I was referred to Augusta Ranch Hair Studio by a fellow cyclist friend . When I arrived I was warmly greeted by the front desk. The owner was sitting at the front desk and asked me if I would like coffee or water. I was early to my appointment but Sarah (the lady my friend recommended) and she was able to take me a few min early which was nice. I had just taken out some Cinderella hair extensions and was feeling like it was time for a change! New job, I'm 40, new hair! Lol! I showed her a few pictures and she went way over above and beyond. I love my new hair! She also recommended a product to help with the dryness and its great and inexpensive. I was balling with a budget this time and you would never know it!! I've gone here a couple times the first two times great service loved the hair stylist they did my hair for a photo shoot I was doing it was amazing and I've gotten my bangs done here same stylist amazing she no longer works here sadly about 6 months ago I went to get my hair done and felt I was not listened to and like the stylist was pushing an agenda for her instagram page really pushing I get a bob or pixie cut not what I wanted and evened up cutting my hair shorter than I asked , thinking it was a one time fluk misunderstanding I went back again for a hair cut different stylist when I was booking online and it asked for date and time I put Friday it said one opening 4:15pm I selected that went on when I showed up no one was there so I called left a message that I was here no one was here waited 30 mins got a cb Saturday saying I could come in at 4:15 give a call back I noticed a charge and left a voicemail a woman called me back said she didn't even listen to the voicemail what was wrong I explained she said that I booked on Saturday I have no email about my appointment or text so I can't go back in look possible I was mistaken but was very obviously from the voice message I left and everything I was not aware if it was booked on Saturday the website was very miss leading I put in for Friday on the date and time slot option because Friday was my day off I work Saturdays it said one appointment available 4:15 page I selected it possible maybe no appointments for Friday show it showed me the availability of the next day idk and all the lady could say was "on the website if you don't show you get charged 50% you booked Saturday had no empathy didn't really care just repeated the same phrase over n over again. I own a business could never imagine treating my customers like this things happen I charge a deposit as well but if there's an obvious miss understanding or possible mistake I just idk I find it very off putting read more

Wish had same experience everyone else in reviews. This is the second time I've not been listened to, and not gotten what I wanted. Simple enough told her I wanted really blonde mini partial highlight just on the crown to hide grays, a little chunky but came out more sandy brown than blonde and took all my bright blonde out with brown toner!? I hate stripes on side of my head is why I ask for the top crown only. But she added to the sides cause she said she wanted to..now I have uneven stripes Ugh! Besides all that the overall color on top looks good..just not what I wanted and she offered me options to make things better. I just did not want to overdo my hair so will wait till next highlight to fix, and I feel awful not paying when she did work on my hair. Well I was overcharged and paid $100 for a mini partial highlight on just the crown of my head. I had my haircut on Saturday afternoon with Ashley, asked for a trim and light layers. Apparently I wasn't heard because my hair was half way down my back and now it's above my shoulders, I asked for light layers and got layers to the point I can't put my hair up for work the whole front half of my hair falls out of a pony tail. I asked to have beach curls and showed a picture and ended up with curlers in my hair making it puffy with two small curls in the front instead of having actual curls around my whole head. I was in search for a good stylist because I had poor experience with one this last year. My hair was over processed and the cut was terrible and uneven and not very flattering. I looked at reviews and I came across Augusta Ranch Hair Salon in Mesa Arizona. I came in for a cut and highlight and saw a stylist name Sarah Dees. OMG is all I can say !!! For years I have not had a good stylist since my favorite stylist died about 10 years ago. Sarah did a phenomenal job with my hair ... I couldn't be happier. I only come to Phoenix about four times a year but I'm going to only get my hair done when I come to Phoenix and have Sarah do my hair! Fantastic. She listened. I was so worried about my hair getting fried so she added Olaplex in the lightener so that that would not happen. She also recommended two Olaplex products for me to use to maintain my hair in between colorings. Love it! read more

