My husband and I just love the staff at this Fantastic Sam's So warm, friendly and caring. Scott has been cutting our hair for a few years now. My husband is very particular about his hair and Scott is the only one that he will go to now. Scott is also fabulous with color. When did haircut joints become specialty shops? Nowadays we have salons with cuts from women in bikinis, salons that are more like sports bars, spas with posh stylists, shops that just cut kids hair and places that only cut redheads on Tuesdays. Okay, so that last one may not be true, but the specialization of haircuts is killing me. Know what? Sometimes I just need a quick trim. And every time I procrastinate before a big day when I have to look clean cut (picture day, interview day, Arbor Day) and don't get an appointment with my normal cutter, I pop in to Sammy's here and they give me a quick trim. I'm in and out of the chair in less than 10 mins for less than 15 bucks (pre-tip). I do feel guilty for cheating on my normal place, but when Jeffrey gotta shine (TV days, Flag Day), Jeffrey gotta shine. No fuss, just a quick trim and I'm out the door. read more

I went here for highlights, cut, and a style. Sara was my stylist and she did a phenomenal job. I love my hair and can't believe the quality I received for the price I paid. I would highly recommend Sara for highlights as she said it is her specialty. I came in with some neglected hair and left looking glamorous! Went in for a simple bob. She left it choppy and did who knows what to the ends. Only cut half the bangs and left them way uneven. Was charged $25 for a kids cut and style and had to go elsewhere to have it fixed. read more

I have been here twice and I'm always happy. I go to the 20 something blonde with the side of her hair shaved. She's so nice and I think it's more then worth the $20 with tip for sure. I think I will keep coming from now on. A girl named Greta works there too and she does a great cut as well. I know ER from a different shop. I've been doing hair for almost 10 years so I know quality stylists when I meet them. These girls give just as good a cut as most of these $40 a pop places. I've been having color done here by Trish for the past several months and she does a great job and it's a great salon. Sometimes there is a short wait, but rarely longer than a few minutes. I just moved to the Salt Lake Valley and needed somewhere to cut my hair. I'm not real particular about my hair, but I enjoy a nice cut and I got one here. Last time at this place at Fourth Union, I went there this Saturday with my two daughter for a deep conditioner, the price on the board was $10 but this lady charged me $15 each without asked me if I want to updated the service when I asked why, she said it was because the product was better stuff. Anyway... I don't think what she did worth it the money and she should let me know before. Las time I took my son there for a child hair cut I have to take he to another salon place to fix his hair cut, I tried and I always going there with my kids but this time is my last time, I didn't really like the deep conditioner and I don't know why she overcharged me when I asked about the product she didn't showed me or said why the product is better. My 5 year old had his feelings hurt so bad he says Mommy I never want to go back to that place those ladies are not nice oh I felt so horrible that was the first time I've had even taken my my boys in to get a haircut that's bad . I walked in asking if they cut kids hair, there were 2 ladies there, they were not busy at all at 6pm on a Friday? I should of knowned once I seen that! I have my 15 month old needing his 1st hair cut, and my 5 year old needing a cut and shave, she said that the price would be $12 for each kid? I then asked her if she had any discounts for two she said no I asked her if she had any coupons she said no I asked her if there was any online coupons she said she didn't know and that she wouldn't be able to pull it up if there was on her screen. As I was looking on google for a coupon, they rushed to get my kids out, each lady took a child. I was trying to record my 1 year old while they were being very rude, and obviously had tons of anxiety both ladies on top of a bad attitude. They asked my son to sit on chair after he was finished for his haircut while his brother was finishing and every time he moved a muscle those two ladies were harassing him telling him don't spend Don't touch don't look at those chairs are expensive we can't have children playing on them hello you dumb girl a 5 year old can't hold still then they offered him a bouncy ball right they gave him a token after they were both done and said here's a bouncy ball thank you and guess what they were asked 3 times not to bounce the ball in the place while I was simply just trying to pay for my haircuts. The lady had such bad anxiety while she rushed us out of there she all of a sudden quote on quote had a coupon because she wouldn't didn't want me to wait any longer while looking on the internet for the coupons she out of nowhere had a coupon and said hey look I have a coupon $2 off I had a coupon for $5 off at the end I pee I asked her for a receipt she didn't even vouch the $2 coupon she only use my one $5 coupon when I could have used a coupon per kid, the coupon did say that that was a loud one coupon per haircut not per transaction. I even tipped them each $3 they didn't deserve that their attitudes are no good they're not children friendly at all. Very unprofessional never again. read more

I've been coming here over the past few years and its been hit or miss with some of the stylists, but I recently have found an angel in a smock and her name is Wendy. She has pride in her work and is always friendly. The only think I don't like is not being able to set up appointments. It makes it a little difficult to plan your day when you have a particular stylist that you want, but other than that, I find this location to be clean, efficient and satisfactory. read more

Not sure what I expected - it is Utah after all - the stylist (use the term loosely) that cut my hair was terrible (think she was high, or maybe just having a bad decade)... she didn't even finish and forgot about me and the camouflage (what they call men's hair coloring) she put in my hair - someone else washed it out but left me standing there wondering what I was supposed to do next. Oh, and they charged me $46 and didn't even finish. Go to ANY other Fantastic Sam's please stay away from this one... terrible terrible terrible. read more

Horrible service ever! Stylist are very rude and kept changing our wait time. Out of all the salons I've gone to this was the worst by far. Also the hair cuts weren't absolutely nothing like we wanted and keep in mind this was just a simple boys hair cut. I would not recommend coming here at all! read more
