The tech urged me to get it , stating I would be fine amongst other comments . I agreed. It took foreverrrrrrrrr, so at the end I was just ready to go home. Next day my nails starting breaking, the color wasn't even throughout, the shape was off. I asked for coffin. I had square on some fingers Coffin on others. I really like this Nail salon/spa! I'm thrilled to discover and only live 10 minutes away from it. Prices are very fair and reasonable, service and staff is beyond excellent, they pay attention to detail and take pride in giving the best esthetically appealing and quality service. Everyone is very friendly and sweet. I had a gel manicure (natural nails) and regular pedicure, $50 and I couldn't have been happier with the way they look! My manicurist Kim was awesome and I'll be sure to be a returning customer! They were helpful with helping me choose a color, handed me a magazine while I was getting a pedi. My only tiny complaint is that the calus reduction was not as comfortable as my previous salon and spa ambience music would have been better than radio music for relaxation purposes, but overall this salon is BOMB.com! I went with a friend to get pedicures in the afternoon on a weekday. They did an OK job. The facilities are clean and I was serviced fairly quickly. I only went here because the location was convenient and close to my home. I would have given them four stars but I received terrible service. Unfortunately, I had to listen to the technicians talk crap about me in Vietnamese. When I went quiet, they even said "Maybe she understands us. She just went quiet..." and then giggled. I didn't say anything and just ignored it. However, before I was even finished, the technician asked me "Can you pay me now?" Turns out she was rushing me because she needed to send a few texts on her phone. After my nails were dry, the other technician who was talking crap asked me if I was Vietnamese. The lady then had the nerve to ask me a question in Vietnamese to see if I understood her. When I answered her in English, the resulting look on her face was one of pure shock. If you're just looking for "fast food" style nail service, then this place would be your go-to. Shady business practices! Came in for a fill on a full set I had done somewhere else two weeks prior. I had two nails that needed repair. The tech insisted on replacing the full set because he said it would only be $5 more, making my total for the nails $25. He barely spoke english so I said fine whatever. Then he starts hard selling the gel polish. I had just had a pedicure done (which was average) and I told him I didn't think the gel was worth the $20 extra dollars. He said he would give me the gel polish for free since I was getting a new set. I still wanted the regular color because I wanted my toes to match my nails. He said he would find a gel for me and match it. I said fine because I was tired of arguing and it seemed like a good deal. Nail service is complete and he hits me with a $70 bill! I asked him what the charge was for and it was for the gel. I was furious. He sat there and then tried to say he never said he was throwing in the gel polish for free. I paid the money rather than standing there and arguing. No one got a tip and I will be sure to never return. Just awful! The place is also dirty looking. Since I had a crack in one of my nails, I asked if I could at least get the nails taken off & I was asked to come back tomorrow. As if I don't have a job or things to do. Moved to the area, need a new salon home! Decided to try this place due to all the good reviews, however, my experience was not the best. The pedicure was so dry, if that makes sense? My feet didn't get that emerged feeling with the products used very sparingly and my feet stayed dry the whole pedicure. My feet didn't have that clean feeling once finished, nicely painted but two toes chipped not even three hours of getting them done. My gel fill-in was a better experience, but, Jenny convinced me to get my gel under the polish and clear over my nail polish, an hour later a dent! I know they were dry because I sat under the dryer for 10 minutes... Nicely polish but my polish didn't last! Nice staff, clean and prices are reasonable, reason for two stars! Worst place in the Maryland to get your nails done. Save your money your time and you're mental. They Lack talent they are completely lazy and won't properly clean nails, cut or file. They only wish only to slap polish on and collect $100. They upsell you on everything and if you ask for any correction, they look at you crazy and before you know it, all of their colleagues are talking about you, as if your the burdend (y'all know what I'm talking about) . People work incredibly hard these days for their money and they're used to doing the bare minimum to take it. The vibe: these people are entitled lack talent, and compassion. The owners is trash and participates in the dysfunction. You can tell by her response to every complaint that she really doesn't GAF. I haven't been to this location since my last review but I got my foot on their neck and I won't let off! When the color didn't match, I asked the nail tech if she could just take off what she did and I would come back since I had already been waiting for some time and had to pick my mother up. This review is long overdue, but I had a horrible