I went to ARHS for the first time yesterday. Let me start by saying I'm always nervous for my first visit with a new to me hair stylist. We've all had that bad cut. However I have to say Carrie did an amazing job!! I love my hair cut! I have naturally curly hair and she did the cut while my hair was dry which is supposed to be how curly hair is cut. She shaped it perfectly and left my length like I asked. Once the cut was completed she did my root touch up. My hair looks fantastic! The way my hair was cut encouraged my curls to show themselves. My hair appears shorter than it is. Once I left the salon - my hair kept getting shorter as it dries due to CURLS gone wild! I'm a happy younger looking curly girl! Definitely plan to return! Totally Awesome Experience! I had been hospitalized for 5 weeks and my hair was matted and oily. I was also in a wheelchair since I had no muscle dexterity. My wife also had just had her hair done here 4 days before. We had just bought a house in the area and she found them nearby. Her hair looks awesome by the way and coincidentally the owner had been her stylist and my wife was thrilled with her cut!!! My stylist wasn't even bothered by my gross hair, she just got to work washing and drying it first, then cutting it to a 2 on the sides and a 3 on top because I like it short. Sarah is very personable and upbeat. She put me at ease instantly and I had a sense of trust with her cutting my hair. However, it only took her 20 minutes to wash and cut my hair. It felt very rushed. Also, I used my finger to show where I'd like my hair to hit (it was 3-4 inches shorter). I also said that I had my hair cut to my shoulders once and HATED it. When I got into my car and really looked at the length... it was over 5" SHORTER than I had asked for and was just hitting my shoulder. I was hysterical and cried for over an hour! I been coming here for half a year. Since the first haircut Ive been wanting to leave a review for how great this Salon really is. I Don't a understand what these 1 star reviews are talking about?! They deserve more than five stars in my opinion!! Danielle "the front desk" always greets me, schedules my appointment, and gets me to my hairstylist in the most polite manner. I have Kimberly cut my hair, witch is always amazingly fast and Precise. She also knows the direction I want my haircut to be right away. I'm use to going to barbers so going to a salon was a different approach to me. They understand all regular barber terms like clipper size etc. She and others really know how use them clippers and give clean fades. Every time I come I feel like a family. I like the idea of having the same hairstylist each and every time. Unfortunately with some places, the stylist come and go so quickly they don't get to learn what you like and all. The Augusta Ranch Hair Studio is different, they cater to people and the staff has been then for a long time. Angie does my color and cuts! Which I love! She is friendly and very knowledgeable about products. Isn't pushy on selling you items you don't need either. Pam (owner) has done a straightening technique on my hair and also my daughters. She does a great job and it is SO much cheaper than a Brazilian. I do wish the prices were lower. I think a hair cut alone is $23.00 but knowing that you have the same stylist each visit does out weight the price. read more

So I desperately needed a lot of work done to my hair after moving to Arizona and with thick Italian curly hair finding a new stylist was something I was dreading from a lifetime of mostly negative hair care experiences! After carefully researching the salons in the areas, I decided on Augusta Ranch due to the raving reviews and location to my home. My hopes were not too high to be honest as I have had too many bad cuts and have gone to the same stylist for 10+ years due to fear of changing even though I wasn't very impressed with the results. I was absolutely blown away how professional and nice everyone was at the salon from my first call to being greeted when I arrived, until the very end after Pam so graciously made my hair look beautiful after 4.5 hours of hard work!!! Pam was wonderful and l brought pictures which she made my hair look far better than any celebrity photo I wanted it to look like! I absolutely love the cut, color, and style she did! More than a studio it's an experience. The whole staff is amazing. Peter G earns an extra star for his professionalism and his exceptional attention to style and detail and the work he puts into his craft. He does training and seminars for other stylists around the country. Top shelf stuff. I truly look forward to my appointments with him. My daughter had been wanting to go VERY light. She is naturally a blonde but wanted the new whiter look. She consulted with Pam, the salon owner, and showed her some pictures of the balayge she was after. They agreed on a time and price and made an appointment. My daughters hair is very hard to lift even though it is light. Pam was patient and spent the 4 hours needed to paint and tone my daughters hair to a gorgeous blend of whites and creams. I called ahead and made a 3:30 appointment for a haircut so I wouldn't have to wait. I arrived on time and told the receptionist that I had an appointment with Kelli. Rather than tell Kelli I was there waiting, this arrogant woman ignored me and continued to talk on the phone for maybe 10 minutes before I got angry and left. I am an extremely nervous person about haircuts. I'd been getting my haircut back in my home state when I flew but but it was getting a bit ridiculous to do that. Before I made my appointment, I called and asked reception about who they would recommend. They were very friendly and recommend a few different stylists. I hate to write this review because I like the stylist's that work at Augusta Ranch Hair Studio, they are all very nice,... but I have to do it so that others don't experience what I did. Highlights are not easy and not all stylists can do it.... My original hair stylist moved back east to get married after doing my highlights and lowlights for over 10 years. So I walked into ARHS and asked who was a great colorist to take care of my new roots and growth. I'm a dark hair Italian and have been a vibrant blond with high and lowlights since I was 17 (35 years), so I know my color. I was put with one girl who turned me into a bright redhead, then another stylist tried to fix it and took out all my highlights. She managed to put them back in but it took two attempts. I came back hoping she had figured out the right process for my roots, but I came out with two inch, dark brown roots with little to no highlights anywhere. It was bad. This time the owner said she would fix it (each time spending 3 hours in the chair), but it was very disappointing. Of the three people she did the best, but my vibrant, blond highlights were reduced to a mousy, dark blond that almost looked ashy-gray, and I still have the original roots. I was told not to worry and that when I washed my hair, my vibrant, pretty blonde highlights would come through....No such luck. I called and was told that I would receive a call to schedule me a time to come in and try one last time to put in my highlights, but so far I haven't been called....I miss my blonde, vibrant color and can't seem to find anyone that really knows bleaching, color and toning. Now I have to pay again to have someone fix my hair. Trust when I say I wanted nothing more than to find a great colorist who could take Maddy's place. If anyone knows a great colorist, please send me a note. The women who work at ARHS are all very nice and I'm sure have lots of clients who love their work, but as far as highlights go, it just didn't work out for me. read more
