trim. Which she should have said BEFORE I sat down. Then she complained about "the product in my hair." Saying "this is like a lot of product what do you use?" I replied, coconut oil. I do have ethnic hair which since she was clearly not from this country, she did not understand. After borrowing a comb from someone she told me it was perfect after cutting two bald spots in my head and giving me the worst haircut I've ever had. I'm a veteran so you can't beat the 50% discount but I will NEVER return here. I still cannot believe how rude and unprofessional she was. I waited two weeks to see if my hair would look "better". So I was in last night, about 6pm to get my eyebrows done, the place was empty and the staff was all rather friendly. As more people came in they all seemed to know each other (in a business sense) and that was great. My shape of my brows came out well and I'm not upset about that... however. When I take time out of my 70 hour work life to do something for myself and I come back with eyebrows worse than I started due to SKIN MISSING from my brow bones. I'm not sure how this happens. It's not my profession. I just know this has never happened before. And for that I will be going somewhere new. read more

Place sux! Brought my two kids in off a coupon for a hair cut. My youngest had hair all over his face and neck, had to send him back to the barber to get cleaned up. The customer being rung out before me asked for the coupon price, however she didn't even have a coupon. I Brought in the coupon and was only allowed to use one and paid full price for the other. Double standard. Not a friendly environment. Wont be back. The coupon packet is designed to build business, I bet the owner doesn't know that the employees are destroying it. read more

This is the worst place to get your haircut. I asked for a haircut to blend into my longer hair in the front and kinda took it upon herself to cut all my hair 2 inches long. And then she tried to convince me that's what I wanted enev though the pictures I showed her were a totally different haircut. After she saw the pictures she told me it looked cut on me and "once it grows out you can cut it anyway you want." That is not what I asked for. And I would tell you never get your haircut by Linda. I have been going to this Fantastic Sam's location for about a year. i am very picky about my hair, and grew up with a barber in the family!!! I was pleased to find a stylist, Kinsey, that took her time listened to how I like my hair, and did what I asked, after all it is my hair and I know how it behaves..... Kinsey is also great with color, I have had her apply color and highlights to my hair a cpl of times , and being a brunette I expressed how I did not want my hair to come out orange... I have been more than happy every time Kinsey has styled and colored my hair. She does and excellent job and she knows hair!! I was so disappointed when i called to make an appt with Kinsey, only to find out that Kinsey, Emily and Jeanine have left his location and started there own salon. I asked the staff at Fantastic Sams if they left any forwarding information, and they said they were not able to give such information out. i know that this competes with business, but it is hard to find good, talented hairdressers. My husband and I come here frequently because you get a pretty good haircut for cheap but what drives me nuts about this place is that 100% of the time we set up appointments when they open each morning the day of the services and every time we wait AT LEAST 20-30 minutes each time. I've been going to the Warner Road location for a year. The stylist are wonderful and service is great. However, I must say, my ROCKSTAR here is Christine!! As the Manager of this location she truly provides the best customer service/satisfaction you could ask for. Understanding the needs of the client and truly giving me the high end salon feel and care. Yes, for a quick and simple hair cut, honestly everyone is wonderful but when needing to have the real personal and that "I only want my stylist" feel, for me it is definitely Christine :) I went in there today desperately needing my highlights "gone wrong" fixed, the time and effort to make sure I walk away happy and satisfied she spent (always with a smile and positive attitude), I'm beyond grateful for! She didn't even fade the top of my head to the sides and left the lines all uneven and the top uneven too. This isn't the first cut I have been terribly upset by. Came out ok but not totally I love with it..... Then she had to dye my hair twice because first time it didn't come out right. I do not remember the name of the woman that cut my sons hair but if I remember correctly she had curly blond hair. Long story short she did a terrible job at cutting his hair. I'm a guy who works in the construction industry. I had to tell everybody about this very cool lady at this "clip joint" at Lindsay Rd & Warner Rd. Jennifer gave me exceptional service for a Sunday to boot. She really took the time and deserves to be recognized for her talent. Not only did she make me feel comfortable with a positive vibe but the cut and shampoo was outstanding and I have never been asked if I wanted my eyebrows trimmed. That was a surprise and she made me look clean by the time I walked out the door. I'm 56 and believe me I probably needed it. There are no restrooms but there is a Target next door. There are fast food on the same corner. I will be back in December. The haircut was $17 and I left a $10 tip. Thank you Jenny for making my day ! read more

Here's something weird if you want to stick to a suburban mom living in Gilbert stereotype- I can't justify spending more than $15 on a haircut. I've certainly gone that route, and you know what? $40 or $15, there is NO difference at all! To be fair, I do one cut, and then grow my hair out to donate to Locks Of Love, so I don't have a lot of upkeep on my 'do. Regardless, I still can't do it. I know a lot of people are weird about who touches their hair. They have a relationship with their stylist or whatever. Well, you can build a relationship and spend less here too. The whole family has been coming to this location for years, and the staff is always friendly, and they've always understood exactly what my children have wanted done with their hair. None of us have ever complained, and they take competitors coupons. Weekends tend to be busier, but if that's the case then you can become the stereotype and get yourself a Starbucks while you're waiting. ;-) read more
