I kinda just picked a place on Yelp for a last minute cut, full balayage and root touch up grays. The first appt on a Monday morning at 10a was cancelled last minute (literally as I was in the car) and then the second appt was available the next day on Tuesday with another stylist, Amanda, and it worked out. Love my hair, color and I look much younger than when I walked in. Amanda is thoughtful, efficient and skilled (she's a mom of 3 kids so makes sense!). I appreciated her recs and taste. I used to go here often when I lived closeby and unfortunately had to find another salon. I had two salons completely mess up my hair; the last one resulting in bleaching too fast and I unintentionally got baby bangs from this incident- then they told me they would not do a perm on me from the damage THEY caused. I knew if there was a salon who could help me, it would be this one. So I called them up and set an appointment for a consultation for the perm I was trying to achieve for so long. I went in for my perm, but the curls did not hold well due to the heaviness of my hair. I called the salon on day 2 and they were more than happy to redo the perm and put layers, and I was left leaving the salon with my dream hair and not even a hint of damage left from it! This is the ONLY salon I will ever trust to touch my hair now - color wise, perm, haircut, anything. I'll attach photos of the beautiful perm I left with, how the curls are still mighty strong as of today, and the beautiful blue hair I got done here a few years back when I did live closeby. I cannot ever recommend this salon enough, the environment is so relaxing and you can tell the hairdressers truly care about helping you achieve your goals. read more

Overall will not return. Prices are high and service is not friendly. I asked my stylist for a butterfly cut to which she scoffed and said it's just another name for long layers which ok, fine but was just an odd reaction? I also asked her not to cut too short b/c my wedding was in 4 months. She didn't listen and I silently prayed it would grow back in time. Surprise surprise, my wedding is next week and I've lost the length I wanted. When I went to pay, I got charged for an extra bowl for toner and was told an initial price over the phone and ended up pay way more than I was expecting and wasn't told till the end. How would I know if they needed an extra bowl or not and why did you mention it when I went to pay? I'll give them the benefit of doubt but it felt off. I also emphasized how the last time I got toner, it immediately washed out after a week and how I really needed something that would last. Same thing happened here. Within 2 weeks, my color was gone. Now this may not be the stylists fault but between charging me more than I expected, and not maintaining results, it left a bitter taste. I'd be willing to look past the toner but overall I just didn't like the vibe here. read more

You can tell his level of experience by the way he approaches your requests. My advice? Don't go in asking for what you think will look good on you. Instead, ask him for suggestions based on what you're hoping to achieve with your haircut. He might just be a hair psychic, because when it comes to color, all you have to do is tell him what you don't like, and he'll magically mix exactly what you need. Today was my first appointment at Joncen Phi Salon. It's always awkward going to a new salon and having to build trust with that salon. I need to say that my experience was excellent!!! This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any service based industry. First, be aware of the scam they run, they mix tiny bowls of color and charge more as they mix additional. Their online estimation of cost doesn't even come close to what they charge because they purposely mix small bowls and charge for each one. Adam does not listen and does not care. He didn't do the color my wife asked for and he didn't give her the cut she asked for. She heard him speaking with another stylist openly admitting that he did what he thought i should have, not what I wanted. They were incredibly rude when i was clear that I was very disappointed with everything about the service and offered to cover the cost of the additional dye bowls, which i would not have needed anywhere else. There are a lot of salons out there and this is one to be avoided. read more

I have gone to Joncen Phi Salon three times now since 2023 and loved my first 2 experiences. I received my first two with Jane and couldn't have been happier with the results. I decided that I wanted to get a haircut while on break, but unfortunately am dissatisfied with the results. I had originally wanted Jane again as she cut my hair last time but she didn't have any availability for when I wanted one so I decided to go with any master stylist. The booking website gave me Andrea. I received 2 calls around 8am on the day of my appointment and they basically let me know that Andrea has Covid but will be able to do my hair the next day? I obviously opted out of that choice and settled for a different stylist once again. The lady on the phone told me my haircut would now be with Madeline. Already, if you couldn't tell, I was feeling a bit unsure about everything with the canceling and rescheduling but decided to move forward with it nonetheless. Showed up for my appointment, checked in, sat down with her and told her what I wanted as well as showing her reference pictures (provided below). I wanted very LIGHT AND SOFT layers and face framing. She even said herself "okay so like a very blended look" and I said yes exactly. Everything seemed to be going fine. We do the wash and I did get some hydration treatment. She's cutting my hair and I notice that it's a lot shorter than what I had expected, but I cant go back once she makes the cut so I trust the process. Finally it's over, and she shows me the back... because of anxiety or fear of confrontation I didn't say anything. Just smiled and told her it was perfect. This was on me 100% as I should've just voiced how I truly felt but again, it's already cut what can u do about it ‍ The cut is pretty choppy and not blended as we agreed on... My face framing bangs are also pretty choppy... So saddened to say that I will not be back :( This was definitely a lesson to do your research and find the stylists INSTAGRAM before booking!!! read more

Went to get more blonde added to my hair and the what looked like one day out of beauty school stylist completely messed up my hair and I lost ALL my blonde. The stylist insisted it was completely doable before the start of the appt. They make you sign an agreement beforehand so you are screwed and have no recourse when they do a TERRIBLE job. read more