experience at this salon. One of those experiences that doesn't sit well with you and you never forget. I was treated very poorly by the Male nail technician. He seemed agitated/annoyed when he first began. He did not speak to me. The protective bag in the tub came off he continued to do the pedi. He didn't want to answer any of my questions. He rudely stormed off in the midst of my pedicure and another nail technician came and took his place. No one every apologized or addressed his unacceptable behavior. It made me feel really bad and for that reason I will NEVER again patronize this salon. I truly believe discrimination was a factor in the way I was treated. This could have been a learning moment for the technician and others, but instead management chose to disregard my feelings and sweep it under the rug. Today, I called, spoke to the woman who usually services me, and made an appointment with her. I arrived 15 minutes early, and watched her finish with her current client. She then gestured that she was ready for me. She got me settled into a pedicure chair to begin the foot soak. She began to prep my hands for polish removal. After 5-10 minutes, I was told that she couldn't do my nails because another client was coming in. Yes, that's right 'COMING in' - meaning, the client had yet to arrive. I was told to "go home.... Come back tomorrow". I waited for my nails to finish soaking. I asked where the other 'client" was, and told that "they're coming soon". I watched as my chair was refreshed for the expected client. I went for a basic manicure on Friday afternoon. My nails were not filed well by the manicurist. When she put the nail polish on I had to tell her to clean up the mess around my nail beds. When I got home, I noticed that the nail on my left hand was already cracked. This was not a good thing. As it turns out, I was in bed all weekend, however, my nail polish was gone on 7 of my fingers. There's something very wrong with either the nail polish that they are using or the manicurist. This is by far the worst place I've ever visited. I've been here 3 times. One for pedicure, and the other 3 times for acrylic or gels nails. I went here last night to get a SIMPLE acrylic removal and manicure. First, one of the technicians tried to lift the hardened acrylic off my nails and it tears off some of the nail. I told her that it hurt so she decided to soak it in acetone instead. Fine with me. It's soaking and another technician takes the bowl away and begins to file the remaining acrylic off. Without getting all of it off, she decides it's time to polish. Btw, she hasn't done anything but soak by hand in warm water and lime. No cuticle cutting, filing, ANYTHING. I told her that 3 nails still had acrylic on them. Annoyed, she soaks them again. This time all but a little is removed, so she files the rest off. She then begins polishing while there's still spots of my old green nail polish. I told her but she obviously too engrossed in her "work" to care. In the end, I was so upset that I just showed her what she did and told them I was coming back to fix it tomorrow. I showed up today and another lady who didn't even service me yesterday, had the nerve to tell me that my nails looked fine when she saw it last night, and I "should just do it myself since I'm hard to please." I moved to silver spring 2 years ago and tried 2 different nail salons before this one. Best one I've come across, at first it was just because they gave me a shoulder massage with my mani. 1 year ago I moved to DC and I am still traveling to silver spring (~40 mins) to this salon and I REGULARLY get my nails done. Before you call me crazy, I went to the salons near me. DISAPPOINTED EVERY TIME kicking myself for not coming here and sticking with what I know. I almost felt like I was having an affair. That's how strongly I feel about this place and how this is seriously THEE best nail salon in the DC area. I don't request a certain person because all of them do a decent job and I always leave happy and relieved that I don't have to fix anything myself or go weeks with a messed up manicure. I always go with shellac or gel mani and I get a regular pedi. They keep up with all the current colors and always help me decide what I should get next based on my last decision. The people make an effort to get to know you. So if you're looking for a salon, you found it. Come here. Look, this is your standard cheap nail salon. They have about 10 pedicure chairs (with massage built in), and a slew of tables for manicures and pedicures. It's your standard procedure - walk in, tell the person at the desk what you want, and pick out your color(s). I think my nails look just fine leaving here - no need to go anywhere fancier! They're often a bit busy, but because they're on the large side, I rarely have to wait. They have a decent selection of nail polish, with a lot of OPI and Essie colors - although they often aren't arranged in a great way. The great thing here is the Mon - Wed deal: a manicure and pedicure for $25. Insane! i would agree with other reviewers that I wish they smoothed out my feet a bit more during pedicures - the bottoms often still seem a bit rough and tough afterwards. The staff also isn't super personable, but I find that to be the case in nearly all nail salons. The salon also does waxing - they'll do eyebrow waxes in the open in the back of the giant nail-polishing room, and everything else in a private back room. It's a little weird to watch people get their eyebrows done, though, and I don't think I'd want mine done (although for some reason I'm okay with getting mine threaded in the middle of a mall....so not sure why this seems so weird to me). Generally the staff doesn't try hard to up-sale you (i.e. getting a special pedicure), but they do often ask me if I want my eyebrows done, which can be a little off-putting,especially when I think they look good! Whatever. They do look good. So there. They also don't have any quick-drying spray that some nail salons have, so you have do just sit and wait the old-fashioned way (or get a gel manicure). I was assigned to Chu who attempted to perform a full pedicure in less than 15 minutes and gave no foot massage. When i looked over my toes as she started to put the polish on there was still dirt under my nail bed, old polish on top with cuticles all over the place. When i pointed it out she looked at me as if i was out of line. She then asked Eileen to finish for her who did a better job but still sloppy. I left with nail polish on my skin. Came here on a Saturday afternoon, obviously, place was packed but I was seated right away without an appointment. Score! Treated myself a regular pedicure and gel manicure (natural nails). Place is really nice and clean. I noticed that they use fresh still-in-plastic nail tools (brush, nail file etc.) for every customer that gets a pedi. The staff are friendly, they'll have a short conversation with you but most of them converse in their own language. Really don't mind since I'm not a talker myself. I believe my tech's name was Lini or Lena, well, she's great and really paid attention when cutting / filing / painting my nails. The reason why they lost one star is because I felt the gel manicure process was a bit rushed and not enough time for my nails to dry. I was right because when I was outside in the sunshine, I noticed a small section on my right index finger and left thumb, that was not dried out completely so the section felt and looked matted out (if you know what I mean). I got home and put a top coat on it. I paid $55 total (not including tip) for a regular pedi and gel mani. I'll be back for their $25 mani/pedi deal! read more

I'm not into gel since everyone I know who gets them have damaged nail beds which I am trying to avoid. Did some research and noticed SMS dipping powder is in and thought I give it a try. The nail tech suggested a more youthful color on my nails because the one I chose was for old people lol. I wanted to added tips to the nails that weren't as long as my pinky and index. I've been dragging my husband to get pedicures with me on my dime for the past few months (who really wants to see/feel rough man feet?), and we went to the Woodmoor location this time after I just couldn't take the complaining and mockery from the alpha female at the Seminary location. This time, my husband asked for just a basic pedicure TWICE, and the young lady snuck in a $5 "callous removal fee", which we were informed of after-the-fact. Sigh... I received incredible service by the taller young man who gave me a gel manicure and pedicure, but paid a whopping $80 for mine! How on earth I was charged $20 for gel polish removal (toes only), then $35 for a gel pedicure, plus $25 for a gel manicure is beyond me. He did an excellent job, don't get me wrong, but I just didn't want to start a fight in the middle of the salon when I got the crazy final bill. I have a decent manicure but my experience with Linda was very disappointing, especially because I used other Yelp recommendations. It may have been a bad day for her but she was short and aloft. She did not want me to look for other polish nor help. When she did help, she looked annoyed. Also, when she was doing my nails it was hurting so I pulled my hand back and I said 3 times it is hurting all while she ignored me and continued to grab my hand with the same intensity. I am confident that she spoke about me in her native language. Despite my nails looking nice, her attitude, impatience and energy did not work for me as a paying customer. One of the worst mani/pedis I've ever had! The bank seating is so uncomfortable, individual massage chairs are the way to go. To try to let your toes dry without incidence at the bar while getting your manicure is almost impossible. I had to repaint my nails myself when I got home, they were a complete mess. This is my regular salon for waxing, manis, pedis, the lot. (Almost) Everyone that works there is SUPER friendly and sweet! They always greet you as you come in. I've only ever had to wait to be serviced one time, and that was only about 5 minutes. Every other time I am taken right away, even if it is really busy (even without an appointment - I've never needed to make one for this place). The prices are about average, I suppose, but they do have a deal which gets you a basic manicure & pedicure for $25.00. I never really bother requesting technicians by name, because I've never gotten one I haven't liked. They all do great jobs. On top of all these positive things, the quality of the services provided is always great, whether it be manicures, pedicures, or waxing. I've never experienced a poor job done regarding any service.
